I've rode a 1098 and a 1198s, The 1198s handing was much better than the standard 1098, would the 1098 s version handle as good as the 1198s as I'm considering buying a 1098s.
@freeclimb64 I now own an 1198s and really happy with the handling. Done a trackday too, so i've really experienced what she can do. I will say there is a noticeable difference and that being the fact that one model feels lighter to turn due to the lighterweight wheels. The ohlins do feel better but I wouldn't say the forks matter as much as the wheels. I also think the wsb/bsb control tyre is amazing, considering my bike has the same rubber as the race teams. Crazily sticky, even at road speed
ducati wolverhampton! i was gonna get my 1098 from there, they were the most snotty nosed gits i've ever met! went to clay cross in the end, superb service!!!
sounds sort of like a Hardley.. lol

@benjyboba
I do own a 2007´ 1098S Tricolore.
For beginners - there is no difference between 1098 and 1098s.
The difference comes, if you go for extremes.
No one, including you, try that extreme handling in street.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
tru because a Ducati is only a V2 while the Japanese bikes are V4 but Ducatis are meant for road racing anyway.

I stopped accelerating my1098S Tricolore at 279 km/h (174mph),
there was enough power left to go for 300 and more.
AND: 190kg related to 125 kW, enormous torque, what japanese bike can stand that?
...Zero????
