  • Mr. Washer30, I like your Hotpoint! It is very quiet. I imagine it is not relatively new? I thought No domestic top-load agitator washers are made in the UK now.

  • The best detergents for colors is ones that don't have oxy bleach OR optical Brighteners. I use German Persil Color Gel, Miele Ultra Color powder and US Cheer Color Guard liquid(no longer made).

  • what is the first song in this video

  • LOL, missisippi by Pussycat! I sadly have that on 45. Top loaders are making quite a comeback with maytag and admiral importing them from the states.

  • @yorkshiretraction You have to watch the Maytags & Admiral. Both are made by Whirlpool here in USA. Admiral is a very basic machine, and the Maytag's don't do a full-fill rinse unless you set the selector to a "Yes" for fabric softener. Otherwise, the machines just spin very slowly and shower-rinse the clothes, not at all effective! That's thanks to the intrusion of the GD US Government dictating energy & water savings!

  • That is a technical problems of that hand-washing-machine system. Probably, needs fix-it or replace possible made a new ones.

  • I didn't know that England also had the top loading machines with the agitator in them as well.

  • i hate it when fools put music to their videos.... especially when the whole point is to see and HEAR the video!!!

  • add some more videos

  • i prefer these machines, shame im on a water meter

  • think it does 3 rinses?

  • it is interesting to note how you load the clothes . I used to own one of these Hotpoints and would load it while after it filled with water and started agitating or load it while it was filling then i would place the filter tray on spiralator with detergent. mine had a fault as the washing action started as soon as water entered tub which was rough on the clothes when they were dry.

  • g8, my mum had one in the 80's it was ok, but brutal on my designer jeans and made a mess of them, (i used to slide a knife in the plastic drum so it would leak water everywhere) finally she bought a proper washer, so my clothes washed ok

  • How many rinses does it do?

  • aaahh ive been rick rold

  • how long is 40 degree wash

  • Hi neat washer just wanted to know the name of the first song playing is it debbie gibson? If not what is the name of the song?

  • BLOODY NORA! I said a month ago that I bought Sinitta's "So Macho" in London in 1984!!! Guess you can't read.

  • YES I deleted my original message, since nobody read it.

  • i almost thought the song when it started was you spin me round LOL!!! but this one is funnier!!!

  • buaaahahahahhaha

  • do you mean the interm. spin?

  • YEOW! Where is the fill? ( not for the Filter)

  • nice machine!!.. I still say my biggest problem wit hthe older GE / hotpoint models was no imbalance shut-off.. the tub would literally bang till the transmission overheated...

love the music!! esp the 1st and second songs... what are they?

  • 1, so macho. sinita

    2.missisippi, cant remember artist.

  • @washer30 It's "Sinitta" and "Mississippi". I got Sinitta''s 12"single in London in 1984. How about the artist for the Mississippi is Pussycats from Holland.

  • Holy f**k @ 7:33 RickRolled LOL

  • HAHAHAHA

  • at 7:11 and during the spin that can't be good for the washer.

  • it's unbalanced that's why.

  • i know that and im saying it can't be good for the washer.

  • The spin on that top loader sounded like the US Hotpoint I had from GE. However, mine was from 1996, and the lint filter on the agitator was eliminated by then. As for detergents, I didn't think there was detergent in gels. All there is in the US is powder (not big anymore, but still around in limited brands) & liquid.

  • What was the fist song at the start of the video?

  • So macho, by Sinitta.

  • I'm on my second 2nd hand 9605 since the early 90's. The gearbox of the 1st one broke, I kept it for parts and bought another. I have replaced various parts and it keeps on going. Unfortunately it is now on it's last legs. I did a repair to the sprung carbon water seal at the end of the shaft casing as the metal was breaking up and this was causing it to leak. That's now fixed, But the friction drum stop ring has now got oil on it and it moves slightly in the wash/rinse cycle making a noise.

  • that's the good thing about these classic top loaders: fast cycle times, quick cleaning power. my nan once had one of these from the 80's, but sold it for a front loading hotpoint ultima wm73. and regretted doing so

  • had one at school much older one but same machine used to use it in cooking for tea towels love it i dont think it washes very well mind u

  • you quite often see them on ebay if you want one. Ariel gel is ok but to get whites realy white you need to use a powder detergent, I won't be buying it again, I will stick to Daz powder for whites and Daz liquid for colours.

  • Nice vid (although would of been better without the music!). One of my fave machines of all time. Always wanted one and never owned one. Is that Ariel any good? I always tend to use Powder (Sains Non-Bio because I like the smell) but have recently started using Surf Small and Mighty and find it very good.
