Robert, one thing I've never agreed with you about the Unicorn gundam is the difficulty of the transformation. I wouldn't call it simple but I think it's rather straight forward to do. I've turned mine from Unicorn to destroy numerous times and only the first time had me impatient. After that, it can be done in a few minutes no problem.
@ontogc All of gundam is owned by bandai, you may find companies like tt hongli that make kits but those are knock offs meaning they have poor quality. Stick to bandai and you'll not be displeased.
It looks good but i wouldint call it full armor UC gundam, i think something like fully armed or weaponized UC gundam would have sound better but its not a big thing
Great review of this kit. Personally, I never liked this kit when I saw it, too much of a brick and I wasn't really very impressed with the weapons they included. I do like the Base Jabber though.
I'll probably wait for an HGUC version. That would take up less space on the shelf and wouldn't cost over 100 bucks. Can't say this Master Grade doesn't tempt me though.
comparing this fa unicorn with the old unicorn ka version, i found out my old unicorn ankle has more strong connection and joint than the new one. i will try to swap all the weapons to my old one and let's see what happens. tho the old one psychoframe are very loose.
about the shoulder joints, for me, when I pull them out all the way, they pop out the shoulder vulcans while transforming so I don't have to pick them out with a knife. I'm not sure if that's really what's supposed to happen, but I'm pretty sure it's not broken and it actually makes things a bit more convenient.
@blvk3 I like these detailed long reviews and he does not come off as a money hungry reviewer at all. You don't have to watch these if you don't want to.
@That1awesomeguy "he does not come off as a money hungry reviewer at all" Are you serious? 11 parts, about 100 minutes and alot of it is repetition, Definitely seems like he is after more views and more views= more money.
My issue with peoples reviews using complaints about parts falling off as a downside is the fact that super glue of about any sort or variety can solve the issue for most parts without giving up articulation. If you glue the right parts and areas down the whole package becomes far more stable. The parts such as the foot armor on the sides, the clips for the launchers are a prime example, if you are always going to display it with a clip in you should just glue them down.
@MegaManVolnutt97 and lose the ability to take it apart/paint/ show the inner frame=fail
BTW not to say that gluing a kit is always a bad idea. For kits with seam lines or if you plan to paint tamiya plastic cement is way superior to crazy glue
Another great video as always man. Im really tempted to pick this one up as i love the way it looks. Just on the fence at the prospect of an OVA version coming out with vulcans etc.
that the same reason i bought it. looks badass in full armor mode and thats how i'll keep it. good review and cann't wait for more (MG AGE-1 normal =) )
I just finished building the OVA ver. and it looks amazing. Though I must say the ankles are slightly weak and that tab in the back wants to flip open often. I know that you can tighten the joints by putting glue on them and put them back together after it dries. my question is what KIND of glue? :(
rrobbert you must transform only the backpack with all weapons but let the gundam in unicorn mode, the put it on the base jabber and you got the base jabber attack mode
Personally, I think those problems are something I could work with. I mean, all joints can be tightened if you know what to do. :P I will definitely pick this up when I have the money.
Looks amazing, but I don't know if I'd want to deal with parts coming off and stuff. My Strike Rough was only doing that with the ankle armor and that was already driving me nuts.
About the shoulder, at the base of the peg of the shoulder to torso connection there is a little protrusion. That protrusion goes into a little inlet together with the peg keeping the shoulder in place, so the shoulder was never meant to move out from the torso and you probably broke that Rrobbert.
Anyway great review, i had a blast building it, and it looks like an absolute beast
I remember seeing the initial pictures of the Full Armor Unicorn in Hobby Japan and it had gray boosters as well as the shields being gray. I'm not sure what I like more though, the gray in the pictures or the actual white.
@Tahkaullus01 Naaaaah... Heavyarms never had the falling over repeatedly issue. Plus Heavyarms' is way more mobile than the Unicorn. (I'd like to see the "incredible brick" even attempt to do a front flip with a triple axil spin... it's just not happening) lol
I think it's really weird that the gundam holds his javelin like that. This thing really pops out at me, but after the Zeta C1 Plus, I'm really not ready for a kit that will give me problems like that. Still, it looks badass.
@RobsGamingNetwork what kind of problems did you have with the zeta c1 plus? i just finished building it, applying decals, and top coat, but, during the build i didnt really encounter any problems o__o
@RobsGamingNetwork aw man yeah i know what you mean, although personally i enjoyed that aspect of it, it was kind of a pain to construct the whole torso. The thing i hated the most about it though was that cloth wire piping, pain in the butt to get it right Lol what i do like about the kit though is how sturdy it is after and the locking mechanism for the hip joints to keep it from splitting arent too bad. They could be better, but eh, sorry to hear you didnt quite enjoy it as much XD
@HPZ0NE for the OVA version they included 3 options, a transformable v-fin, the unicorn horn, and an already transformed v-fin. the one he was talking about was the already transformed v-fin i think.

Model kits are display pieces anyway, Gunpla just has articulation.
I also build a few tank models myself and those tend to be fixed pose all the time.
