You know, I'm sorry and i don;t want to get hated on for sticking up for the Prius, but I was a Autobeyour's garage in Indiana and what they do is fix salvaged Prius', and Prius' only. I seen a Prius' shell, I seen one that flipped 7 times! No one was hurt! I even have the airbag's that he took out of it as a souvenir! LOL No lie. Even the side curtain one. All I can say is, the Prius is an over-engineered car. It's got the right type of steel in the places it needs to be to make it safe.
lol, Recalls happen all the time, I do not own a prius. This vehicles does very well in EuroNcap, IIHS, and NHTSA crash tests. Why is society filled with so many fucktards, I wish I had a bullet for every one of you sorry ass cock sucking mother fucking shit heads. Who think they know everything, yet in reality know absolutely nothing, well except maybe how to fuck, no different than chimps.
This video is kinda pointless without telling the speeds of these collisions. They look bad but they're all shot in highspeed so to be fair they could be at basically any speed. Would I still buy a Prius? no. Because I am a guy.
A bad accident waiting to happen to a blind kid lol. It drives by "Hush..." anyway Priuses hug the road not trees. SUVs hug the mountains, grass, you name it.
I drive a Lotus Turbo Esprit and a BMW, and live in the financial district of Manhattan (see my videos). I can afford several of them. But thats not the point. The point is that these cars and the people who drive them are smug, self-righteous pricks who think that they're just oooh so enlightened because they drive a Prius, when in reality they're little more than insecure eco-sheep who can't think for themselves.
if you can afford a brand new prius than you arent worried about gas anyways. If i could afford a prius at 500/mth i wouldnt spend the money on it, anyways.
It looks to me like the car did pretty well; not mention that your less likely to get into an accident in the first place because these cars handle so much better and are much easier to drive than those dumb SUV's. It seems to me that critics are insane with jelousy that we are getting 50mpgs while thier lucky to see the 20's
So go research typically used debating strategies that idiots use, and one of the first will be your "begging the question/circular reasoning/petitio principii" nonsense. The last time someone demanded "Show me proof" as the basis of their argument was...was... hmm...I can't remember the last time someone threw that one at me. BUT DAMNIT! It was a while ago!
I ask you to show me proof for your claims and you retort by asking me to prove my claims. That's called circular reasoning, and nothing can change that, because it's right. How about you address the other person's demands before making the same ones yourself.
As for your claims, you say things which aren't true and offer no proof for them, which makes sense considering they're false in the first place. I wonder how many people believe you?
Once again for the slow witted amongst all of us. IT'S NOT CIRCULAR REASONING TO MAKE FUN OF YOU FOR USING SUCH A CHILDISH DEBATING STRATEGY. To demand that someone show proof as the only retort that you have to my points, shows that you can't form any of your own ideas into intelligent arguments. Stating that I address YOUR demands again and again instead of making any of your own thoughts known shows that you have little ability(if at all) to do so. I won this "debate" a while ago. cont~~>
2) Use 1 small gas engine & 1 small electric motor.
3) Test the MPG without any loads that the average person would exert on the car (ie. adults, kids, and/or stuff.
Those 3 things are needed to get any car to have the grand MPG ratings of 50-60. THAT IS WHY SUV HYBRIDS DON'T! When one adds any normal load to those cars they lose "efficiency" at a phenomenal rate. Therefor, you spend more for the car initially, and can't carry anything but 1 adult to recoup the initial loss.
I have a used 08 Prius. Don't tell me I've never been in one. And just so you know, I drive it around with my mom a lot and brother sometimes. I've driven friends in it too. They don't lose "efficiency at a phenomenal rate." I frequently time at 50-60 mpg a lot when driving.
I ask for you to show proof because anyone can say something and pass it off as true. Where did you hear that they lose efficiency when under heavy load? Please quote me your source before you say anything bad about hybrids
@tpaladino i have a 2010 prius and i have achieved 60 mpg. you have do drive it a certain way and utilize the different driving modes. If i leave it in default and drive it like a non hybrid, i still get about 48 mpg. I love my prius and i don't give a shit what anyone thinks.
Now...Due to the structural engineering requirements needed to get those "efficiency" ratings on MPGs. The cars are designs smaller, and lighter. If you've ever been in one (doubtful), then you would immediately notice the nonexistent space between certain body parts and the car. Such as knees touching the console, and shoulders/heads so close to the structural frame to the sides. "Comparable opposing obstruction testing" means 2 small cars colliding.(5 star rating yes) BUT...
..Get hit by anything else on the road and your dead. Including those unfortunate deer that get their legs taken out by those expertly designed low hoods, only to have the full weight of the deer slam into your face. Did they test for that often occur. in the lab? Oops! Maybe those tests don't cover accidents of two diff. vehicle types. That's right! They don't! "Comparable opposing obstructions" is what their called. Meaning that you get 5 star protection from striking another tinfoil go-kart!
The Prius is meant to be driven in the city. It was designed to work in the city and is built around that kind of environment. The Prius' crash test rating is based on crash tests in front, side, and back collisions at varying speeds and it passed those with flying colors. I'll make sure to inform them to include a deer in their next crash test for those cities that house deer in their streets. Just like your battery argument this one is soundless, and you refuse to accept the truth. You win.
"comparable opposing obstructions". That means that you will get 5 star protection if hitting, or hit by, a car of comparable size/mass. Crashing in the city at 35 mph is the same as outside the city at 35 mph. The laws of physics don't change just because of scenery.
By the way...The hood that was so expertly designed very low and scoop like; Was condemned by AAA as "unusually pervasive at causing excessive head trauma to pedestrians striking the upper pillars or windshields." & cont~~>
~> "Significantly higher risk to the front two occupants from structural failure of the windshield which may lead to excessive intrusion of foreign projectile bodies into the safety cabin".
Meaning the damn cars allow the pedestrians as well as deer to fly into the faces of the driver instead of rolling up and over. The same features on normal cars to absorb, and deflect deer applies to the MANY PEOPLE WHO LIVE, WORK, AND JAYWALK IN THE CITIES. The deer aspect applies to the city you IDIOTS!
