This is an ill conceived argument used by the anti abortion people. Obviously rich people shouldn't be the only ones to have children, no one is suggesting such an idea, but haven't you noticed that the smaller the family the better each child is treated? The poor don't "produce" more children to earn more money. Children cost money to feed. They produce children because they are deprived of birth control.

If it is a choice between nothing and a bowl of rice most take the rice. If you cannot afford to send your kids to school you can't afford to feed them ether.
