  • Any man that walks into battle wearing a skirt is obviously a badass motherfucker.

His nationality is not really that important IMO.

  • @MrJohanasBilderberg Do you know why it's called a Kilt? because the last one to call it a skirt got "kilt" (translation killed) :) lol ღஜPeaceஜღ

  • Best I recall, the French soldiers during the Napoleonic Wars, called the Scots highlanders that wore kilts, "The ladies from Hell!!!!" So, I don't know what the controversy is about. Scottish soldiers have ALWAYS been brave!!!! Hell, the "over the mountain boys" in the South who were Scots BEAT the British in the US Revolutionary War, and I am PROUD to be one of their descendants!!!!! I LOVE bagpipe music, and I'd LOVE to find a CD that has nothing but bagpipe music!!!!!

  • Come on Zach, do you take everything seriously? I'm sure your men in kilts have a sense of humour. Lighten up.

  • How come they're wearing dresses?

  • @djbrown19 It's a kilt and it takes a man to wear one and not give a shit what others say about it. And wherever you come from I'd take my soldiers in kilts defending my country over whatever you guys have anyday.

  • Great song! Always brings to mind the sacrifice brave men are willing to make. The movie was about extraordinary soldiers that would have been well satisfied to march to this tune. Both the American and Canadians of the FSSF were exemplary soldiers that our two nations still revere as the best of our best. God Bless their memory!

  • @Johnnyqwest1

Well if you looked at wiki, you're wrong...

  • Certified Intergalactic!

  • To the officers and men of the 1SSF thank you for your service

  • Thank you God for Scotland and all the great countries allied with America!

  • Michaelj,

You're 100% right, thanks for the friendshp of G. B.

  • @michaelj1955 I completely agree with you! These countries carried into the world the values of freedom and dignity for mankind. (As you may have guessed I do not belon

  • Can someone give my the notes of this song please? :D

  • Shame the film sucked.

  • THIS IS THE BOLLOCKS MATE!

  • Its in our blood and culture to assume we are better than others lol id be mad if they werent comments picking fights lol its how it should be

  • Nun wird mir klar, wie die Bäume in Schottland alle verschwanden.......

  • I do not recommend messing with that Canadian sergeant major!

  • May no one question How it good a Ally Canada is.

  • @WALTERBROADDUS Almost 200 years of peace.Here's to 200 more.

  • TROLLING FOR THE WIN

  • the 4 dislike are from england...

  • Arguing about the nationalities of the soldiers portrayed; how about the fact that this song was written in the 1950's and could not have been a marching song for a WWII unit.

  • @gjenkins1 I looked up in Wikipedia and said the tune first turned up at the turn of the 20th century and the lyrics were written in the 50s.

  • @gjenkins1 shut up idiot, this song was written in 1843 when scotland were trying put the England's out of them , so shut up. in 1950 a new version of them was written

  • @sware098 The version played in this video could not have been played in WWII, but OK I'm an idiot and your life is so pathetic that you can get worked up over a Youtube posting.

  • @gjenkins1 shut up , i don't want fight in youtube this is ridiculous, so stop

  • @gjenkins1 The LYRICS were written in the 1950s, but the SONG is much, much older. Sheet music was published at least as early as the 1880s in a songbook called the Gesto Collection. We old Drum Majors know this stuff. BTW, screw Wikipedia

  • Eellenne watch glenboyz videos who cares about nationalities i have english dad scottish mum but i am british and proud just think scotland made the world they travelled and gave the world there riches Mcintosh Mcadam if it wasnt for scotland the world would be a poorer place just be proud

  • "LET'S SHOW 'EM THE WAY,CANADIANS!"

  • You guys do understand the Devils Brigade had nothing to do with any Scottish regiments, but instead was a mixture of Canadian and American troops.

  • @Shadowkeeper1111 The 'Devils Brigade' also had deeper connotations in an Ulster terror organisation from the 1970's??

  • @Shadowkeeper1111 Tell that to the morons who wrote in before me.

  • @Shadowkeeper1111 But just as in Gunga Din, it makes for better theatre if the British soldiers (or Commonwealth troops, as here) arrive to the sound of pipes. Half the Johnny Canucks were probably of Scottish descent anyway, since Canadians as a whole are, it seems like!

  • what the fk is he on about . i typed in hear comes the highland granny two big tits and a hairy fanny n get this ?

  • beautiful song

  • i may vomit, lend me your hat

  • One of my favorite with the Panzelied.

