  • did it come with a pedal?

  • @ihateruss42 No and this version is not compatible with any footswitch, but the new micro stack is compatible, but I'm not sure if it's included.

  • @JTstratman13 Oh ok thanks i was just deciding between this amp and another one.

  • Oh thank god. I HATE when people turn mids ALL the way up. I just wanna shoot my self. Thanks for turning em down

  • dude the amp souds fricking insane i need this

  • shred your fucking face off

  • @corpralkirsch Sorry, I'm not good enough to shred well...

  • @JTstratman13 practice dude, i mean i think your at that level now where it will come to you pretty fast, just have confidence dude

  • @corpralkirsch I'm much better now than I was when I recorded this, since this is 2 years old. I can play sorta fast using blues scales and some major and minor scales, but I can't do anything really technical yet.

  • @JTstratman13 yeah same, im still trying to sweep pick but its so hard just today i learned pinch harmonics, but what i like to do is quick hammer on and pull offs on the pentatonic scale and some bends and it sounds pretty cool, ive been playin since i was 14 a little over 4 years now

  • would this be loud enough to use in band practice with a drums bass mics n another guitar

  • @MrMinxy13 I would say it would be alright if you crank it for practice, but it probably won't be loud enough for gigging.

  • Does this have a lot of gain for metal or would I have to boost it?

  • @SilentDestruction900 It has a lot of gain, especially if your guitar has humbuckers. It might sound better with some pedals but you can get by with its overdrive channel.

  • I hate the way that some people say that the mg range is shit, they are truly awesome bits of kit!

  • would this be good to play gigs?

  • @roy32096 Maybe if you're lucky and you crank it. If you're gonna gig in a full band situation, this probably won't be loud enough unless you mic it.

  • @roy32096 maybe i have a duo band and ive been thinking of getting the zakk wylde one, just because the jcm and the mg combo are both a pain to lug around.

  • I'm selling one of these if you live in the West Midlands area!

£145! But I'm open to offers, Inbox me if interested!

  • Should i go for this or a Line 6 Flextone II Plus?

  • @CiviC092 I would say this or an MG combo because I personally don't like Line 6.

  • would you say this or a 60 wattish 2x12 combo amp be louder?

  • @guitarbrain666 60 watt combo would be alot louder.

  • @guitarbrain666 no it really would be the same. I had an orange 60 watt, an ampeg 60 watt and a raven 60 watt and they were about the same on full. I also have this moicro stack

  • I want that one, but than half stack, is that possible?

  • im thinking on buying it. Do you think its worth the money?

  • @austismitty133 It sounds decent, but there are other amps that are louder and cheaper. If you can find a used one and it suits your needs, go for it.

  • I have one of these amps too and the amp head sucks in tone and feedback! I am going to get a VOX "Night Train" head and put it on top and drive my cabinet for some real tube tone!

  • Is it loud enough for a gig?

  • @StratBanez101 Only if you play solo guitar gigs. For a full band, you'd have to mic it.

  • @JTstratman13 how would u mic it?

  • @StratBanez101 Place a mic in front of the cab, or run the line out into a PA or something. I don't think the pedal would make much of a difference in volume.

  • @JTstratman13 allright one more question if i pluged it into two amps would it make louder cause im planing to plug one into a clean and one into a dist/overdrive?

  • mabye 3 amps ALL MARSHALL one in clean, this one in Heavy dist.,and one in slitely dist./clean?

  • @StratBanez101 That would definitely give you more projection and a little more volume, but you'd have to experiment with it in a band setting.

  • @JTstratman13 ok thanks

  • @JTstratman13 if i pluged in like a digitech in it would it be louder?

  • would you choose this or a Peavey Vypyr 75 watt combo

  • @mwiguitar62 I've never played any Peavey Vypyr's, but I'd probably choose this, or the combo version of this because it's cheaper. But you'd have much more volume with the 75 watt combo.

  • @JTstratman13 i've talked to someone,

they said go with the Vypyr,

i play like hardcore heavy metal,

    drop Bb stuff.

    so the Peavey sounded good,

and the Peavey 75 watt and this cost the exact same,

i like the peavey because it has all the effects,

this although is a Marshall, but its a MG. i dont like them very much, i wouldn't mind the stack because i just like it for some reason.

