Iron Maiden are great musicians, some of their songs are hits like Fear Of The Dark, but they are far less emotional than Metallica's. For example Master Of Puppets - hidden Hetfield's addictions, that he didn't even know about, which came out late for him. That's interesting, and Iron Maiden... hmmm "I was walking down the street and got scared by a cat passing my way and jumping on a fence" 10-year-old kid? ;)

Iron Maiden has no riffs. (Its a good band, but their guitarists play rhythm very differently.)

Metallica is the biggest metalband of all time.

This song is one of the best known metal songs of all time.

The riffs in this song are not that original, but they are definatly catchy and have a nice heavy thrash flow.

Iron Maiden has indeed melodies that are more accesible for the regular listener, but that doesn't change anything about the quality of the music.

@MarioMadman97 They did this from 1993-1999, I think. I think they thought the song was too long and didn't keep the attention of the crowd so they played the most energetic part. They started playing the song in full at times in 1999 right around the time when S&M came out. Some other times throughout the 90s they played it in full too. They have played the full 8 minutes since they returned to touring in 2004.