  • Is there a bagpipe Highland kilt wearing military Scottish song or instrumental on you tube that doesn't have an argument between Scotland and England or the war or America or the highland clearances or nationalism or we're better than you or whatever else they can rant at what? No! oh wel!! l Gawd they even argue on alien vids I just saw a race argument on one ha! What's happened to everyone why so much anger just reply to the video which this is great btw Brilliant film I've family in Canada

  • @Eellenne They argue over any and everything. I have been her for only four years but I have difficulty with the arrogance, crudity and lack of manners in this country. I doubt I will acclimatise. If they separate from the UK they will take up the age old game of fighting amongst themselves. I may have to leave!!

  • @VeroniqueCG You will have difficulty acclimatising if you judge them negatively, understanding where they're coming from and our history may enlighten you. Arrogance is usually met with contempt as I was referring to You Tube in general not the Country.ღஜPeaceஜღ

  • This and "Highland Cathedral" are the pipe tunes I dislike the most. I'm not against pipe music of course, but as a life long lover of the genre with about 250 tunes memorised, these two almost make me want to puke!

  • To our people I say cead mile a failte!

  • i love this sound greetings from germany!! ;D

  • One more march for Scotland--to freedom!

  • ladies from hell

  • @georgeglory1 That's what I grew up with.

  • 51st highland regiment was my granda

  • My grand dad came over from the Highlands and settled in Canada before he headed down to the States. I never thought there was anything other than a Highland Scot Canadian.

  • this is a cut scene from the "Devil's Brigade", it is showing the Canadian Highlander battalion.

Sorry to crush your soul like that, but its all-Canadian, only the music refers to scotland. No hard feelings eh?

but hey, our first prime minister, John MacDonald was scottish!

  • Is anything worn under the kilt?

No, they are in vera vera gud condition!!!!

  • Richard Dawson in the Hooouuuussseee!!!!!

  • Umm, where are the kilties' rifles?

  • im of irish decent ...but by feck am scots through & through >>>>> alba go brath

  • I am descended from old Brythonic and pictish....the Irish Celts were actually unwelcome invaders who destroyed our kingdom. And before you ask, I participated in an longtitudinal DNA genealogy study, so that is how I can be so fucking sure.

  • @Scotslover86 They didn't defeat us, but they did end up merging with us.

    Also Picts for life :)

  • @Flamorgan But I am not English, I am Scottish....and I would like to fling the Irish off of our fucking roundabout (at very high speed)! In Scotland the Irish are like cockroaches!

  • @Flamorgan "Them southern pussies"?...well what abour those parasitic Irish cunts in our midst and the west of us? How will we rid ourselves of those Irish fucks before they pollute everything?

  • Wish i had the balls to wear a kilt. Nice going lads.

Heard about the scots wanting to join Scandinavia, well all I can say is you are more the welcome :)

  • @AeroAtlas in your eyes maybe but i even use this song to put me to sleep sometimes not in a bad way i only listen to songs i love

  • Kilt is called Kilt because the last one who called it skird was killed

  • THE QUEEN IS SAFE BECAUSE EXIST SCOTLAND!!

  • @pasciente The Queen's a bitch.

  • @PsycoBhoy well u better send ur kilt army to london and ask the queen for ur independence and then see what happenes.

  • @SolidTube911 Believe me, if I had my own army I'd be doing a lot more than that...

  • @PsycoBhoy last time, a scotsmen named William Wallace tried anything like that ended up with his head paraded by the king of england so it wouldnt be a wise idea would it.

  • @SolidTube911 Listen you Fannie the english hold no Fear for the Scot and that included Wallace.Scotland Wull and so Will Mr Salmond Alba gu Brath and by the way Get it right up Ye. Now go sit on a rusty nail you Dim Git.

  • @SolidTube911 I could explain it to you but it's none of you or your kinds buisness and besides I would be very surprised if you understood anything but I do believe you understand gaylick very well just like your countrymen.

  • @strathpipe WoW a scot who wears a skirt is being homophobic, well u scots are truly ignoranus.

  • Scotland is an overlooked country. Most people don't realize just how great it is until they visit Scotland.

    ALBA GU BRATH!

  • What a great rendition from a great movie. The combining of an American and a Canadian unit. Thanks for the posting.

  • Don't mess with men in kilts. They're brought up on Irn-Bru.

  • thumbs up for Scotland

  • @heroaap

An epic moment in one of the very best WW2 movies ever made. Props to the Canadians! Alba gu bràth!!