well if you think about it. most drivers that will live in that sort of environment own either a large SUV or a pickup truck. Most People who own a prius live in the city. Dumbass
Living in a city does not mean that crashes will be low speed, or low energetic events. The tests focus at around 30-40 mph. If you're talking about the deer aspect, then yes. Drive a prius in the inner cities only. Just watch out for delivery trucks,dump/garbage trucks, SUVs, Crazed Taxis, Bicyclists, wayward pedestrians, & canyon sized pot holes. Your the DUMBASS for suggesting the safety should only count in the inner cities. Even though you're just as likely to be killed there as well.
P.S- Most people who own a Prius actually live just outside the cities in the burbs, and commute an average of 30 miles to work every day. Maybe not your city, but practically every city on the east coast have deer roaming the burbs. BUT since it doesn't matter b/c the pedestrians apply. I'll leave that little tidbit to the evidence locker of you being the DUMBASS!
Exactly, I agree. Most people who own a Prius really do live in the city, seeing as, well, it IS meant to be driven in the city. Even New York has its own HOV lanes. At least we know about the truth about the Prius. Pointless arguments in the internet are pointless.
Oh and by the way...Those "super efficient" little clown cars can't carry ANY load without losing the "efficiency" they supposedly provide. Go ahead and try to fill it up with 2 adults and supplies for a trip, and then record your ACTUAL mileage. (do the math at the pump, not the sticker label). Then factor in how much extra you spent on that extra motor and batteries, and come back to espouse the virtues of driving around in a car that might as well be made of paper. "GREEN" Power!
Show your proof that they can't carry load without losing efficiency or show proof for any of the things you say and people will start taking you seriously.
Try renting one next time you go on vacation, and fill it up with people and stuff. I don't need to 'show proof". That would be like me demanding that YOU SHOW ME PROOF OF THEIR EFFICIENCIES. The SUV versions gain several MPGs by making them hybrids. The reason why SUV hybrids don't get 50-60 MPG IS BECAUSE THEY ARE TOO DAMN HEAVY FOR THE LITTLE ELECTRIC MOTORS TO ASSIST IN ALL BUT THE VERY INITIAL MOVE.
The ONLY way to get those high MPGs is to have 2 small engines. Which means you MUST LIGHTEN THE WEIGHT. It's physics you idiot! Once you add any normal payload, you instantly degrade the MPGs down to common levels. The only way to get great MPGs with those little hybrids is to have one small person drive on flat ground, with the utmost of care for maximizing fuel effic. Does your car get the sticker MPG listed? NO IT DOESN'T. b/c normal driving is not how they test. Cont.~>
My '00 Mirage was EPA rated 32/40 back i the day,and I regulary averaged 37-38 mpg, with E10 fuel I now get 35 mpg consistently.I believe the 1.5/manual Mirage is one of the very few cars that actually got what they claimed it would.Heck, mid 80s Colts (same family of car) would get 40mpg easy,so these are the anti-hybrids from way back.
~~> The hybrids only exasperate the differences between how they test, and how ppl really use a car. ALSO! Are you saving the Earth when you have huge batteries being manufactured to put into those death traps? Conclusion: You don't save money. You lose capability. And you now have a lot of harsh chemical manufacturing waste to deal with. Not to mention spending thousands more for a few bucks saved at the pump. Plus interest on it if you finance. Go suckle on the "Green" teat if it makes you :)
Oh, you seem to be ranting about the battery. You realize every car has a battery, right? What about the pollution in those batteries? Take it one step further and all electronics equipment in general. Most electronics use batteries too, are THEY all bad for the environment and deserve to be shut down? If you care so much about mother Earth I suggest you stop using battery-powered devices in general and recycle everything that uses batteries. If not, then you're a hypocrite.
Come back when YOU have "proof" saying otherwise. And leave the thinking to everyone else, you're only making a fool out of yourself by regurgitating the crap that they try to sell to the rest of us.
Telling me to come back having proof saying you're wrong when I told you to have proof saying you were right is circular reasoning. Last time I checked, it doesn't hold well in a civil conversation. Or any.
Like I said before. I don't have to "sow you proof". Demanding someone show proof is the typical way to alleviate one self from making a point in opposition because one is "still waiting for the other to show proof". In regards to the batteries; I am certainly not trying to say they are evil by existing. I AM SAYING THAT THEY ARE A BIG REASON WHY THE CARS ARE NOT AS "EFFICIENT" AS CLAIMED. The batteries are a huge waste of weight, and resources(i.e cost) that the car must lug around. cont.~>
It's not "circular reasoning", or petitio principii, when I AM MAKING FUN OF YOUR ATTEMPT TO DO SO. You Idiot! Not to mention the fact that it was YOU who used those typical "begging the question" argumentative fallacies! Ugh. Go look it up first before you make another retarded attempt to blame me for your idiocy.
Because the testing system demonstrated here does not factor in many types of extreme loads a car may face in various accidents. The assumptions used by these ratings agencies are highly specific. Sure; It'll get a five star rating colliding with a stationary vehicle of the same "tinfoil" design. BUT! The roads, both in the US and EU, are full of trucks,Vans, and normal sized cars that would not contribute to a "five star" rating(whatever that means). Enjoy your clown car. Just be extra safe!
having looked at crash ratins for a bunch of cars... that actually is pretty impressive. the structure stays in tact. from what I'm seeing here, the prius does pretty well.
These things are coffins on wheels. I could care less about saving on a gallon of gas. I'm not putting my family in a shit box little car like this just to have them killed in a accident that would have been survivable in any steel framed car or truck. They use so much plastic in this thing to save weight it's not even funny. Drive it if you want but I wouldn't get caught dead in one...(pun intended)..
@cms81586 i hate priuses 100% and i am NOT sticking up for them here, but this car is really safe!! it has a 5 star safety rating, you wouldn't be butting your familys life at risk at all... but i agree with you on the other stuff... thats why i drive the new mondeo 2.5 turbo titanium x and the 4.2 litre Audi Q7
@cms81586 You are a fool. This is one of the safer cars on the road today. There are plenty of big, bad pickups that perform MUCH worse in these tests, '97-'03 F150, for example.

