  • Whoever made this does not know military history at all. In the first place, Rhodes was besieged three times and the first time Suleiman was not there. Also, Malta is barren but that has nothing to do with where the knights wanted to stay. Giving Malta to the knights was an honor because Malta controls the Mediterranean. Keep in mind that the knights were warriors not fat greedy people who wanted to live in a comfortable beautiful Utopia.

  • @seahorseofvenice then martin luther nothing but a lier you say :D and jews dont make Jesus crossed :D

  • @erdal0 You bet, the Turks have such a GRAND record of how well they treat their defeated opponents.

How does it feel to be a slave to an empire that peaked 400 years ago and has been going downhill ever since?

We have an expression for your type of people here in Texas. We call you Aggies.

  • @poyrazpasha europeans slaughtered around 60 000 muslims in 3 days in jerusalem in the name of jesus ,in addition to other cities being conquered by crusaders as antioch triplo ,palestine etc

  • @Ibntomort

that was the choice of the defenders, if they raised there arms, and the city fell, the attackers would burn, rape, murder everyone they could find. It was before the crusades, during the crusades and long after the crusades

  • yes so this shit we see on tv christain countries fighting muslim countries isnt really new is it. been happening for over 1000 years but this will be our doom this ongoing feud obisly we cant come to an agrement these days so its totle destruction!

  • Any story about some people kicking Mushlim ass is allways interesting...

  • I see a lot of slander here about the sultans and how bad Turks are. I only want to say this. The pitiful slanders the one he is fearful of.All the these years you portrait Turks as cruel, savage this and that ,but the truth is we are your alter ego you see on the mirror.Your bad part you don't wanna talk about,so you simply blame it to us. Don't lie to yourselves Frankies, you are just like us and u know it. Whatever we have done you have done the same one way or another.Sometimes even worse...

  • Those german knights were pretty badass seeing as they beat the most powerful army on earth at the time

  • Guys just cut the freakin crap with this Jesus vs Muhammad & Muslim vs Christians bullcrap. Seriously. You're all a bunch of freakin belligerent people living in the past. The whole lot of you. Can't you just accept eachother? Just take your babyish bickering elsewhere. This is a historical documentary so discuss history & stop calling names. I'm a Maltese person, raised as a Catholic, now an agnostic by choice. I've got Christian friends and Muslim friends. even many Turks. Just let others be.

  • Jesus is just a way better guy than Mohammed in just about every respect. Mohammed was a pretty shitty guy in alot of ways; Koran 2:217, Koran 8:67-68, Koran 8:55-57, Ever heard of Asma' Bint Marwan?

Read your own Koran its a bunch of filth, Islam is a gutter religion that breeds egotism, complacency and ultimately gets you fucked up by the Holy League / USA

  • You are judging us to bady

  • @1stREMESquaddie

  • I'm turkish

and ı'm respect the knights because no europian ever defaet Suleiman's forces

    and Mighty corsair Dragut

but luck was on the crusaders side if suleiman dont die becuse of his age ı'm very sure he was going to try again

  • @poyrazpasha The fortified city of Valletta was built on Mount Sciberrass at the end of the Great Siege to prevent any possible future attacks by the Ottomans so I very much doubt that a further attack would have been attempted. I live in Sliema, the town were Dragut died. During the Siege a cannon shot landed on the ground sending pieces of rock and cannon shot flying into him and mortally wounding him. The area of Sliema where he died is in fact called il-Ponta ta' Dragut (Dragut's Point).

  • @Sindagon2

In the fifties , we did a lot of swimming in the sea at Sliema, as soon as we left classes at Lyceo. Loved those days, friends, warm weather, easy classes. Then into the Brit Armed Forces.

  • fuck islam

    usa #1

  • @pajiad191 Wow really? Is this how deep your intellect goes?

  • An interesting and very well presented documentary. Prosit.

  • Thessalonian is Ottoman it's our !!!!!!!!

  • @YUSKHAN urs? urs is an Area around the Altai Mountains ...

  • @RedDeadRevolva

Hungarian and Bulgaria come from Altai mountains so why don't they go there

  • @YUSKHAN thats an good question ...