  • AWA THE SCOTS!

  • ITS NOT A SKIRT ITS A KILT!

  • now thats kick ass

  • Even as an American I still love the Scottish. I remember being obsessed with them. My favorite Scots are Kevin McKidd, and General Roy Urquhart.

  • scots = slaves of england!

  • @hummer8384 English = Slaves of a jew-masonic monarchy!.

  • @pierovasquezcortes Nazis = Slaves to the Fuhrer's lies.

  • @TheIronChancellor1 Jews = Slaves of Demiurge.

  • @hummer8384 Yeah...

That's why Scotland has a devolved Parliament, get's free prescriptions, free university, while England has no Parliament of its own.

    Slavery my arse.

  • @hummer8384 You do know that England has never fully controlled Scotland and actually Scotland has alot of say in the Britain politics.

  • die teufels brigade, einer der besten filmr die es gibt

  • the person who dislike't this..has a penis the same size is the red dislike bar

  • I STILL remember seeing this for the first time, in what used to be called "movie theatres," which died off slowly after people no longer behaved in them during the film being shown.

  • Harry Kizirian aka "The Killer" aka "The K-BAR" and my clan, love Bag Pipes.

  • 1:03 captain Price ?!?!

  • watch?v=j96AcIZtw3o check that :)

  • captain PRICE !!!!!!!!!!

  • I just love the bagpipes. Stirring music.

  • I wish they could make this the official anthem of Scotland. " Flower of Scotland" is a great song but it's not as inspiring as this one ! Plus the one that "Those days are gone now/And in the past they must remain/But we can still rise now/And be the nation again", that's quite depressing ! Aren't we already the same nation ?

  • AYE!

  • go canada go? canada is a ficticious country, a bad copy of USA ! and you canadians are filling your country of asian inmigrants pffff that is not a country that is an enterprise for white capitalist! Scothland is a country and a part of a bigger country.... or not? i´m not scott i don´t know

  • @Snake7X7 L3rn yur Historeh Boi.

Canada and US: founded around the same time.

No one copied eachother, considering that if the Thirteen Colonies (the USA) hadn't violently left the Brittish Commonwealth, There would be no border between Canada and the US. There'd be one country.

Sides, if Canada's a fictitious country, how am I living in it?

It would appear the music, intended to troll the hell out of the Americans in this Movie, has worked it's magic on yet another poor poor fool...

  • @Snake7X7 So says the fatass country thats going to cause another great depression any day now?

Canada, yes, canada is a country. They have much presence and say in many things, offering many goods with great imports and exports.

    America?

America, if anything, is not even a country. Its just a large mass of land owned by China and Europe, taking more and more money out of their wallets.

  • sundimented - I am part Scots & proud of my heritage. You don't have to be pure Scots or living in Scotland to have Scottish heritage nor to be proud of it. Quit being a nit-picking wanker.

  • Typical Scots, First in - last oot

  • Many Americans are Scots also. My great-grandfather came over from Scotland in late 1800s. I proudly look to my Scots heritage.

  • @smsswensondarling true scots have scottish parents.

  • @corsair9393 Because a lot of Canadians are Scots! :)

  • in the 82dAbn,1/508th,74-76,payday muster t' Scotland th' Brave,ev'ry month (i bet they cut that--not multicultural enuf)

  • @aptcmpasion

I was in DIVARTY 84-86, no payday muster anymore. But if it makes you feel any better in '85 we did a unit exchange with the Royal Canadian Horse Artillery and they brought a piper. It was awesome seeing them marching down Gruber with the pipes screaming out the tune.

  • Rule 1 about war, if you see a man in a kilt, don't F with him, he'll F you up!

  • Celtic Embraces alot of People! Be PROUD of your genes!

  • go canada go

  • In the video, it looks like they're marching through Afghanistan. Maybe we win this fight with good music =)

  • 0:47!! What the Hell is Captain Price doing there?

  • I'm not a Scot, I'm Norse, and truthfully sometimes Highlanders give me a cramp but throughout history they have always been some of the finest warriors on the face of the earth. Try Colin Campbell and "93rd there is no retreat from here". Or the best mercenaries in Gustav Adolph's magnificent army that smashed the Holy Roman Empire or heck any number of campaigns with the British army from Burma to Waterloo. I dunno, just tough bastards i guess,.

  • Please write me the title of that movie!!!

  • @Dannythepipingboy The Devil's Brigade

  • [Sees the unorganized U.S troops]

The Major "God save the King."