love seing this crapy car geting rammed. i hit one with my silverado in and i craked all its windows an a small fender bender. tell me how that is possible. my chevy just walked away and the lady had to be piked up in an ambulance. i feel so sorry that her interest in saving a little on gas had caused her health. jajaja
you coward, who's not brave enough to rammed a crappy car...if you're brave enough, go rammed a mercedes, BMW, rolls royce, bentley, if u do that i will salute u!
What's stupid is people will rant about anything that is not the "perfect" solution in their eyes. Shut the F up you sound like crying babies. Wahh it's not perfect Wahhh the batteries are from canada wahhhh the car looks stupid. It REDUCES FOREIGN OIL CONSUMPTION ON A DAY TO DAY BASIS. IF THEY COULD FIGURE OUT HOW TO MANUFACTURE THESE IN THE U.S. THEN WHAT?? Nothing ever will please you neoconservative bastards. I'm so glad Obama won just so you and Fox News can cry about it for 4 years
God I hate this car. Making one does more harm to the environment than driving pretty much another other car out there. Nickel for the batteries is mined in canada, shipped to europe for refining, china to be put into the batteries, japan for the batteries to be put into the cars and then off to their destinations.

> I don't give a shit about gas prices, never did
Yeah, right, keep on pretending
> Prius is not the solution, not even a step in the right direction
It is precisely the right step since it introduces the hybrid drivetrain. You need small, fuel efficient engine for coasting and boost from electric engine for acceleration
This will be extended into plug-in hybrid with 60 electric miles range. 95% of daily drives will do without a drop of fuel
The FORD Five Hundred was designed by FORD and VOLVO. It use's a VOLVO S80, XC90 chassis. It was increased in length and is just as safe as the VOLVO's.
The car has a 5 star crash rating and if you view the crash tests you will see an extremely strong and safe design.
Watch the side impact test and then look at some other side impact crash tests of other cars and tell me which car you would rather be sitting in.
Hybrids are useless, end of story. Even if you do manage by some miracle the claimed 65.7 mpg, look at the production process!! Parts shipped around the globe before they end up in the car causes much, MUCH more damage to the environment than say, a 4.4 V8 Range Rover supercharged.
-Since there are so many SUV's on the road and gas-guzzling cars. Based on the supply and demand model, when demand goes up, the demand curve shifts to the right, hence prices go up to relation to the amount of demand. In retard lingo, when xbox's first came out they were $500, but they sold for up to $2000-$3000 on ebay because of the amount of DEMAND there was on the market. So it would not be surprising if gas went up to $10/gallon.
-A lot Americans Fords and Chevrolets are actually Korean based and Korea is the side of a dot on the map. So therefore American cars are crap because they're part Korean and their history of creating safe cars is seen Korean crash test ratings which is zero.
Incorrect. Ford currently doesn't have any models on sale in the US that are Korean based. GM on the other hand has only one model currently with some basis in Korea and that is the Aveo. As you can see that is only one American car that is Korean based which if you think about it, is not majority. I believe in recent news it was claimed by the IIHS that Ford had the most Top Safety Picks out of any other automaker...yeah not even your precious Japanese automakers could beat out Ford.
-In physics, elastic collisions are safer. In retard words, it means cars that absorb impact are safer because the car's body takes the impact force. Majority of american cars don't have crumple zones therefore they're unsafe. My friend at UCD design the Ford Fivehundred. That's right college students designed the ford, so how safe is it? Japanese makers have 100,000+ engineers for each car design to make it safe. Compared to a handful of people that are used to designed American cars.
The Ford Five Hundred was based on the Volvo S80 platform from the early 2000's. The Five Hundred as I remember correctly received top safety marks. Furthermore the Five Hundred is the Taurus of today and the Taurus is the IIHS Top Safety Pick. Before you go spewing unsupported claims check your facts.
-Hydrogen is water. H20 is a chemical formula, hydrogen cars separate the hydrogen particle from the oxygen particle. Therefore a hydrogen engine works how? Well it doesn't involve fossil fuels.
The only reason this car does well in this test is because the IIHS is biased for liberal companies and hybred companies. They fail a lot of American cars but all the Jap ones pass. Liberal bias, environmentalists and jewish controlled media are hurting the economy. Vote MacCain, vote more drilling so we won't need hybreds.
Hybrids have killed people in accidents, the batteries explode and they don't save gas! Hybrids dont work because they are liberal environmental. They need lots of repairs too. Better to wait for hydrogen and not doing anything until then. Hydrogen is made out of normal, regular fossil fuels so oil companies won't go bankrupt and hurt the economy and lose people's jobs. But if we buy hybrids, oil companies will lay everybody off and ipods will be too expensive. Think about JOBS not saving gas.
sure it looks okay HOWEVER do you have any idea how much money that would cost you to repair? 2 motors 2X the price plus all the computers and air bags... you are better of buying a new house.
Motor Trend is biased as hell. And search "what is a Prius good for" here on youtube and you will see what top gear thinks of them. or simply "top gear prius".
Im not shure who put this comment on here but they said "mid size cars shouldent be this safe!" but I wanted to say the person who said that is a fuck brain! Just think what if there was a family that had a new born baby and who couldent afford a full size car so they bought a mid size car...so lets say theyre on there way to eat out with the baby and they hit an on comming car wouldent you want that car to be safe or what?
Prius is very safe, hauls ass on the highway, and saves me money at the pump...Eventually, everything is going to be hybrid, like it or not. Yes, I admit, its a boring car to drive, but who cares? Boring is good.
In the future, there won't be any hybrids because they're far too expensive and complex, and not efficient enough (a boring diesel car will get you 75+ MPG). Also, I think that's the first time I've seen 'Prius' and 'hauls ass' in the same sentence.
they're not too expensive. you can get one nicely equipped brand new for UNDER $25,000.
And i hope in the future we won't be using gasoline powered vehicles, (this includes hybrids) but the future isnt now, and hybrids are stepping stones.
Yes, you can get a new hybrid for under $25,000, but you can get a new non-hybrid economy car for under $17,000 - almost 2/3 the price. And you have to factor in all the additional costs, maintaining 2 engines and a giant array of NimH batteries.
And these cars are stepping stones? To what? We already have gasoline and electric cars, squishing them together isn't getting anywhere. You can't even drive this car using only electricity unless you modify it or stay under something like 25MPH.
You can get COMPACTS for 17,000, but not a midsized or something around the size of a prius, the Honda Civic is about the same price, and its a small car.... And BTW, those NimH batteries are LONG lasting. Theres Prius Taxis in Canada, 1997s actually, that still have their original batteries... how much do taxis average a year? multiply that by 10... Any work that needs to be done on the batteries is free until 10 years after the purchase...
or you could get a smart for $12,000 which gets the same gas mileage and have an interior that doesn't smell toxic. $25,000 is a lot of money to many people. And unlike the Prius, the smart doesn't suck and is actually fun to drive, according to TopGear.
Interior Smells Toxic? Apparently mine didnt get the memo... it smells fine. Oh, and i've seen the Smart Car, it has a rough and loud ride, and isn't built for families with stuff.
yet the Prius pollutes twice as much and the CDI version of the smart is actually more efficient. And you are using incorrect grammar. You should have used many, not much, as MPG is a plural quantity.
I was talking about emissions, not efficiency; which has nothing to do with the number of seats. And yes, the smart forfour can seat four to five people.
Of course the emissions don't have anything to do with the amount of seats. But when I compare cars I want the same roominess, amount of seats, luggage space, comfort(e.g. AC). Than we can talk about the emissions. I don't know your Smart. Maybe it fits the comparison perfectly.
And than you said that Golf diesel has better emissions than a Prius. Well, ther're not only CO2 but also NOx emissions. A diesel puts out more NOx than a Prius. Correct me when I'm wrong.
Please leave the decision what sucks and what not to everyone else.
And please don't tell me whether my grammar is wrong or when I have a typo. I am not interested in splitting hairs. And english is not my native language. So _excuuuuuse_ me. ;)
Well, aren't we a snob? I was making the point that I can say what I want and I have the right to have an opinion. And for your information, I am a child.
