That is remarkable music.Discovered your band this morning. I hope you can organise a tour of Australia at your earliest convenience and bring Sarah Jarosz with you all too.
@waltavoc Crazy enough, but I just found Sarah Jarosz tonight and it brought me here. Both of them together at a show would make for one spiritually uplifting evening. Euphoric mood I would imagine.
saw the colbert report the other night with Goat Rodeo Sessions and checked out the youtube stuff on them. noticed a woman singing and decided to find out who she was.. Crooked Still, you indirectly got a "colbert bump", and you have another fan.
@Hydrometers Yeah...I was just thinking he was kind of doing a gypsy bluegrass cello kind of thing...and it goes good with the kind voice kind of thing Aoife.
I saw this young lady on the tonight show with jay leno the other night with Yo Yo Ma and friends. She is a wonderful talent. Thank God for youtube or I'd probably never have heard of many of the artists in the genre of bluegrass. I appreciate all kinds of music since I am a musician myself. This is as good as it gets.
that is NOT tristan on the cello - tristan plays in the current band however...that is rushad in this older vid. how is rushad doing these days. anyway? he rocked!
@rockyjohnstone Cello rocks big time! I used to play in a Scottish Celtic band and we had a cello, sounded great and set us apart. Funny thing was, it was something which existed in the old tradition way back.
In high school Rushad used to play our conversations on his cello so you'd hear every word and inflection. He transformed this song from wistful and beautiful to something that makes you want to dance with joy. Intensely amazing.
do all these girl bluegrass groups sound the same or is it just me

My friend recently died, and I really was just searching for a song to ease the pain.
This one uplifted me, a shone a little light in the darkness.
Beautiful..

Extraordinarily beautiful!

That is Rushad Eggelston on cello.
He was the original cellist. Tristan took over when Rushad left.

Rushad is awesome. He has melded the cello with some unconventional genres.

@millsclear With all due respect, I beg to differ. The cello is part of the bands signature sound imho.

This is so great. Thanks for sharing. As pointed out by @songsfromahat, that's actually Rushad Eggleston on cello (this was the old line-up).