  • Also there are other genocides done: More than 500,000 Greeks slaughtered during the same years, and more than 250,000 Assyrians.Should I go to more recent past.In 1955 the destruction of property the killings and rape of the Greek habitants in Istanbul, the 1974 invasion and occupation in Cyprus and the Ethnic cleansing that took place.

  • @futuramark:The turks never killed children, the greeks killed the turkish kids and women in towns while the men went to war, this is what i call week AND A BARBARIAN ACTION!!!! It seems you are forgetting the genocides that Ottomans did during the years. I call it SELECTIVE MEMORY..History facts state the opposite. You forgotten the Armenian genocide between 1912-1922 that many countries recognize the genocide including France. According to historians more than 1.200.000 Armenians slaughtered

  • @TheTarxien oh really ? and how u call what Mehmed II did? ....dude fool somebody else

  • @TheTarxien big lie Mehmed II just as an example abused sexuall the 14 year old son of Notaras in front of his famaly in others...after that he killed in front of the child his famaly...meaning u having absolutly no glue what u speaking about so stop ur lies and start to wake up

  • They don't make white people like this anymore!

  • difference between turkey and europe? we actually have a history to be proud of, a history which involved impaling little turks

  • @theworldisfucked1 really? is that why we took 1/3 of euopre? is that why all the crusades was slaughtered by the turks? is that why we made genocides on you? is that why you couldnt take us out even when we were week? WHAT ARE YOU? JEOULUS LITTLE SNAILS in my eyes europeans have never been warriors and will never be

  • @sa4ir hmm Polish hussars were not warriors? then why did 14000 of them literally rape your huge army at vienna? why did a handful of maltese knights break your army at malta? why did your sultan on seeing the forest of the impaled in romania run like a worm? because it is you who are the rabble, the insignificant snails. Britain basically tore your african arabian provinces from ottoman hands, and now turkey would not stand up well to european firepower. Those are facts, not dreams.

  • @theworldisfucked1 why did the ottoman sultan brutally murder 30 thousand of his own troops? you know why? because the ottoman sultans became anti turks you know that the ottoman sultans were not even turks they married russians and europeans and so they kids became more and more western they did whatever they could to put an end to the ottomans i swear it they didnt even let turks enter istanbul they only let jews and christians come i proimse you, you have no idea of why the turks fell

  • @theworldisfucked1 Battle of lepanto 12 thousand turks vs 70 thousand britts, i really dont believe in unbalanced region or faction fighting power i do only believe in tactics the team with the best general will have the largest odds

  • Comment removed

  • @sa4ir where do you get your information from their were 31.500 turks at the battle of Lepanto and 23.000 in the christian alliance and not a single "britt" unless of course your referring to some other battle of lepanto that i cant find any information about but if their has been one i would appreciate a link

  • @captn1pugwash sry i meant battle of Preveza ofcourse

  • @sa4ir i see lol.. thank you i shall read about that with interest

  • @sa4ir you took one third of europe? well that didnt last....but hey try something like that again, and see what us snails of europeans do to you :-)

  • @theworldisfucked1 seriously, we wouldnt live without our little snail brothers that would be boring you cannot win anything in a war the only thing you do is to break the laws of humanity in my opinion. Peace

  • @theworldisfucked1 That might be scary if all your tiny bathtub countries wouldn't be filled with an ocean of tears created the moment Europe's 900 million pussies found out they might have to go to war.

  • @Shaehl ah so we are pussies? well ask yourself who are the ones blowing colonel gaddafis tanks to pieces in libya? France, and Britain, not turkey, turkey is the country criticising us for trying to overthrow a madman, protect future oil supplies, and most importantly in my view, stop him from using his entire arsenal against innocent civilians, while all the mighty turks can do is complain on how we are (obviously) taking sides, but hey turks never were known for your humanity.

  • No flag in Malta should ever be allowed to fly higher than the red and white colors. Give the Knights their token office at Fort St. Angelo, but no matter how much they've changed, keep them in their place. Don't forget how lousy they became. And stuff the EU. Malta for Malta.

