  • Awesome and beautiful

  • What a crock. Buddy Guy and Pete Townsend are overrated players Jimi is a 100% Spiritual player I find this to be an insult to the most creative rock/ r&b blues

    player in our short lifetime.

    . DLW

  • Damn, you have the greatest tone I have ever heard.

  • Hey, jimicolors!! Very, very nice playing!

I'm a lefty too (only on guitar), and I'm curious to know did you have any extra hassle with modifying right-handed Strat for upside-down playing? Besides nut? Thanx!!!

  • small improvisation=big arse talent creativity :)

  • Nice playing and tone

  • COOOOL WORK MAN !!!! AMAZING !!! PEACE AND BLUES FOR ALL!!!

  • I hear so many influences, yet just making it your thing. Such beautiful playing, great tone, and soul to it. Thank you...

  • I struggle to get excited by Hendrix Please help me!!!

  • I struggle to get excitec by Hendrix Please help me!!!

  • Awesome.

I´m brasilian. If you could, translate all the message. Bad english.

E muito bom saber que ainda hoje existem guitarristas que não simplesmente tocam, mas sentem o que estão tocando. Um grande abraço do Brasil a voce. Meus sinceros parabéns.

    Hendrix forever.

  • Great tone man. Respect

  • Can i ask..... Are you actually left handed or do you just play left handed. You are an extremely good player!

  • @164jord Thank you,

I play left hand like Jimi... was a right writer...

    Peace to you

  • @EnriqueCasal Same man!! I play lefty with a flipped guitar like jimi but write right handed! peace to you too!

  • fret buzz at 34 seconds, that shit must annoy the hell outta you. I would know because I am also a lefty who restrung a right handed guitar so I can relate to you.

  • Great licks!

  • hey man very good feeling and tone. What are you playing through?

  • Thank you,

    Marshall vs65 Orange Crunch.....

  • This is... wow... wonderful, I'm impressed. Jimi would be glad and proud, I'm sure ^^

  • nice ! Really great job man

  • ...again..awesome play, intense and real, respect forever!!

  • I have great respect for artist who choose music as the genre or expression... you are very talented my friend! I can only wish to play remotely close to that, but as they say... "set your mind to something and one can achieve"!

  • Hendrix stole his entire live show from Buddy Guy...Jimi loved buddy. Jimi also ripped off Pete Townsend's amp set up. These are all really mute points cause Jimi took what he learned and took it to a new universe and an entirely new level. All good musicians borrow and mimic/steal until they find something in the mix that they can call their own...you can believe that neither Buddy Guy or Pete Townsend are upset at the fact that they help shaped a legends sound! Rock on....

  • @Murfman40 U forgot to mention T-Bone Walker, playing behind his head and allot of his licks, lets not forgot everyone got their style from someone else and made it their own, Buddy Guy was never the guitarist Hendrix was.

  • who you influenced by, what do you play?

  • Sorry for the delay.... I play my own song like it come, simply some blues chords...

    thank you

    Peace

  • what can i say to previous coment:- sour puss!

  • Let me clarify what I said 3 comments ago: I meant to say Hendrix' guitar licks were not totally original unlike his act. But even certain elements of his act weren't 100% original 'cause guitarists in the chitlin circuit where he cut his musical teeth, were doing those tricks (playing behind the back, etc.) and he picked up on it, incorporated a few tricks of his own and became world-famous for it along with his brand new special effects-embellished and louder than loud, sound.

    Electrix

  • @electrixladyland69 so fuck mate, its jimi hendrix...who is going to argue with that.

  • And one more thing, blsplr51, et. al: Stevie Ray Vaughn was influenced by other guitarists outside of Hendrix and King. That's a fact. SRV took those influences and synthesized it into his own style--like ALL great (and no so great) musicians do.

    Electrix

  • Great performance, Enrique.

    Electrix

  • Listen here, blsplr51: James Marshall Hendrix worshipped and copied licks from old blues masters like Muddy Waters, Guitar Slim, John Lee Hooker, Albert King, and so forth. So don't make it sound like he was TOTALLY ORIGINAL because he wasn't.

So take your own advice and go get "some music knowledge" before you spout off.

    Electrix

  • That tone is to die for.

    Playings unbelievable.

    What are you using?

  • just a Marschall and a hold Strat...

    thanks

    Peace

  • How do you learn this stuff it sound a lot like hendrix...

  • All I've learned come from Jimi

    Thank you

    Peace to you

  • Hendrix wrote the book, SRV read a few chapters and made a career of it.

  • Funny story

  • Thats because SRV copied Jimis licks as well as Albert Kings.......duhh.....

  • I'm hearing a bit of clapton in the low end

  • Sounds alot more like blues for Stevie R V!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • In what way?

  • If you cant hear SRV in this you cant hear much,

& theres not much that can be done for you!!!!

  • SRV's hero was Hendrix. Not vice versa

  • Do ya think?? that maybe its because SRV copied and studied Hendrix???? Duhh?

  • Get a clue...SRV worshipped and copied Jimis licks as well as Albert Kings.Get some music knowledge before you spout off lol...

  • Love the tone! ~cg5

  • One of the few good youtube followers. You deserve to be heard

  • sweet!!!!

  • people who do not know that Jimi is dead may think that you are jimi!

  • enrique is god.

  • Wow Enrique, you are fa-fa-fa-fantastic! You have so many clips that I missed this one. Glad I found it.

  • frantastic stuff!!!!

  • Really really good !!!!!!

  • did you used some efects?