I know that you are 16, I looked up your profile(don't know if that is really correct of course). But is it not the age where you should get started to grow up(please don't take it personaly, just a thought).
Shouldn't you be less snobby correcting other peoples typos?
Well, you made a comment where you wrote the Prius suck and the smart not without reasoning. So if you just want to do some Prius-bashing, keep it please to your self. If you have arguments, like in you later posts, we can talk.
Lol, stalker :D . Profiles are one click away, just wanted to know whom I talking with.
Of course it is your freedom to say what you want, no doubt. But since this is a discussion I expect some reasons for a statement, right? Maybe I just expressed myself the wrong way.
BTW: nice crash test of your "landstrasse 3000 coupé"(saw it by stalking in your profile ;) ). How is the construction set called? Klix, maybe?
Prius drivers are illiberal mental morons who have no concept of reality. They always have the same look behind the wheel: mean faced, croped haired, femme-Nazis w/crazed eyes. I've seen Preces' in crashes on the street and it is always bad. Just wait until these cars are rotting away leaking their 'environmental' batteries in landfills across this planet.
Preces = Feces but I wouldn't expect you to know that as you undoubtfully drive a turd car everyday without realizing it. But hey live and let live and if this is how you plan on saving the planet, give it a go.
as apposed to your pig fucker gas guzzling american cars??? oh do please tell me how you getting 5 miles per hour racing those loud obnoxious pieces of shit saves the plannet? at least foreign cars exceed government standards for this country. i would love to see if they stopped making trucks and cars that have anything over a 1.8l engine in the united states to see all you hillbilly hick pig fuckers go to your graves. i would pay good money. it is your stupidity that is killing this planet
"5 miles per hour" is more like what your Preces tops out at full throttle. So instead of hugging a tree like you're in Berkley, go wrap your Preces around one here in our great state (PA). Now go crawl back into your fetid hole w/ your vile, hate filled liberal speech. I'm finished arguing w/ a mental midget who has no idea that it is intestinal fortitude that really saves our world.
defrankod's comment offended me, and i support the prius. it tops out over 100mph. and i don't want to wrap my prius around a tree, because then i would i have to get a new prius... and that wouldn't be efficient, also, hybrids are stepping stones to saving the world, there are lots of other things people can do.
you know. I hope all democrats make it manditory that all republicans turn in their gas guzzling vehicles and then fine them for driving them. if i could afford to get a prius I would but in the mean time i drive a honda accord that still gets better gas mileage with 125k miles than a brand new 2008 chevy aveo
Let me Tell you Something "LatteLiberal" People are going to continue to BUY Prius' BECAUSE its what they want in a car...Prius is VERY SAFE I was INVOLVED in a SERIOUS car Accident in 2005!! Thank Goodnedd my 2004 Prius SAVED Me AND MY SONS LIFE!! ALL 6 AIRBAGS DEPLOYED!!! AND FOR THAT HAPPENING I AM HERE TODAY!! AND YES IM A PROUD OWNER of a 2007 ALTIMA HYBRID AND A 2008 PRIUS TOURING!! FULLY LOADED!
Safety laws should NOT be tough. Small cars SHOULD be dangerous because what else will motivate customers to spend more money on a bigger and safer car? Toyota Prius is unfair competition and player. It is too safe and high quality for a small car and is making it hard for American carmakers. As a Christian and a Republican, vote NO to tougher crash safety, fuel economy and consumer protection laws. Vote YES to fair play in business, self regulation and the privatization of governments.
I can't believe how you contradict yourself back and forward , and mix differents topics on something that has nothing to do with the other, from what i understand is; let american cars makers, build lower quality and less safer cars..who wants that??I'm sure you're proud of american cars, I can't deny that, but why lower safety on cars???
Why lower safey on small cars? So people will be forced to buy bigger more expensive ones! Thats how carmakers make money, thats how the stock market goes up, thats how we can afford to buy more stuff. Liberals say "what about broken bones and pain?" Well, thats what medical insurance is for. Dont have medical insurance? Get a job or get out of America! WE DONT NEED YOU! Libs want socialized medicine and welfare from MY TAXES!
look, everything you buy , companies make money, no matter how cheap or expensive is, that's why it is on the market, now, if you believe making money over injuries and medical problems from others people, well, I don't know what type of CHRISTIAN are you, and , overall, you think that's the way to make an economy grow, you better get well informed , because just accross the pund there is an economy that live pretty well with small cars.
its people like you who really mess up this world. So you would rather have a bunch of people die all because they cant afford your expensive SUVs? Thats about the farthest thing from Christian. Also, I dont know if you have notticed, but car companies are doing FINE even with lower prices they are STILL over priced. Even if you got what you wanted it wouldnt work, there are still cheap used cars that are safe.
This guy is just posing as a conservative and saying outlandish things. Have things gotten so bad that liberals are now pretending to be conservatives just to slander them. Sad.
Well here you are again talking bad about the prius again! And yes the should make all small, mid, and full size cars all safe!Just think of a family who couldent afford a full size car so they went with mid size...sooo lets say one day their going down the road on their way to church and a car pulled out in frount of them and they crashed!(with their children.)Wouldent you want them to be safe? Also if you look on ez repairables and looked at the wrecked prius`s notice that none of them exploded!
notice that this is the erupean modle of the prius becuse the stering weel is on the right side of the car so in this case the car was crshed at 40-45 mph. and it is kind of scary how the glass shaderd in the front.
These cars are very very dangerous. Not only can you see how the structure totally collapses and kills people in a 5 mile an hour impact, the hybrid BATTERIES have exploded and killed many hybrid owners! No gas guzzler has ever done that. Liberal jew media has been covering up the battery explosion scandal and only Republican media has been brave enough to report it. Go to Rush Limbaugh's website and you'll see. Patriots don't lie. Cowardly liberals lie if they can sell hybrids and solar power.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Crown Victorias do NOT explode. That was liberal jew media you were watching NOT Fox News. Of course the jews have an ax to grind. Henry Ford was faschist and they will never let it go. Big cars that consume more oil will always be safer than hybrids. Camry hybrids, Nissan Altima hybrids, Tahoe Hybrids, I dont care. They are all dangerous. Fuel economy hurts the national economy. Oil companies have rights too.
No, It was a recall from the Ford motor company themselves.... Oil companies have their rights, but we have our rights too and if we want to save gas instead of driving huge pointless SUV's then we don't have to and they can get over it. I personally have a Ford Explorer, a Chevrolet Tahoe with the 5.3 V8 and a Highlander Hybrid.
LatteLiberal if the world was your way it would be like this:People dead everywhere due to poor safety laws, global warming wouldnt be curable, our government would be stacking their riches all day (not that they dont already, *ahem*the Bush family), and oil companies would have even greater domination than they do now. So gass prices would be $20 per gallon and everyone would be driving hummers that they cant afford because the oil companies and the government have all the money. Your retarded.
You fucking dumb ass these cars do NOT explode if you crashed a 5mph or else Toyota wouldent be able to sell them or they could get sued!God You dont know how pissed I am at you!You always down grate the prius! You know this car could save our earth one day!
about 40-45 mph... now that seems slow, but remember, no brakes used at NIHS, if in real life, you press brakes in time, you should hit w/e at about 45mph, unless you are speeding alot (+80mph)
Do not buy this car. It will hurt jobs in the oil industry and put soldiers out of work. Do you want more unemployment? If you are a patriot buy something that gets less than 30 MPG. If you're a coward and don't care about safety, buy a Prius.
excuse me but a prius is a great car my friend has on and it is awsome it is one of the few cars that have the cargo room of an SUV and still get 50+ miles to the gallon, and the oil working pepole could presevetje oil they caacht and turn it into somthing mor useful like e85 and the the enviorment and the pepole will both be happy. and besides the prius dose stink in the fact that it dose not offer powere seats and dual a/c.
thanks for the correction.... BTW- I actually own a 2005 with 103,000 miles (I purchased new) I still have the original brakes. I had the transmission fluid done 3 times, oil a bunch of times, and it's on 2nd set of tires, but all-in-all. Great car and no problems with it.
If you drive a hybrid then you're a faggot. End of story.