  • I wish maltese were more respectful

  • Viva Malta. We saved the Mediterranean. It's a pity that no one hasn't made a movie about The Great Siege of Malta. This story has the potential to make a great movie because it's an incredible story. One of the greatest in the history of the world and still it is unknown to so many people.

  • @Kinetekist Sean Connery looks like la Vallette. But no- one seems to care about Malta. Omni Maltija mil- Belt. Blue seas even on the dullest of winter days...

  • @Kinetekist

    Just Malta?

  • @Kinetekist thats what they made you believe at school ... :)

  • Proud2beaturk

  • @sa4ir Proud 2 be an infidel

  • My heritage is of Maltese background. I am proud of this.

  • both were 70 years old?!

damn...them dudes were old for back then.

  • Most of the countries commited crimes against another Nation. The British did, Americans, China, Germans, just to name a few. The thing that must be done it is ACCEPT this crimes and apologize for them. Turks DID killed 1.5 Armenians, like Germans killed the Jews. Simply ACCEPT the fact, We don't want any crimes against humanity. We are all humans and by accepting our past, even if it hurts, we will be able to live in peace, other wise history will repeat it self over and over again.

  • @TheTarxien

You say the Catholic Church is guilty of a lot of bloodshed. Then you say we should accept our history, however hard that may be, and apologize.

I just think this wording is interesting. You assume we feel guilty or bad about what was done. Quite the contrary, the Church still defends the actions of the military orders it created and fully supported. The only reason the Crusades in the holy land would be hard to accept is that they weren't successful like the Albigensian Crusade.

  • @TheTarxien this is all rockefellers ideas as the history will repeat there will be another ww3 its proved that future builds on history u guys proved it read alll the racistic comments

  • Turks also have a lot of blood in their hands. Starting from the Genocide of the Armenians in 1914-1922( 1,500,000 slaughtered), the Greeks in 1922 (500,000 killed) the Assyrians(500,000 killed) and the Kurds, not to mention the invation, occupation of 40% of the land and Ethnic cleansing Turkey did in 1974 in Cyprus against the Greek population.Kurds are about 20 millions in Turkey. Actually you are a minority as Turks, since the Turkish Nation is made up by many other Nations and accept it

  • @TheTarxien yes, we are minority and that makes turks so powerfull, to controll and do whatever they want, even if they are an minority. you all have complex for turks i read that all the european great leaders wrote about turks they wrote about their kindness, power and how holy the turks are even bonapare said: The turks are both kind good and powerfull this is why we mus tkill the turks. OMG cmon ppl read some fucking history dont comment when you dont know what the truth is.

  • So when the Turks conquered East Roman it was an easy thing to do since it was in ruins and weak, due to the Crusaders. Pope had the chance to get rid once and for good the Orthodox Christians by not helping them to fight against the Othomans. Unfortunately Christian history and specially the Roman Catholic Church is quilty for a lot of bloodshed, either it was Christian, Muslim, Jew, or Inka and Aztec, or the Inquizition. This is something that they hold an account off and need to apologize.

  • Also the Franks used Pope and created the Schisma between the East and West Roman Church. In the 2 Crusades against Constantinople they have stolen gold, Christian Artifacts from the Orthodox Churches, and treated the Christians there in a manner that words cannot be described.Even when the Othoman Turks took over East Roman they did not behave so brudally like the Crusaders did for their Christian Brothers. The got drunk in Saints Sophia Temple and put a harlot on the Holy Table. What a shame...

  • oz83 - I will agree in many things you said like there was NO BYZANTINE empire. It was East and West Roman Empire. The real problem was the Franks that wanted to have total control over the East Part. The term Hellines(Greeks) came around the 1800's when the Franks for their own reasons helped Romans(Greeks)to start the revolution against the Othomans in 1821. The end of the East Roman Empire came NOT from the Turks but from the 2 Crusades before 1453 that destroyed complete Constantinople

  • What is this annoying and distracting "journeyman tv"?