  • @mwiguitar62 Yeah it's all preference. If it sounds good for you go for it.

  • @JTstratman13 okay,

    thank you.

  • @mwiguitar62 im usin a vypyr man and i used to be a big fan of marshalls man those vypyrs are badass man they really punch gave me way more gain than a marshall with an overdrive pedal lol man i dont even need to use an effect it sounds amazin

  • @allfu93 vypyr,

    how many watts?

and thanks for telling me :D

  • @mwiguitar62 it depends i have a 60 and its a beauty theres 15, 30, 60, 75, and 100 and let me tell u u wont regret it i was gonna buy a jsd 100 i think it was kalled and it sounded great but when i tries the vypyr it was amazin the vypyr has so many effects like overdrive and like 12 different distortions from classic rock to like out of this world rock and heavy metal like its beautiful i might post up a vid of it in action wen i can alrite???

  • @allfu93 i was thinking about the 75 watt,

it cost the same as thi marshall

  • @mwiguitar62 haha the 75 has a great feature that letsu choose the amount of power u want to use womthing like that so u dont bust ur walls or something hey man keep up the spirit of playin gutiar man and by the way read the manual it will help u so u can save ur settings and ur tone and so u dont get frustrated the first day u buy it i got frustrated the first day but after i figured it out with the manual and im lovin it

  • @allfu93 EE.

i was thinking about gettin' a Crate 120W half stack.

It seems the same as the 75 watt,

and i'm actually going to start a band by next year.

  • @mwiguitar62 well its up to u man u know we all have our favs ima start one too my first rehearsal might be next week idk

  • @allfu93 thanks.

  • @JTstratman13 nope let correct u the vypyr is cheaper

  • @allfu93 Yeah I know I meant the Marshall combo is cheaper than the micro stack.

  • can you play drums along to it, like would it be loud enough?

  • @paintballmig Maybe for practicing, but not for gigging. I once used this to practice with my band, and it was barely loud enough.

  • would this be louder than a marshall mg15fx?

  • @calhop I would say it would be a little louder and have better projection than the MG15FX since this has two speakers instead of one.

  • how loud does it get compared to my line 6 30 watt ???

  • Solid state is the future..No more tubes!!! well Im still keeping my tube amps..sikes!!

  • how much do you reckon it would cost?

  • @SherwinDawson1 It was $300 when I bought it over a year ago, but since there is a new micro stack that is $350, this one might cost less than $300.

  • theyre 12 inch speakers in the cabs correct?

  • @mig8830 10 inch speakers.

  • did u use anykind of pedals on this? it sounds like u did

  • @pittbullbill I had pedals hooked up but they weren't on.

  • plzz tell me if it is a tube amp ??

  • @tarek38 No it's solid state.

  • @JTstratman13 thanks

  • @JTstratman13 Damn, that sucks.

  • can you play loud with this amp. and how loud??

  • @qlino1313 The volume was on 1 for this video and it can go decently loud, maybe loud enough for small gigs.

  • @JTstratman13 ok thanx i might buy one of theses if they can be loud enough for small gigs :D THANX!!

  • @qlino1313 If you want to spend about half the cost of this, there is a combo version of this amp. If you want more features, there is a newer version of the micro stack that is $50 extra. Also keep in mind that humbucking pickups are generally louder than single coils. So, if your guitar has humbuckers, chances are you will have twice more volume than you would have with single coils.

  • @JTstratman13 yeaa im gonna go for the combo version!

  • How much does it cost?

  • @vanhalenfan79 It was $300 over a year ago, and now there is a newer version of the micro stack that is $350, so I'd say that this one used would be around $200-$300.

  • @JTstratman13 no foot switch eh ?

  • @raquel1234ful No but the newer version of the micro stack is compatible with a footswitch. This one isn't.

  • @JTstratman13 Can it be loud enough for live performances? i want something small for home and loud enough for live performances....wonder if this will work? anyways, thanks dfor the demo :)

  • @NoName01071992 It is pretty loud for a 15 watt. The volume was on 1 for this video. I've played guitar duo gigs with the micro stack's volume on about 3. I've had band practices with the volume on 5. It may not be loud enough for full band gigs, but it'll do for practice and small performances. If your guitar has humbuckers the amp will be almost twice as loud, as opposed to single coils.

