2 things. 1) Red Bulls were missing lots of starters, too, and played mostly reserves in the second half. 2) Pre-season games are quite meaningful for EPl teams, because the reserves want to demonstrate that they're good enough to stay on the squad. Man City got beat fair and square. Just like Man U got beat by Kansas City.

They have just signed a new left back for £19 who will take Bridge's place. Both Bellamy and Adebayor will find their chances more limited due to the arrival of Silva and the expected arrival of Balotelli, not to mention all of the other players they are being linked with.