  • lets put one thing straight my maltese brothers - if the turks had taken muatapha's plan to take mdina and the north and from marsa attack Fort St Michael and Fort St Angelo, they would have taken Malta in a week. What went wrong for them is that Piali wanted a port for his ships and the only way to enter Marsamxett harbour was conquering Fort St Elmo - the smallest of them forts, a month to conquer it and losing thousands of men

  • i geuss nowhere is safe from Mohammed Al-Hitler

  • ow and nothing against wat ur saying but balbi was a mercenary so his word cant be fully trusted, other records agree with each other, balbi's records are the only ones dat disagree most times with the other records

  • @imalivingMalteser On the contrary, Balbi's word is the most that can be trusted cos from all historians, chroniclers & writers that wrote about the great siege only he was there fighting along side the knights & Maltese, & whatever studies others made, neither of them saw what he saw. The only other eye-witness that wrote of the siege was Antonfresco Cirni but he arrived on Malta with the Main relief force which means at the very end & wrote his accounts on what he was told mostly.

  • suppressing fire i didnt say he was a hero all i said was dat he wasnt a soldier dat dispatched hundreds of enemies all i said was dat he was an informant, spy and messanger

  • sry, my mistake, Francesco Balbi was a Spanish Mercenary not Knight.

  • imalivingMalteser u were right about the British & French, & i agree that most knights were French, However the GM Hompesch was German. But about Toni Bajada u couldn't be more wrong, in the personal accounts of Chevalier Francesco Balbi di Coreggio, Bajada is mentioned at least twice as a hero who endangered his own life for swimming across the harbour, dresses as a turk & passes through the turks to deliver vital messages to Mdina.

  • He mentions that he was very familiar with Turkish language & custom cos he has spent almost 4 years as a galley-slave, he mentiones that he even discovered very important intel once on his way to La Valette about the Turkish attacks. The messages Bajada passed were sent to Mdina then to Don Garcia to try to coinvince him for Help. In captivity Bajada had his left ear cut off by a Turk for fighting against them.

  • he cant have kicked all non muslims out because crusaders claim to have killed jews aswell as muslims in jerusalem and christians still live there to this day

  • and that basically is a response to all questions and comments on this vid

  • then we let the british come in and rule us

  • mela xi zobb trid? hitler jigi hawn foxx kemm ghandek

  • in and rule us instead of the knights, den wen dey pissed us off we besieged dem and kicked them out with the help of the british

  • ow and 5 agreeing with maltamonument here, if u look over the history of the maltese islands you will find that they were never taken over by force, but because the people allowed the powers of old to enter cause they had no faith in themselves to lead themselves, and both wars we were involeved in WW2 and The Great Siege we didnt lose, and and about the french well we let em in as well cause most of the knights were french so they didnt wanna fight napoleon and so we allowed the french to come

  • 1.guys Toni Bajjada was no superhuman warrior, he was a spy that travelled to Sicily and thanks to the information he passed to the viceroy of sicily dat led to the bringing of reinforcements to malta to finally push out the ottomans once and for all so he is a hero but not a combatant hero,

2.only in your dreams will turkey ever rule the EU

    3. probably it wont even ever enter,

4.stop over selling the ottoman empire dey were nothing special

  • Really? i could be wrong but, Toni Bajjada as far as i know, was hero that blew a turkish corsair galley to bits at the same time the order's galley 'San.Gabriel' was being taken by the turks after a skirmish, Prior to the great siege. He was captured by the corsairs & after 4 years he escaped. He passed vital messages between Mdina & Birgu dressed as a Spahi Turk & discovering new iformation on his way. At least thats what i read.

  • Thanks... We can get along just well now...

  • thanks ...and totally agree we all laugh cry etc..but you must understand cultures cannot be extremely radically different..for example you can't consider of having sharia law in a european country. but i know turkey has a high percentage of christians if im correct so thats a point in favour when it comes to integrating 2 different cultures

  • Turkey is predominantly Muslim but it's perhaps the most strict secular country in the world... Christians in Turkey are those Turks with Armenian and Greek origins which constitute like 1% of the population... Non-Muslim Turks are mostly either agnostic or atheist... Not really Christian or Jew... Since Turkey is secular there is no difference between Turkey and any other secular European country except their people have different beliefs... Religion is just a private matter in Turkey...