  • This guy is the best player on youtube. Takes Hendrix to a new level.

  • no he doesnt....hes just a brilliant cover player....theres no new level

  • Can someone explain me the theory behind all this :D What chord progression, what solo boxes and stuff?

  • @nanathenai

My best advice for you is to youtube Steviesnacks, or Gr8bluesguitar and under his videos you will find the 5 essential blues boxes and you will understand a lot more of this.

  • Awesome...!!! :o

    You're my idol man!!

    Long life Jimi Hendrix!!!..:D

  • That is a BEAUTIFUL guitar! But more importantly, great tone! And man, great playing.

I'm so glad I bumped into your vids.

  • You're a fine player man! I know it's taken' a lifetime to play that way.. I'm with you.. You really got the feel for Hendrix, specifically, the more subtle playing a la Curtis Mayfield, Bobby Womack... style - Love your slow Blues very much too! As long as I've been playin' (a Lifetime too) I love some of the things I'm picking up from your playing... BTW I think "Angel" is my favorite Jimi song ever... Absolutely Beautiful! God bless!

  • ohhhhh fuckin ayye.

    very nice

  • wow

  • you are lucky with 65 strat man!

    Rogério (Brasil)

  • WOOOW!! You're veery good! I hope i will play so good like you in future!

  • I'm so sad on your behalf... You got the 'Blues'

so ingrained in your soul and fingers... Jimi didn't live in vain.

Nice old Strat by the way.

  • i dig your sound man, i never heard someone play the style of jimi like you, you are amazing.

  • now get totaly wasted and play it. I know that it is not the politicaly correct thing to say but I think that it is missing. How would you play it if yu were on th edge and not comfortable?

  • you are awesome!!!

  • nice tone, people tend to forget Jimi was a supreme bass player, which worked its way into his pieces, you're getting there though, nice playing!i recommend flipping your pickups around and popping in a three way toggle if you arent already sporting one, cheers

  • even left handed like the dead god jimi hendrix himself

  • you've got the blues!

are we sure it isnt him..:)? damn fine piece of music your playing here, keep on playing..!

    take care

  • You make BB King

    Jimi Hendrix Proud

    I respect you.

  • you very bluesy man!

  • who cares wat it sounds like its good

  • JIMI IS ALIVE!!! LoL ... REALLY NICE MAN...

  • sounds more like Buddy Guy to me

  • thats awsome, if i didn't know that this wasn't a hendrix song, i would think this was some incredible lost recording

  • That was just fantastic, from one lefty to another.... That was smooth and sweet and just delightful!

  • when i see that thumb moving and that guitar upside down i might think you are lying maybe you are sixtyfour and living in the caribbean hey jimi are you alive ha ha

  • you are the best on this stuff man

  • Right on man. That was pretty groovy. Makes me wish I kept my guitar and learned how to play it.

  • no offense, you've picked up a lot from Jimi...cool, but Jimi was into originality rather than individuals that copied others... but i understand...jimi has inspired me more than any other single source. I was fortunate enough to see him perform live. Jimi and Django....nuf said...

  • At one time or another most guitarists try their hand at Hendrix and it is often the most awkward moment in their musical life. You however would make Jimi proud!

  • I disagree. Every artist should not imitate noone or even call homself like another artist otherwise they die as artists.

  • Jaaammmmiin. sweet.

  • no words can describe what u have done....

but listining to this is why i got into guitar...

    thankyou

  • no words can describe what you have done here........

    we are all proud....

peace out. J.M.H spirit lives on........

  • Enrique, I went back and viewed this video again, since it is your "most watched". I am always inspired by your work, which makes me want to try new things on my Strat, especially "Angel".

  • Whew! That was absolutely GREAT! You were workin' that thumb.

  • What settings did you use? I know its highly unlikely that if I use the same settings on my amp I will get no where near your tone in this video, but I wouldn't mind trying!

  • hee man your still alive peace

  • so clean my friend

  • Pick it brother!....I hear S.R.V. and Hendrix at the same time in your playing............

  • I think rosewood looks better but it can be different for everyone so... :D by the way this guitar and video is extremely fantastic

  • Dude, any reason for the Rosewood neck? Btw, best playing I've seen on all of YouTube ;)

    Except Hendrix of course :)

  • what kind of amp did you use

  • I have never seen here man who would play blues so similar to Hendrix. AWSOME

  • Nice Playing. I can hear a lot of SRV in your music....Sounds Great!

  • that's because srv was influenced by jimi :x, so what you're really hearing is jimi

  • great playin man ..and for the ones who compare him and jimi;they may sound similar but everyone has a different type of playing and "good" may not be same for every one.

  • yo i love all your videos... this tone is divine

  • Lots of respect for setting up your strat just like Jimi. Your tremolo is bang on, lord knows you are a voodoo chile, knock down that mountain.

  • very cool... I love this song and you do it so well.

  • No offense to some of you, but he isn't half as good as Hendrix was. Still great though.

  • Yo... we're not talking about absolute skill & technique... its the feel and spirit of Mr. Casal that we admire, in this day and age of fast, furious & loud music!

    So back off...

  • its upside down bcos hes left handed

  • ok i'm a realist...and you are just as good as hendrix....beggin for your version of pali gap

  • beautifull, very nice man... Live Free

  • i know the strings are the right way but why is your guitar upside down?

  • its a hendrix tribute strat, jimi hendrix play a righted strat restrung upside down to fit for a left

  • It's great to hear a strat on it's own!

    Nice playin' jimicolors.
