I would buy a one ounce gold coin for $50 any day, let the value build up to a couple thousand, and then sell it; but not from some random guy off the street.

It costs a helluva a lot of money (tens of thousands) to forge a government mint coin well enough to pass a close inspection. I actually just came across this guy last night on wikipedia when there was a link to him on a conspiracy theory page. I thought "oh good, another guy that's woken up and has something important to impart upon us." WRONG! he not only seems to have nothing original to add that intelligent people like david icke haven't already laid out clearly, but all I've seen of him on here are pointless, counterproductive, insulting, completely invalid "surveys" (maybe he should take intro to methodology)

Nobody in this police state would carry around a coin that has ".999 Pure Gold" printed on it when it is not...let alone manufacture it...and then tape themselves trying to sell it because everyone (even those idiots who turned his offer down) know that if the FEDS even got one whiff of a scam like that they'd be kicking doors in before the Judge even put pen to search/arrest warrant.

Tungsten fakes are pretty rare for these. The fakes tend to be for numismatic collectibles. I think you would be pretty hard pressed to find a fake maple, if not impossible. Even so, a known fake would have collectible value - believe it or not - and would be worth the risk. Most people do not think that way. Also a guy with a microphone is probably not a scamster, he is probably on a mission. Wish I was there that day!

It's possible these people may really not have any cash and may have never seen a gold maple. In a small town, try withdrawing more than $5K in cash. Most small town banks have very little cash on hand. Electronic digits are at risk. People should close their electronic bank accounts and convert all of their holdings to cash with a percentage of PM's.

The truth is someone selling a one ounce gold coin for $50 sounds too good to be true, and 999 times out of a thousand, if it sounds too good to be true it is. They thought it was a fake.

Now, the States have a Gold Buffalo that is equal purity. However, Canada now issues 99.999% gold called "five nines" but not all 1 Oz coins have it. The most valuable coins in the world are Canadian million dollar gold coins worth 5 million dollars each.

I would assume you would see more in Califorinia than say Colorado, Michigan, Pennsylvania, etc.. but yeah it isn't an unusual sighting. And if you say you don't want it because you don't think its real then they just try to convince you it is real.