Thanks for the laugh though.
prancingdog 2 years ago
I ask you to show me proof for your claims and you retort by asking me to prove my claims. That's called circular reasoning, and nothing can change that, because it's right. How about you address the other person's demands before making the same ones yourself.
As for your claims, you say things which aren't true and offer no proof for them, which makes sense considering they're false in the first place. I wonder how many people believe you?
*Looks around*
I thought so, lol.
ooooeeeeooooeeee 2 years ago
Once again for the slow witted amongst all of us. IT'S NOT CIRCULAR REASONING TO MAKE FUN OF YOU FOR USING SUCH A CHILDISH DEBATING STRATEGY. To demand that someone show proof as the only retort that you have to my points, shows that you can't form any of your own ideas into intelligent arguments. Stating that I address YOUR demands again and again instead of making any of your own thoughts known shows that you have little ability(if at all) to do so. I won this "debate" a while ago. cont~~>

1) Lighten the car.
Therefor, you spend more for the car initially, and can't carry anything but 1 adult to recoup the initial loss.
prancingdog 2 years ago
I have a used 08 Prius. Don't tell me I've never been in one. And just so you know, I drive it around with my mom a lot and brother sometimes. I've driven friends in it too. They don't lose "efficiency at a phenomenal rate." I frequently time at 50-60 mpg a lot when driving.
I ask for you to show proof because anyone can say something and pass it off as true. Where did you hear that they lose efficiency when under heavy load? Please quote me your source before you say anything bad about hybrids

hazzardousduke94 1 year ago
@tpaladino i have a 2010 prius and i have achieved 60 mpg. you have do drive it a certain way and utilize the different driving modes. If i leave it in default and drive it like a non hybrid, i still get about 48 mpg. I love my prius and i don't give a shit what anyone thinks.
dragonbait205 8 months ago
Now...Due to the structural engineering requirements needed to get those "efficiency" ratings on MPGs. The cars are designs smaller, and lighter. If you've ever been in one (doubtful), then you would immediately notice the nonexistent space between certain body parts and the car. Such as knees touching the console, and shoulders/heads so close to the structural frame to the sides. "Comparable opposing obstruction testing" means 2 small cars colliding.(5 star rating yes) BUT...
prancingdog 2 years ago
..Get hit by anything else on the road and your dead. Meaning that you get 5 star protection from striking another tinfoil go-kart!
prancingdog 2 years ago 3
The Prius is meant to be driven in the city. It was designed to work in the city and is built around that kind of environment. The Prius' crash test rating is based on crash tests in front, side, and back collisions at varying speeds and it passed those with flying colors. I'll make sure to inform them to include a deer in their next crash test for those cities that house deer in their streets. Just like your battery argument this one is soundless, and you refuse to accept the truth. You win.
ooooeeeeooooeeee 2 years ago
"comparable opposing obstructions". That means that you will get 5 star protection if hitting, or hit by, a car of comparable size/mass. Crashing in the city at 35 mph is the same as outside the city at 35 mph. The laws of physics don't change just because of scenery.
By the way...The hood that was so expertly designed very low and scoop like; Was condemned by AAA as "unusually pervasive at causing excessive head trauma to pedestrians striking the upper pillars or windshields." & cont~~>

