you should use paracord instead of the leather its stronger and useful for emergencies

if oiled proper and taken care of.

layered or stacked steel..folded and pounded a certain amount of times

this is what makes the pattern in the blade..Sometimes

twisted together..This is the short version I am posting here, ..Just giving you a basic idea.

@mlknives soft and hard steel folded to 100-200 layers gives pattern and from 350-20 000 layers used witout pattern to make extra hard plades.

pattern cames up with sertain (acids)

simple care, There are still many custom makers and productions

knives that use this steel for may reasons. One being This steel holds up great

and can be re-sharpned real easy when needed in the field or at home..

small amount of Mineral oil on the steel does help protect it....Leather can also be protected with simple care. The particular design above is also being done currently

with an epoxy coat on the leather