  • I'm really interested to know the source of your outstanding accounts of Toni Bajada crushing the enemy with his bare hands. Seriously, if you can cite the source do so because it all sounds like a hotchpotch of history to me.

That he was a remarkable swimmer and of vital importance to the communication link between St Angelo and the outside world is not disputed, but you really like to spice things up don't you?

  • then read some literature from that time and you will find out..it's no invention idiot.

  • Insults must be the best argument you've got.

  • @Johngeor turks are more brave then that, your banner of your country is painted with colour. but my ancesters painted our flag with their own blood

  • The Knights of Malta were the real barbarians!

  • Learn to debate in a civilized manner then I'll respond to you too... If you represent EU, no thanks to EU...

  • i dont think turkey will join eu sorry ...too much cultural difference but hey if they say we're brothers i dont we can get along haha peace.

  • I personally don't really care if Turkey joins EU or not... Turkey is strong with or without EU... It's not a little island of Malta:)... If Turkey joins the EU it will have more MPs in Euro Parliament than any other EU member... That means Turkey will play a major role in decision making... That means Turkey rules Europe once again since Ottoman times... IF Turkey turns to Islamic world... It's already historical leader of the Islamic world... In any case Turkey is the leader and the winner...

  • If it stays neutral its growing a lot faster than EU both economically and population basis... So Turkey's future is just as bright as its glorious past my friend... I cannot say the same thing for EU though... It,s not only me but also experts and statistics... Don't get me wrong... I wish the best for EU...

  • Cultural differences... Of course we have cultural differences but say Greece, Southern Italy, any South Eastern European country have much much more in common with Turkey than say Sweden or Norway or UK. In the end we're not that different... We smile when we're happy... We cry when we lose a loved one... We blush we we're embarrassed:)

  • @futuramark im happy they didnt let us, because now since we are turning our back against europe and having business with the middle east our turkish economy is going up with 12% per year

  • That's not an apt comment on this particular thread, considering that it deals practically with a defeat faced by the said force.

  • @oz83

I think we blessed dragut really well in 1565. Would you like the same..... :)

  • ;p malta never lost a war.... get it? the great siege... even in world war 2... we were heavily bombarded yet never fell to the nazi.... when we wanted the french to leave... we also did that. when we wanted independence, republic and freedom... we also got that with no blood shed... apart from the revolt in 1919 (in which 4 maltese were murdered by the english)

  • yea dude, ur right XD we were only ruled by anyone only wen we allowed dem to come in and rule us and each time dey pissed us off out dey went XD wow im feeling quite patriotic all of a sudden :P

  • maltamonument malta was taken by napoleon in 1798 so it has been taken atleast once.

  • hmmm it was taken by more people but see... ;p we never lost a war.... no blood was shed when napoleon took malta. and when we got sick of the french, we asked the british for help and they liberated us :p... the only 2 wars which malta had (1565 and WW2,) malta managed to survive them without retreating to the enemy

  • Knights of Malta Have really defended The Catholic face against barberian otthoman attacks.

  • WTF...WHERE THE REST OF THE VIDEO :S

  • The Knights of Malta started as a Catholic military-religious order and is still very much alive today. They're extensively involved in both charitable and humanitarian work.

  • The Ottoman siege of Constantinople wase not a great batte, 200 thousands vs 7 thousands, verry fair?

  • I wonder what kind of history knowledge you have, you really believe that Eastern Roman Empire last castle and their main city covered with 7.000 men?Yeah wasnt great battle but shake the history right?

  • @DeliBasAli you know that the turks sended in 100 Janissarie elite soldiers into that castle and they killed arround 1 thousand soldiers and they also kept the castle gate down... then the rest of the army came i mean you wouldnt win even if we were 1 thousand

  • Life is very unfair....