3312cdfp5674 2 years ago
~> "Significantly higher risk to the front two occupants from structural failure of the windshield which may lead to excessive intrusion of foreign projectile bodies into the safety cabin".
Meaning the damn cars allow the pedestrians as well as deer to fly into the faces of the driver instead of rolling up and over. The same features on normal cars to absorb, and deflect deer applies to the MANY PEOPLE WHO LIVE, WORK, AND JAYWALK IN THE CITIES. The deer aspect applies to the city you IDIOTS!
prancingdog 2 years ago
well if you think about it. most drivers that will live in that sort of environment own either a large SUV or a pickup truck. Most People who own a prius live in the city. Dumbass
raiderz111 2 years ago
Living in a city does not mean that crashes will be low speed, or low energetic events. The tests focus at around 30-40 mph. If you're talking about the deer aspect, then yes. Drive a prius in the inner cities only. Just watch out for delivery trucks,dump/garbage trucks, SUVs, Crazed Taxis, Bicyclists, wayward pedestrians, & canyon sized pot holes. Your the DUMBASS for suggesting the safety should only count in the inner cities. Even though you're just as likely to be killed there as well.
prancingdog 2 years ago 2
P.S- Most people who own a Prius actually live just outside the cities in the burbs, and commute an average of 30 miles to work every day. Maybe not your city, but practically every city on the east coast have deer roaming the burbs. BUT since it doesn't matter b/c the pedestrians apply. I'll leave that little tidbit to the evidence locker of you being the DUMBASS!
prancingdog 2 years ago
Exactly, I agree. Most people who own a Prius really do live in the city, seeing as, well, it IS meant to be driven in the city. Even New York has its own HOV lanes. At least we know about the truth about the Prius. Pointless arguments in the internet are pointless.
ooooeeeeooooeeee 2 years ago
Oh and by the way...Those "super efficient" little clown cars can't carry ANY load without losing the "efficiency" they supposedly provide. Go ahead and try to fill it up with 2 adults and supplies for a trip, and then record your ACTUAL mileage. (do the math at the pump, not the sticker label). Then factor in how much extra you spent on that extra motor and batteries, and come back to espouse the virtues of driving around in a car that might as well be made of paper. "GREEN" Power!
prancingdog 2 years ago
Show your proof that they can't carry load without losing efficiency or show proof for any of the things you say and people will start taking you seriously.
ooooeeeeooooeeee 2 years ago
Try renting one next time you go on vacation, and fill it up with people and stuff. I don't need to 'show proof". That would be like me demanding that YOU SHOW ME PROOF OF THEIR EFFICIENCIES. The SUV versions gain several MPGs by making them hybrids. The reason why SUV hybrids don't get 50-60 MPG IS BECAUSE THEY ARE TOO DAMN HEAVY FOR THE LITTLE ELECTRIC MOTORS TO ASSIST IN ALL BUT THE VERY INITIAL MOVE.
prancingdog 2 years ago
The ONLY way to get those high MPGs is to have 2 small engines. Which means you MUST LIGHTEN THE WEIGHT. It's physics you idiot! Once you add any normal payload, you instantly degrade the MPGs down to common levels. The only way to get great MPGs with those little hybrids is to have one small person drive on flat ground, with the utmost of care for maximizing fuel effic. Does your car get the sticker MPG listed? NO IT DOESN'T. b/c normal driving is not how they test. Cont.~>

My '00 Mirage was EPA rated 32/40 back i the day,and I regulary averaged 37-38 mpg, with E10 fuel I now get 35 mpg consistently.I believe the 1.5/manual Mirage is one of the very few cars that actually got what they claimed it would.Heck, mid 80s Colts (same family of car) would get 40mpg easy,so these are the anti-hybrids from way back.
hpspeedster 2 years ago
Exactly. And not to mention that even a good diesel will put any hybrid to shame for cost effective, yet useful, transportation.
prancingdog 2 years ago
~~> The hybrids only exasperate the differences between how they test, and how ppl really use a car. ALSO! Are you saving the Earth when you have huge batteries being manufactured to put into those death traps? Conclusion: You don't save money. You lose capability. And you now have a lot of harsh chemical manufacturing waste to deal with. Not to mention spending thousands more for a few bucks saved at the pump. Plus interest on it if you finance. Go suckle on the "Green" teat if it makes you :)
prancingdog 2 years ago
Oh, you seem to be ranting about the battery. You realize every car has a battery, right? What about the pollution in those batteries? Take it one step further and all electronics equipment in general. Most electronics use batteries too, are THEY all bad for the environment and deserve to be shut down? If you care so much about mother Earth I suggest you stop using battery-powered devices in general and recycle everything that uses batteries. If not, then you're a hypocrite.

Telling me to come back having proof saying you're wrong when I told you to have proof saying you were right is circular reasoning. Last time I checked, it doesn't hold well in a civil conversation. Or any.
Show us the proof that you're right.
.....Nothing? I thought so.
ooooeeeeooooeeee 2 years ago
Like I said before. I don't have to "sow you proof". Demanding someone show proof is the typical way to alleviate one self from making a point in opposition because one is "still waiting for the other to show proof". In regards to the batteries; I am certainly not trying to say they are evil by existing. I AM SAYING THAT THEY ARE A BIG REASON WHY THE CARS ARE NOT AS "EFFICIENT" AS CLAIMED. The batteries are a huge waste of weight, and resources(i.e cost) that the car must lug around. cont.~>

superchilldude 2 years ago 2
Because the testing system demonstrated here does not factor in many types of extreme loads a car may face in various accidents. The assumptions used by these ratings agencies are highly specific. Sure; It'll get a five star rating colliding with a stationary vehicle of the same "tinfoil" design. BUT! The roads, both in the US and EU, are full of trucks,Vans, and normal sized cars that would not contribute to a "five star" rating(whatever that means). Enjoy your clown car. Just be extra safe!

There is a bar running from side to side under the front seats used to stiffen the car in a broadside crash.
It is also used to give the front seat occupants a raised, command seating position.
This way you don't have to look under the SUV's
when the pull up next to you.
Designed by college students! LOL
GTFsr 3 years ago
Hybrids are useless, end of story. Even if you do manage by some miracle the claimed 65.7 mpg, look at the production process!! Parts shipped around the globe before they end up in the car causes much, MUCH more damage to the environment than say, a 4.4 V8 Range Rover supercharged.
2007DBR9 3 years ago
-Since there are so many SUV's on the road and gas-guzzling cars. Based on the supply and demand model, when demand goes up, the demand curve shifts to the right, hence prices go up to relation to the amount of demand. In retard lingo, when xbox's first came out they were $500, but they sold for up to $2000-$3000 on ebay because of the amount of DEMAND there was on the market. So it would not be surprising if gas went up to $10/gallon.
daleydlin 3 years ago
-A lot Americans Fords and Chevrolets are actually Korean based and Korea is the side of a dot on the map. So therefore American cars are crap because they're part Korean and their history of creating safe cars is seen Korean crash test ratings which is zero.
daleydlin 3 years ago
Incorrect. Ford currently doesn't have any models on sale in the US that are Korean based. GM on the other hand has only one model currently with some basis in Korea and that is the Aveo. As you can see that is only one American car that is Korean based which if you think about it, is not majority. I believe in recent news it was claimed by the IIHS that Ford had the most Top Safety Picks out of any other automaker...yeah not even your precious Japanese automakers could beat out Ford.
stpat90 2 years ago 3
Furthermore Korea's automakers Hyundai/Kia have produced several safe cars of recent. IN fact they have at least 4 Top Safety Picks from the IIHS.
Next time don't uneducated claims.
stpat90 2 years ago
-In physics, elastic collisions are safer. In retard words, it means cars that absorb impact are safer because the car's body takes the impact force. Majority of american cars don't have crumple zones therefore they're unsafe. My friend at UCD design the Ford Fivehundred. That's right college students designed the ford, so how safe is it? Japanese makers have 100,000+ engineers for each car design to make it safe. Compared to a handful of people that are used to designed American cars.
daleydlin 3 years ago
The Ford Five Hundred was based on the Volvo S80 platform from the early 2000's. The Five Hundred as I remember correctly received top safety marks. Furthermore the Five Hundred is the Taurus of today and the Taurus is the IIHS Top Safety Pick. Before you go spewing unsupported claims check your facts.
stpat90 2 years ago
You have the knowledge of a 5th grader.
-Hydrogen is water. H20 is a chemical formula, hydrogen cars separate the hydrogen particle from the oxygen particle. Therefore a hydrogen engine works how? Well it doesn't involve fossil fuels.
daleydlin 3 years ago
actually its the other way around, They put Hydrogen into the car, and it combines with the oxygen in the air in the fuel cell to CREATE water.
IntegraFilms 3 years ago
The only reason this car does well in this test is because the IIHS is biased for liberal companies and hybred companies. They fail a lot of American cars but all the Jap ones pass. Liberal bias, environmentalists and jewish controlled media are hurting the economy. Vote MacCain, vote more drilling so we won't need hybreds.
LatteLiberal 3 years ago
Hybrids have killed people in accidents, the batteries explode and they don't save gas! Hybrids dont work because they are liberal environmental. They need lots of repairs too. Better to wait for hydrogen and not doing anything until then. Hydrogen is made out of normal, regular fossil fuels so oil companies won't go bankrupt and hurt the economy and lose people's jobs. But if we buy hybrids, oil companies will lay everybody off and ipods will be too expensive. Think about JOBS not saving gas.

