You get this allot, people fool tourist they are holding cobras but they are really holding a nonvenomous Rat Snake. You can pick those guys up without all the fancy tricks like you would with a cobra and have them tame in minutes. Altho Radiated Rat Snakes are a little cranky.
They only tapped the venom before the show. So the cobra´s had an minimum amount of venom left.
The snake handler has built/developed a natural resistance, against the venom. By drinking water with a microscopic amount of venom, during several years. Just like a vaccine!
I was there and saw the fangs, which they showed to us.
The king cobra had probably both its fangs removed, and where slightly drugged too.

Hi there!! I have also been to this shoe in jan 2006, it was the best! Well spend money, I was afraid all the time. Hate snakes.. ;) But the adrenalin..;) The crew were not so nice to me, they scared me so I almost fell down from the bench..haha.. First I was in the middle of the bench, when they get the king cobra I were at the top bench. haha. 2003 U were there, and I 3 years later, same show, same music ;)Thanks for let me watch it again. ;)
Oh no! Would someone please rush the snake to the emergency room! Just kidding. But I hope that the snake charmer is faring well after that stunt. LOL :-)
...and as for the king cobra at the end. It is not uncommon for such snakes to have there fangs yanked or glands removed. Such shows as this go beyond being educational/show offs to the point of being nothing more than thrill shows for profit(and at the animals expence). I would not shed a tear if the guy got a wet bite.
hehe yeah that´s the risk, when handling snakes. especially when he´s almost asking for it...
It kinda looks like, he´s letting the snake bite him, on purpose... (but that would be foolish, risking a bite to the eye) He took a little break (5 min) after the snake bite. His sweating increased, he "ate" some herbs of some kind, which he chewed on also...
Not venomous? Shame.