  • potugalreis yea that is impressive but u gotta be honest the true numbers of troops in the great siege of malta were aprox 48, 000 total Ottoman troops and around 8,100 defenders plus the reinforcements that came towards the end of the siege the Piccollo Soccorso of aprox 400 men that snuk into the forts and jioned the defenders and the

  • Grande Soccorso of aprox 8000 men that stood and faced the Ottoman troops next to Mdina on the Ridge or San Pawl Tat-Targa and fought them on open ground and pushed them back into the Sea and thats what ended the siege cause after the Ottomans moved away from the

  • Grand Harbour and Marsamxett Harbour and abandoned the remains of fort St.Elmo they turned to Mdina to take it so the troops could stay the winter there and the fleet would have returned to north africa to resupply and avoid the dangerous September Mediterranean storms and then return next

  • Spring to resupply the troops with men, rations and ammo and continue the siege the next year but the Grande Soccorso didnt allow that and fought the remainder of the Ottoman Land Troops back into the fleet till they swam to the fleet and retreated fully. so idk but im thinking dat with total number of troops through most of the siege being round 8,100 with 48,000 attackers they are both quite impressive odds

  • but dude portugalreis at the siege of constantinople were der were 200,000 vs 7000 constantinople fell, whilst at the great siege of malta, malta didnt fall thats the very impressive difference and remember that the 2 forts of st michael and st elmo werent big and were built quickly only st angelo was a very well established and strong fort and it was the only one so dats the impressive thing

  • Roman Empire was the greatest empire of the West. No matter how weak or strong it was in 1453, it was destroyed by mighty Ottoman Empire... This is a fact... Just accept it...

  • if were talking about facts its a fact that the ottomans only fought less than half of what was once the roman empire, the western roman empire ceased to exist in ad.476 you didnt destroy the greatest empire of the West at all you destroyed what was left of the eastern roman empire ie the byzantines big difference.. if your going to talk about facts at least get them right mate

  • What I tried to say was no matter how strong or weak it was in 1453, it was still Roman Empire...There is no such thing as Byzantine Empire... They never called themselves Byzantines.... It's a term that was started to be used by a few European historians after 18th century to distinguish early pagan Roman Empire from late Christian Greek Roman Empire... It was Eastern Roman Empire thus Roman Empire... And it was destroyed by Ottoman Empire...

  • the term 'Byzantine Empire' was introduced in 1557 by German historian Hieronymus Wolf byzantines were Christian Greeks with Roman citizenship its only the muslim world who refered to them as romans its western and northern contemporaries referred to them as Empire of the Greeks Imperium Graecorum the Fourth Crusade in 1204 marked the end of the old Eastern Roman Empire the destruction of Constantinople and total discontinuity of its leadership so thus after 1204 it wasnt a roman anything

  • See that's what I'm saying... 1557... 100 years after the Empire was destroyed... It doesn't matter what Muslims or Europeans called them... They kept calling themselves Romans... Or did they stop calling themselves Romans and start to call themselves Byzantines after 1204?

  • well i would spend some time doing some research and writing an answer but my sister wants to continue watching Aski Memmu on your page so ill have to get back to you oz

  • @captn1pugwash we took the balkans from the hands of europe, we took the mighty middle east were warriors were born, we took entire north africa in hand of the mighty mamlukes and we defended our empire for 700 years what else can i tell you?

  • @sa4ir the ottoman empire lasted 600 years not 700 you lost most of Europe with the treaty of Karlowitz (January 26, 1699) and later Egypt and Algeria became independent so technically you did not defend it successfully for 600 years by 1800 the ottoman empire was known as the "sick man" as empires go it was a good one and left a rich legacy of art and architecture but religious objection to modernization helped bring it down ..i don't understand the point you are making to me or why?

  • dude oz83 the greeks under alexander the great the mongols under genghis khan the british empire at its peak and the romans were all bigger and greater military forces than the ottomans just accept the fact dude dat ur hearoes were not the best around

  • Dude all of the empires you mentioned was somewhat great... Alexander&Mongol Empire lasted too short... BE was not true empire... It was just a colonial power...True empires conquer other empires, states, kingdoms and unify them under one flag... Colonial powers colonize vast empty lands and take all the wealth to their homeland... Roman Empire was no doubt great... It was a true Empire along with Ottoman Empire...

