What a crock. Buddy Guy and Pete Townsend are overrated players Jimi is a 100% Spiritual player I find this to be an insult to the most creative rock/ r&b blues

fret buzz at 34 seconds, that shit must annoy the hell outta you. I would know because I am also a lefty who restrung a right handed guitar so I can relate to you.
I have great respect for artist who choose music as the genre or expression... you are very talented my friend! I can only wish to play remotely close to that, but as they say... "set your mind to something and one can achieve"!
Hendrix stole his entire live show from Buddy Guy...Jimi loved buddy. Jimi also ripped off Pete Townsend's amp set up. These are all really mute points cause Jimi took what he learned and took it to a new universe and an entirely new level. All good musicians borrow and mimic/steal until they find something in the mix that they can call their own...you can believe that neither Buddy Guy or Pete Townsend are upset at the fact that they help shaped a legends sound! Rock on....
@Murfman40 U forgot to mention T-Bone Walker, playing behind his head and allot of his licks, lets not forgot everyone got their style from someone else and made it their own, Buddy Guy was never the guitarist Hendrix was.
Let me clarify what I said 3 comments ago: I meant to say Hendrix' guitar licks were not totally original unlike his act. But even certain elements of his act weren't 100% original 'cause guitarists in the chitlin circuit where he cut his musical teeth, were doing those tricks (playing behind the back, etc.) and he picked up on it, incorporated a few tricks of his own and became world-famous for it along with his brand new special effects-embellished and louder than loud, sound.
And one more thing, blsplr51, et. al: Stevie Ray Vaughn was influenced by other guitarists outside of Hendrix and King. That's a fact. SRV took those influences and synthesized it into his own style--like ALL great (and no so great) musicians do.
Listen here, blsplr51: James Marshall Hendrix worshipped and copied licks from old blues masters like Muddy Waters, Guitar Slim, John Lee Hooker, Albert King, and so forth. So don't make it sound like he was TOTALLY ORIGINAL because he wasn't.
So take your own advice and go get "some music knowledge" before you spout off.
My best advice for you is to youtube Steviesnacks, or Gr8bluesguitar and under his videos you will find the 5 essential blues boxes and you will understand a lot more of this.

You're a fine player man! I know it's taken' a lifetime to play that way.. I'm with you.. As long as I've been playin' (a Lifetime too) I love some of the things I'm picking up from your playing... BTW I think "Angel" is my favorite Jimi song ever... Absolutely Beautiful! God bless!
