The school district I teach in showed this video during our annual before-school district meeting. It is absolutely amazing, empowering, inspiring for every person who teaches or works with children. It reminds us of why we do what we do, with little financial reward - but the ways we can help EACH child we come in contact with, is priceless. We can change the world, one child at a time. This little boy has the power to change the world on his own. Please share this video with your teachers

What an amazing and confindent child with great speaking skills. You should be proud of yourself. However, in reading some of the comments left, I was very disappointed in some of them. I am a white woman and I don't care if he is white or black.  It does not matter. This boy will go further in life than you will with your negative comments. So son...way to go! I am a teacher and this brought tears to my eyes. I'm willing to believe in anyone, given the proof that they believe in themselves, and I most certainly believe in this young man. He knows what he's talking about, he knows how to work a crowd, and most of all, he knows what he wants and needs out of his education!

I am posting this video on my facebook :) One of the things we forget as teachers is to believe in and support our fellow teachers even if we don't always agree with each other. I have a friend who is a teacher, and she posted a link to this video on YouTube. I thought it was a joke at first, but quickly realized this kid was articulate and wasn't using a teleprompter or anything! What a great speech this was. I am so very impressed with him, and with the support the conference attendees gave him.