  • @imalivingMalteser 1. alexander the great was gay 2. lol the mongols are the turks that migrated to the ottomans the name (cenghis Khan) is turkish. i dont need o tell you more i mean the turks have ruled 16 large war states in the history of man, i probably think the turks are the greatest warriors of all times

  • nah my friend the greatest empire was of course the British empire

  • dude i mentioned da brithish empire >.>

  • @G00n3r4Life no it wasnt, it was just colonies of week regions

  • @portugalreis Yes it was because Constantinople had very good defences and a very large wall protecting it. If the Wall was not destroyed the Byzantines were very safe and had an advantage against their enemies who they could attack from above.

  • @Nickname997 No it wasnt a great battle. All you did was blow the walls down with your cannon.

  • @portugalreis

Well, fair or not..it is ours ..I don't think Fatih said to the byzantinium that they had to fight with a small army

  • @portugalreis sry mate, there u'r wrong, cos u simply can't say the siege of Constantinople 1453 with just 7,000 Byzantines against 200,000 Ottoman turks wasn't a great battle, especially when they fought to the very last man, the Emperor Constantine XI himself. Constantinople is too big to cover & defend with just 7,000 defenders against 200,000 turks with all those monster bombards, basilisks & cannons & still wasn't so easy for the Turks.

  • @portugalreis who said that turks are proud of that battle? btw turks won 87% of all battles against every1 fucking noobs you dont know how to fight assholes

  • @EnlightenedShqiptar you make me proud, because people like you say "the turks couldnt take it away from us" that means that everyone know how mighty the turks are because when you manage to defend something from the turks you are wery proud, thanks i really preciate that

  • @sa4ir And you know how to fight, unless your in the military then don't leech off your ancestors strength, none of us can compare in strenght or speed to them. Besides the strength you had came mostly from levying conquered peoples, into your armies to fight for you, like romanians. the big difference between turks and us europeans is, we were never staked through the ass by a very brave madman by the name of vlad....ouch that bring back memories? must have been humilating for great turks lmao

  • @theworldisfucked1 i have no idea of what you are talking about, i just know that the turks must have pissed you off during to your heavy losses against them in war

  • @portugalreis so what??

we are not talking about football match here like 11 against 11... there is no rule in war..

  • @portugalreis actually 130 thousand verseus 9 thousand and it was not enough space for the ottomans + you hide your ass inside a castle come outside and face us lets see hwo would be screwed then?

  • Proud2beMaltese :-)

  • racist comments....all stupids..historical poors..

  • where is the rest of this video?

  • A quote from wikipedia: The Christians also embarked arguably more advanced arquebusiers and musketeers, while the Ottomans trusted in their highly skilled but in the end inferior composite bowmen.[8]

    Undeveloped turks!

  • There are some fundamental discrepancies! Turks never were the greatest military force, but probably the most numerous! Even lot smaller armies managed to inflict the most humiliating defeats on them! Instead they were the most CRUEL, INHUMANE, GREEDY BUCH OF WAR CRIMINALS ! Turks unlike europeans never contributed to arts, poetry, sports or any other civilized matter!

  • Yeah yeah but historians who live at this time saying different right?Even maybe someone remind you CRUSADERS and what happened to them when they faced with Turks, just try to read a little before writing comment here.

  • sooo DeliBasAli wat exactly are u trying to say?

  • @legat00 Battle of lepanto - 70 thousand christians verseus 12 thousand ottomans result : Heroic ottoman victory

  • it is a stupid think that the maltese were not mantioned, since we had lot of expierence in fighting the muslems in fact in september 1429 we maltese beat the tunesin arabs in the battle near imdina.I call this battle ,the battle of the cheeselet.

  • Thanks so much for this information. I somehow had the impression that there was no list of all the Maltese names during the Siege recorded for prosperity.

Where is a good place to find the complete list?

  • I got the names from volume II of 'A study in depth of 143 maps representing the great siege of malta of 1565' by albert ganado and maurice agius vadala. these books are a treasure trove for those who like me are obsessed with the great siege.
