I love some Bayside. Seen the live in Greensboro NC at Greenstreet. Fucking amazing. I only love one band more than Bayside. Brand New. If you think Raneri is a genius you haven't heard Jesse Lacey.
I love the chord progression and vocals at the end. Mostly the melody of the vocals, but lyrics are great as well. And the bass throughout the song is awesome... man I'll just say this song is awesome. period.
I get goosebumbs from this song... this song was the song that got me in the band... man this song is so inspirational to me. I love the lyrics... who thinks this song is good for 'bad days?' moment? But seriously this whole album is good by far... Im used to this album more than any of their other albums
I think its about betrayal, possibly a friend who turned against him or the group.
Things like "Hold a mirror to show just what you've become" and "As for the rest of us, we'll do fine with what we have, making the best of what is left."
Saying that they have "half a life" probably means that they were hurt by the betrayer but life doesn't feel the same without him/her
