  • I always ask myself why belgium has an army. an useles army

    now let's celebrate 2012

  • great use of special forces in modern warfare, i guess you can say germany perfected modern warfare , great warriors just bad leadership

  • the belgiums didnt have a chance against the most training peretroops in the world but it seems very ridiculous that 21 german troops beet an entire fort

  • It seems relatively easy for German soldiers to attack and occupy Belgium. Citizens and police officers seemed even cooperative.

  • @notaire2 LOL to quote E Murphy

Blacks nowadays act like they couldn’t have been slaves. “I wish I was a slave, I would fuck somebody up! I would been on the street and shit, would’ve come up and say, ‘Ay, boy bale this cotton!’ I would say, ‘Suck my dick, massa!’” The first dude who got off the boat said that shit.

    “Bale that cotton!

“Fuck you motherfucker! [crack of a whip] The other motherfuckers said, “We’ll bale the shit. Just keep that fucking shit away from me.”

  • id give a pretty penny to be alive to see the invasion of normandy..... what a sight that would be

  • Thanks for posting this video. Very imformative, gets you a sense of how formidable the fort was, its surrounding views, and the nearby towns.

  • did anyone die?

  • @Demarchist WTF ITS A WORLD WAR!!!!!!!!! DO YOU BOT KNOW HOW MUCH BEMGIANS HAVE DIED!!!!

  • @jarnfan1000 12? i'm just guessing..

  • @Demarchist there c.a. 1200 men fallen

  • @jarnfan1000 Heb je nu echt niet door dat ik maar een grapje maakte?

  • @Demarchist Is da miss om te lachen?! Klojo. Heb wa respect.

  • Its sad .... that so much of blood vained in this war.... so much life

so many so many ..... innocents too

I hope it was th last one ever

    MayGod bless all

  • as long as our race survives, there will be war, torment, and indecisiveness among us..

  • All war is sad...Especially how many people lost their lives. I mean that for both sides. Rockeller and his rich buddies were the ones that funded the wars on both sides..Now I wonder why hummm? Who is the real enemy here?

  • Unfortunately, your hope does nothing against History. According to history, there have been plenty since then. Korean War. Vietnam War. Iran-Iraq War. Yugoslav Wars. Arab-Israeli War. Gulf War. Current Iraq War and the Current Afghanistan War. To name a few of the ones you seem to have missed since 1945.

  • you know they attacked without warning on this fortress and at night with flyers they attacked the spotters postions first with a secret weapon they never used artiliry on this fortress

  • i've been in this fortress O.o

damm it's so freaking huge ^^

  • Ha Ha! Auwidesien und Hello all S.S in occupied Europe! Despite the efforts of yankee and zionist worlds govt ,bastions of Germanic freedom remain! Heil !

  • this beats u.s. propaganda..

  • Have any of you acully fougth in this war?

  • both my granparents did :) one on each side

  • Really? Same here. One Grandfather in the RAF, the other in the Wehrmacht. What about you?

  • WAFFEN SS and carsons raiders wow cool

  • my grandfather was to young (born in 1933) but he helped 2 crashed RAF-pilots to survive, he hided them in the woods, and when it became to dangerous, he took them in their basement to keep them out of the hands of the wehrmacht, the two pilots could return safely to england.

  • Respect for Belgium and all other brave man who kept fighting for their country!

  • So did the germans... And like Belgium did a lot... Belgium army was ruled by french speaking assholes. WW2 did good for that

  • @Jona0012 thx dude im belgan and lots of my grand familie was in that war :)

    (sorry for the bad english)

  • A brutal attack on a small defensless country which people only want to live in peace - as all others

wow war is so stupid and terrible !

  • are you referring to iraq?

  • If you want to give information, do it properly. Till 1918 Rwanda and Burundi were German colonies, but then given to Belgium, just as the region of Eupen-Malmedy, as a compensation for violating Belgium's independence and terrorising innocent civilians. So Germany was also a colonizing power. And it was king Leopold the second who introduced the cutting policy. After the government took the kolonies it mostly ended. And that kind of cruel policy happened everywhere in the world and stillhappens

  • heydrich shut the fuck up...you don't know what you are talking about!!

  • Look who is talking! From Italy!? You committed enough crimes in North Africa, which makes the Boer-wars look like boys scout. Go cook something if you want to help humanity.

  • Comment removed

  • The fall of Eben Emael. Not many remember it now. But is was importent to say the least.

  • We will always be known as cowards. What a shame.

  • I disagree. Many Fench units put up one hell of a fight. You deserve our respect. Its that Marshal Petain dude...hes your problem

  • the french arnt cowards its just that tehre to small in WW2 you had resistance fighters that we very helpfull in the fight by geting british spys into the country

  • *ahem* we won.

  • hell yeah

  • At those time Luettich or Liege in french was still a pretty town. But today? One of the ugliest towns of Europe and not due to war times but because of corrupt immobile traders.

  • Liege itself is a pretty town, renewed every year. We'll get a new train station, quite impressive and beautiful !

  • I had been in Liege in 1987 as student fellow and spent some days 1999 during a bicycle tour along the maas river. I was shocked about the traffic and the buildings. No historic intact quarters. The mansions and skyscrapers made me feel the anxiety coming up my bones. Even the GDR Plattenbauten are not as ugly as these architectural crimes with their bunker like looking shape.

  • how long did the battle of Belgium campaign took?

  • 26-27 days

  • oh sorry, 26 days in 1914 - only 18 days in 1940.

  • lol thats quicker then the iraq war in '03.

  • Keep in mind that the Belgian army stood against an overwhelming number of German soldiers and still kept on fighting until may 28. Holding back the German war machine for 18 days is still quite impressive.

For example, the Holland campaign had a very small number of German divisions attacking on may 10, consisting of mainly older soldiers. Holland capitulated after 4 days.

  • Iraqi army soldiers stood against a larger force and still lost..Just like the war in Belgium 1940.

  • it was one of the best assaults in german history, They destroyed all major gun inplacements in about 30 minutes, yet the Belgians held out with no reinforcements and while being bombed by their backup fortress of Liege for another 24 hours, before the general surrendered the fortress. The fact that it took longer allowed the governement to flee to england through duinkerk

  • Well even if the Belgian soldiers held out, what did they have to repell german attacks; Even if there gun inplacements were destroyed? Ex: AT-mines, AP-mines, gernades, & magnetic mines.

  • check out - Dangerous Missions: " The Fall of Eben-Emael " - on youtube. for more details on what we had ;)

  • actually Belgium was never fully occupied in 14-18 , and was the only line in the trench wars that never shifted. The bloodiest standoff for soldiers on the line.

  • Nie wieder

  • One of the most amazing commando operations of the entire war