The Other Officer "God save us all."

  • im Gypsy, but i don the kilt.... everyday!......

  • ROMANIA!!!!!!

  • @cmuscariu ce greu isi dau strainii seama =)))

  • so glad to have Scottish in my ancestry if it hadn't been for scotch whiskey the Scotts would rule the world

  • da da !! superb !!

  • @cmuscariu

    French ?

  • TEven liking Englamd I love Scotland just because the Highlanders that fought on the Britisch army during the 18th and 19th century and they were faered as demons

  • @Vividestwarrior360 Us canadians also take pride in our way of life. Yes our military tradition take root in scotland, Ireland, england and France. You want to know why because that is where we came from we will never try to pretend differently. And at least we have the decency to respect others. And BTW Haggis isn't eaten much in canada unless you are from scotland so i don't what your talking about because we have never claimed that the bagpipe originated here.

  • Hey, canadians are filthy english dogs, both the english and canadians are tyrannts and I will not can can not accept being called stupid so you can all kiss my scottish ass. no candian was from my highlands, and we wore the berets long before anybody else, And Hell Yeah Im A "Yankee" and proud of it, we could kick anybodies butt at any time. Hoorah!

  • Nice to see that the filmakers of the Devils' Brigade kept to the order of Battle. Black Watch leading, then the RCR's, PPCLI and the R22eR (The Van Doos) Bloody nice to see Canadians on parade like that~~~

  • Sorry but Bagpipes, Kilts, Bretes, and the Devils Brigade are all Scottish, and I know That SCOTTLAND RULES, down with the english devils. HOORAH!

  • @JohnConnor764 well Berets is the correct spelling and the scots wear and worn the Tammy shanty ? ( HELLO ) as did the canadians who was mostly from the Highlands ? so i think you should really go back to school?. or even night school you little red neck and learn HISTORY oh before you go Yankees was what the American Indians called the english ? maybe when you go to night class you might what to look that up as well you DIPSTICK

  • I believe even today, the few kilted-regiments of the Canadian Army still have pipe bands and use the same tunes as the Scottish regiments of the British Army.

  • @Hassar100 Yes, many regiments are linked and we have a shared heritage of being part of the Empire.

  • thats not the canadian army its the scots playing scot music bull shit

  • @dragonblud1 No, they are scottish-canadians, playing indeed scottish music, but they are very much Canadian.

  • @Niambag what ever you sayyyyy lad

  • @dragonblud1 You know Canada was a British dominion for a long time, until Canadians proved themselves as better soldiers in the No man's land of France and Belgium during the first world war. It is said that Canada was born under a French Lys, grew up under the english roses and mature under its proud maple leaf.

  • @Niambag you sound as if you are a canadian there good sir im all agreeing with you here but the scottish met the irish and they prodused a cult called canadians canadians are a mixture of scots and irish. the french came in when the scots and irish became allied with them

  • @dragonblud1 tell that to the boy general WOLF god who teaches you lot HISTORY jusus

  • @cypruskev ha i will because its true

  • im saying this because the canadians wouldnt be wearing the scottishkilt if they weren't scottish you see

  • @dragonblud1 In fact there is only a few reserve regiments in Canada that wear the kilt. Myself, I am not from scottish origins but from french origins. So our regiments tradition are very diversified depending the origin of the people that first raised them.

  • @Niambag i see

  • I do not understand how someone can be integrated into wars that do not concern him ... stop acts of war! We have no business there!

  • the band marching is supposed to be the canadian army

  • scotland, you mind if england borrows this epic tune ?

  • How many men was this there last song?

  • Being Irish I hate to say it, but Scotland the Brave is my favorite pipe and drum tune, just classic.

  • @tmlafrance .when it comes too any bag-piped music...this one is the KING and the most recognisable in the world.

  • @tmlafrance

    Being Irish?

Your from America, you should know were all Celtic people so how you assume theres anything to be shamed of its beyond me.....most united people in the world.

Same with the Welsh and Bretons.

  • @phr34kyy you're taking me a tad too literal. Faugh a Ballagh!

  • @phr34kyy not to mention the Galicians, Cornwallese and the Manx. Seven Nations!

  • @romoly22

Exactly, Gaelic and Brythonic Celt's united since the dawn of man, and forever it shall be.

    Fucking Yanks.

  • @phr34kyy - Careful- I'm a f*cking Yank too! Slainte!

  • @tmlafrance Yer ma was a Jock lol
