This song is easy to play on guitar. D and G chords, and if you want to get the same tone, get a Fender amp, use the clean channel, with treble in 2, and bass in 7.5. Also best to play a telecaster. And if you want, you can also buy a MXR Phase 90 pedal to make it ring better.

Ralph Mooney is in the pantheon of pedal steel guitar players.

Waylon was known as having the best steel guitar player in the world at that time.

Ralph Mooney is legendary for his third pedal setup and was a session player on many of Waylon's albums.

In 1983, Ralph Mooney was inducted into the "Steel Guitar Hall of Fame".
