Neil Armstrong's parents appeared on this show in 1962, the day he was selected to be an astronaut (he was already flying for NASA at the time as a civilian test pilot). The host actually asked his mother how would they feel if their son was chosen to be first to land on the moon. (They asked this in 1962!)
I read in the Guinness Book of Records that he holds, or at least one time did, hold the record for largest birthday party with the guest of honour present. It was for his 89th birthday party in Louisville, with about 15,000 people there I believe.
@63utuber I found that clip...the show aired December 1, 1963. It was the practice at that time to tape a second episode some Sundays, before the live broadcast, and this one was taped a couple of weeks before. Thus, it is possible it was originally meant to air November 24th (at 10:30 that night all three networks aired Prince Phillip's arrival at Idlewild Airport to attend President Kennedy's funeral).
I met Col Sanders when I was 4. I still remember it very well. By the way that's 2million 1950's dollars.

Col. Sanders mentions that he is 74, so this puts this episode of the show in 1964-1965.

Don't think they ever even said the full name, "Kentucky Fried Chicken", but he did get in a "finger lickin' good."

@brithgob Another secret...it was Wendy's founder Dave Thomas who coined the name "Kentucky Fried Chicken"

This has to be after his What's my Line? appearance, but once again, the panel does not seem to recognize him.