laamor99 3 years ago
In the future, there won't be any hybrids because they're far too expensive and complex, and not efficient enough (a boring diesel car will get you 75+ MPG). Also, I think that's the first time I've seen 'Prius' and 'hauls ass' in the same sentence.

they're not too expensive. you can get one nicely equipped brand new for UNDER $25,000.
And i hope in the future we won't be using gasoline powered vehicles, (this includes hybrids) but the future isnt now, and hybrids are stepping stones.
Riandidit 3 years ago
Yes, you can get a new hybrid for under $25,000, but you can get a new non-hybrid economy car for under $17,000 - almost 2/3 the price. And you have to factor in all the additional costs, maintaining 2 engines and a giant array of NimH batteries.
And these cars are stepping stones? To what? We already have gasoline and electric cars, squishing them together isn't getting anywhere. You can't even drive this car using only electricity unless you modify it or stay under something like 25MPH.
j03808 3 years ago

And unlike the Prius, the smart doesn't suck and is actually fun to drive, according to TopGear.
landstrasse36 3 years ago
Interior Smells Toxic? Apparently mine didnt get the memo... it smells fine. Oh, and i've seen the Smart Car, it has a rough and loud ride, and isn't built for families with stuff.
Riandidit 3 years ago
My smart is neither rough, nor loud. It is actually quite fun, unlike the Prius.
landstrasse36 3 years ago
And still doesn't get as much MPG as the prius.
davidortiz619 3 years ago
yet the Prius pollutes twice as much and the CDI version of the smart is actually more efficient. And you are using incorrect grammar. You should have used many, not much, as MPG is a plural quantity.
landstrasse36 3 years ago
Does your Smart have five seats? Otherwise your comparison with the efficiency would be a little suboptimal.
d1oftwins 3 years ago
I was talking about emissions, not efficiency; which has nothing to do with the number of seats. And yes, the smart forfour can seat four to five people.
landstrasse36 3 years ago
Of course the emissions don't have anything to do with the amount of seats. But when I compare cars I want the same roominess, amount of seats, luggage space, comfort(e.g. AC). Than we can talk about the emissions. I don't know your Smart. Maybe it fits the comparison perfectly.
And than you said that Golf diesel has better emissions than a Prius. Well, ther're not only CO2 but also NOx emissions. A diesel puts out more NOx than a Prius. Correct me when I'm wrong.
d1oftwins 3 years ago
The new clean diesel models have less NOx and so do CDI engines than the Prius
landstrasse36 3 years ago
bullshit. the prius only gets 45. EPA can go to hell. Golf diesels and smart cdis get way better
landstrasse36 3 years ago
Please leave the decision what sucks and what not to everyone else.
And please don't tell me whether my grammar is wrong or when I have a typo. I am not interested in splitting hairs. And english is not my native language. So _excuuuuuse_ me. ;)
d1oftwins 3 years ago
You suck. What now?
landstrasse36 3 years ago
Somehow I knew this childish answer would come, lol ^^
d1oftwins 3 years ago
Well, aren't we a snob? I was making the point that I can say what I want and I have the right to have an opinion. And for your information, I am a child.
landstrasse36 3 years ago
I know that you are 16, I looked up your profile(don't know if that is really correct of course). But is it not the age where you should get started to grow up(please don't take it personaly, just a thought).
Shouldn't you be less snobby correcting other peoples typos?
Well, you made a comment where you wrote the Prius suck and the smart not without reasoning. So if you just want to do some Prius-bashing, keep it please to your self. If you have arguments, like in you later posts, we can talk.
d1oftwins 3 years ago
Wow, you are a stalker. Maybe I was never talking to you in the first place? I can still voice my opinion.
GOLF TDI > PRIUS
landstrasse36 3 years ago

Just wait until these cars are rotting away leaking their 'environmental' batteries in landfills across this planet.
rik747 3 years ago
thats odd because i saw a head on collision with a semi truck and the people in the prius survived. oh and rik747 its spelled PRIUS. not PRECES
defrankond 3 years ago
Preces = Feces but I wouldn't expect you to know that as you undoubtfully drive a turd car everyday without realizing it. But hey live and let live and if this is how you plan on saving the planet, give it a go.
rik747 3 years ago
as apposed to your pig fucker gas guzzling american cars??? oh do please tell me how you getting 5 miles per hour racing those loud obnoxious pieces of shit saves the plannet? at least foreign cars exceed government standards for this country. i would love to see if they stopped making trucks and cars that have anything over a 1.8l engine in the united states to see all you hillbilly hick pig fuckers go to your graves. i would pay good money. it is your stupidity that is killing this planet
defrankond 3 years ago
"5 miles per hour" is more like what your Preces tops out at full throttle. So instead of hugging a tree like you're in Berkley, go wrap your Preces around one here in our great state (PA). Now go crawl back into your fetid hole w/ your vile, hate filled liberal speech. I'm finished arguing w/ a mental midget who has no idea that it is intestinal fortitude that really saves our world.
rik747 3 years ago
defrankod's comment offended me, and i support the prius. it tops out over 100mph. and i don't want to wrap my prius around a tree, because then i would i have to get a new prius... and that wouldn't be efficient, also, hybrids are stepping stones to saving the world, there are lots of other things people can do.
Riandidit 3 years ago
you know. I hope all democrats make it manditory that all republicans turn in their gas guzzling vehicles and then fine them for driving them. if i could afford to get a prius I would but in the mean time i drive a honda accord that still gets better gas mileage with 125k miles than a brand new 2008 chevy aveo
defrankond 4 years ago
Keep dreaming little child. I bet you believe in the easter bunny and wait up for the tooth fairy while you're at it illiberal moron.

