it wasn't exactly the same problem (grub rescue, partition not found while booting on a liveusb) but your video saved my wife's documents on her laptop. Thanx so much!!
Hi, I have another problem. I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 1gb ram, Core 2 Duo T5450 1,66 GHz, running Vista Home Premium, the problem is that when I press MediaDirect (v. 3.5) button it boots and shows a message which says: "MD extended partition table error" and MD doesn't work (I have the same problem since I bought it), I tried using the recovery disk, which screwed up my OS (had to repair it), I hope I don't have to format my laptop.
This didnt help at all. It would help if you explained the problem and what you did to fix it instead of filling the video with mouth breathing. Sorry but this error has taken up so much of my time and energy. I dont want to build up my hopes at an easy walkthrough and see a video of someone magically fixing the problem by pressing keys that no one else has on there computer.
Wow, Dell is full of f*kin morons. I never even hit the god damn button, just deleted the bastard mediadirect partition and the error happened to me. This solution video isn't working for me. Good thing I made a hard drive image backup before... F*CK YOU DELL
Pushes the Media Direct button, a special button on some of Dell's computers to open up a Linux based media player without the need of an operating system.

I created a youtube account to specifically thank you for saving me hours of needlessly mucking around with partition editors and utilities.
I did this because it seems not many people are thanking you for a VERY simple alternative to starting over again with a fresh install.
THANK YOU.

Try fucking reading. "CAUSED BY DELL MEDIADIRECT".
MikehMike01 2 years ago
Perhaps I'm mistaken, but I can't see why booting into MediaDirect a few times would fix a GRUB Error 17.
Care to enlighten me? Thanks!
Atamagaii51 2 years ago
Booting into MediaDirect causes the original problem.
Instead of having to reinstall (something I've read people doing on the Ubuntu forums) you can do this instead.

Great grammar, dumb ass! By a MAC and you might become smarter than a fifth grader!!
kinetic101010 2 years ago
That's an insult to fifth graders.
MikehMike01 2 years ago
Great ignorance, layman. MAC is for those who are too dumb to operate Linux, but smart enough to avoid Windows.
Humble yourself, great asshole.