FULLY LOADED!
hybridlancer2004 4 years ago
Safety laws should NOT be tough. Small cars SHOULD be dangerous because what else will motivate customers to spend more money on a bigger and safer car? Toyota Prius is unfair competition and player. It is too safe and high quality for a small car and is making it hard for American carmakers. As a Christian and a Republican, vote NO to tougher crash safety, fuel economy and consumer protection laws. Vote YES to fair play in business, self regulation and the privatization of governments.
LatteLiberal 4 years ago
I can't believe how you contradict yourself back and forward , and mix differents topics on something that has nothing to do with the other, from what i understand is; let american cars makers, build lower quality and less safer cars..who wants that??I'm sure you're proud of american cars, I can't deny that, but why lower safety on cars???
ermollejuo 4 years ago
Why lower safey on small cars? So people will be forced to buy bigger more expensive ones! Thats how carmakers make money, thats how the stock market goes up, thats how we can afford to buy more stuff. Liberals say "what about broken bones and pain?" Well, thats what medical insurance is for. Dont have medical insurance? Get a job or get out of America! WE DONT NEED YOU! Libs want socialized medicine and welfare from MY TAXES!
LatteLiberal 4 years ago
look, everything you buy , companies make money, no matter how cheap or expensive is, that's why it is on the market, now, if you believe making money over injuries and medical problems from others people, well, I don't know what type of CHRISTIAN are you, and , overall, you think that's the way to make an economy grow, you better get well informed , because just accross the pund there is an economy that live pretty well with small cars.
ermollejuo 4 years ago
Agree 100%!!!
5james5 4 years ago
its people like you who really mess up this world.
5james5 4 years ago
This guy is just posing as a conservative and saying outlandish things. Have things gotten so bad that liberals are now pretending to be conservatives just to slander them. Sad.
slokoon 4 years ago
go to hell you fucking republican blood sucker.
defrankond 4 years ago
Well here you are again talking bad about the prius again! And yes the should make all small, mid, and full size cars all safe!Just think of a family who couldent afford a full size car so they went with mid size...sooo lets say one day their going down the road on their way to church and a car pulled out in frount of them and they crashed!(with their children.)Wouldent you want them to be safe? Also if you look on ez repairables and looked at the wrecked prius`s notice that none of them exploded!
hotbutt13 3 years ago
Annoying crash sound...
simenhjort 4 years ago
notice that this is the erupean modle of the prius becuse the stering weel is on the right side of the car so in this case the car was crshed at 40-45 mph. and it is kind of scary how the glass shaderd in the front.
violahco 4 years ago
These cars are very very dangerous. Not only can you see how the structure totally collapses and kills people in a 5 mile an hour impact, the hybrid BATTERIES have exploded and killed many hybrid owners! No gas guzzler has ever done that. Liberal jew media has been covering up the battery explosion scandal and only Republican media has been brave enough to report it. Go to Rush Limbaugh's website and you'll see. Patriots don't lie. Cowardly liberals lie if they can sell hybrids and solar power.
LatteLiberal 4 years ago
Little stupid Ami. Poor Boy. I want spend you some IQ, but i am not able to change bred in brain.
Behjot40 4 years ago
Well the Ford Crown Victoria's had a problem where if they were struck at high speeds in the rear they would explode....
PriusHybrid 4 years ago
This comment has received too many negative votes show
Crown Victorias do NOT explode.
LatteLiberal 4 years ago
No, It was a recall from the Ford motor company themselves.... Oil companies have their rights, but we have our rights too and if we want to save gas instead of driving huge pointless SUV's then we don't have to and they can get over it. I personally have a Ford Explorer, a Chevrolet Tahoe with the 5.3 V8 and a Highlander Hybrid.
PriusHybrid 4 years ago 2
LatteLiberal if the world was your way it would be like this:People dead everywhere due to poor safety laws, global warming wouldnt be curable, our government would be stacking their riches all day (not that they dont already, *ahem*the Bush family), and oil companies would have even greater domination than they do now. So gass prices would be $20 per gallon and everyone would be driving hummers that they cant afford because the oil companies and the government have all the money. Your retarded.
5james5 4 years ago
You fucking dumb ass these cars do NOT explode if you crashed a 5mph or else Toyota wouldent be able to sell them or they could get sued!God You dont know how pissed I am at you!You always down grate the prius! You know this car could save our earth one day!
hotbutt13 3 years ago
Heh, that didn't stop Ford from mass producing the Pinto!
thunderstruck665 3 years ago 3
My question is at what speed do they test?
Lexilla 4 years ago
about 40-45 mph... now that seems slow, but remember, no brakes used at NIHS, if in real life, you press brakes in time, you should hit w/e at about 45mph, unless you are speeding alot (+80mph)
flyingjackal456 4 years ago
thank you very much!! I appreciate it alot!
Lexilla 4 years ago
Do not buy this car. It will hurt jobs in the oil industry and put soldiers out of work. Do you want more unemployment? If you are a patriot buy something that gets less than 30 MPG. If you're a coward and don't care about safety, buy a Prius.
LatteLiberal 4 years ago
excuse me but a prius is a great car my friend has on and it is awsome it is one of the few cars that have the cargo room of an SUV and still get 50+ miles to the gallon, and the oil working pepole could presevetje oil they caacht and turn it into somthing mor useful like e85 and the the enviorment and the pepole will both be happy. and besides the prius dose stink in the fact that it dose not offer powere seats and dual a/c.
violahco 4 years ago
goddamn liberals!
flyingjackal456 4 years ago
the result isn't perfect, you can see that on front impact the doors bend. You don't get this in a 5 star car. is this 4 stars?
350kmh 4 years ago
5 star frontal (Driver)
4 star frontal (passenger)
4 star side (both driver and passenger)
flyingjackal456 4 years ago
actually for the 2008 it is 5 star in passenger b/c of the therso airbag.
violahco 4 years ago
in the side test the intirior plastic of the a pillar came off.
violahco 4 years ago
thanks for the correction.... BTW- I actually own a 2005 with 103,000 miles (I purchased new) I still have the original brakes. I had the transmission fluid done 3 times, oil a bunch of times, and it's on 2nd set of tires, but all-in-all. Great car and no problems with it.
flyingjackal456 4 years ago 3
I thoght that you did not have to change the transmition fluids on a prius becuse it is varible timeings.
violahco 4 years ago
Different dealers say different things. Personally I feel that NO lubricant lasts forever, besides it's cheap to do it once every 30,000 miles.