There is also a combo version of this amp, which is almost half the price of this.

  • @JTstratman13 hmm....well if id buy it, i think itll be a better investment to buy a an amp with some more watts to it, the annoying part is that it jumps to 100watt pretty fast, and i dont wanna fill stadiums :P and i jsut liked the idea to have a small stack^^ anyways thanks for the info :)

  • How loud is this?....loud enough for a gig?

  • @cesarggonzalez It is pretty loud for a 15 watt.

  • 2 QUESTIONS

    1. What do you give it one scale of 1 to 10?

    2. Would you say it's good for pop-punk?

  • I'd give this amp an 8 out of 10, mainly because of its price and it is solid-state, but it's still a good amp. With the right EQ settings, it could probably do pop-punk well.

  • The end lick sounds like welcome home sanitarium by metallica :P

  • @HarvesterOfDeath07

    It is... :)

  • @JTstratman13

    awesome guessing skills :D

  • @HarvesterOfDeath07

Yep I'm surprised you could distinguish it through my sloppy playing and bad EQ settings. I have improved alot! ;)

  • @JTstratman13

    I know my metallica :D

  • @JTstratman13 thanks man your the best

  • i dont know if i asked this before youtube wont let me see the comments on any videos so ill ask how tall is this thing?

  • @bjswagger99 It's about 3 feet tall. It's like 37 inches tall.

  • how much is that in meters??

  • It's about 0.939 8 meters tall. Almost a whole meter.

  • i put old pillows in my speaker cabs....really tightened up the sound.....bass response improved tremendously.............gets rid of the boomyness

  • when was that amp made?

  • I'm not sure, but I think it was introduced in 2008 maybe?

I bought this one in early '09.

  • Hey Dude how loud does this amp get??

  • This amp gets pretty loud for a 15 watt. The volume here was on 2. Of course if you have humbuckers it'll be louder. It's about half as loud with single coils.

  • thx alot I actually have the mg15cdr and I wanted a louder amp and I think a stack is also really cool but I can get the fender for 200 bucks which is dirt cheap for 100 watts but yeah I'll think about both

  • If I were you and wanted the micro stack, I'd try to find it used or for a low price, because you may be disappointed if you spend $300 on basically the same amp as the MG15CDR, just in the form of a stack. It is louder because of the two speakers, and is cool, but you may think you're wasting money. However, I'd still recommend it. And the new micro stack will do alot more than the MG15CDR.

  • Comment removed

  • buy the mg100hdfx with mg412, about 500 bucks and pretty big

  • @123marijn321 thx i thinking of geting that one

  • stratman I have the choice between a fender frontman rt2( i think that's the name) and this since I allready have a Marshall I'm really going for the mg but the fender has a 100 watts...but as zakk wylde once sayed "there can only be one amp and that's a Marshall god bless Marshall" pls help

  • I've played a Fender Frontman 15 and I didn't think it sounded very good. I've never played the larger Frontmans. However, I have a Fender Ultimate Chorus and it's a great solid-state Fender. I assume it sounds similar to a Frontman 212. This micro stack is a lot of money for a 15 watt practice amp but I really like it's tone. I personally like the micro stack more than the Ultimate Chorus. Now, you can get a Marshall MG15FX, which is a combo version of the new micro stack and that's $150.

  • But the Fender has separate EQ's for each channel and is probably much louder. I say if you need volume and versatility, go for the Fender. If you want slightly better tone and a cool practice amp, go for the Marshall. But I would also suggest saving up for a tube amp. There are many used English Marshall tube heads that go for not much more than $500 or $600. And there are also some good deals out there on tube Fenders too.

  • Hope this helps!

  • how many wats do the cabs have? I wanna buy one

  • Each cab is 15 watts. The head's input is 45 watts and its output is 15 watts. It's still pretty loud though. And the new MG micro stack has 4 different channels and is compatible with a footswitch, unlike this one.

  • is there drive/distortion on it??

  • Yes there is an overdrive channel on it. It has plenty of gain. I now never go past 5.

(If you're wondering how I responded so fast, I kept clicking on the homepage and happened to get a comment!) ;)

  • Is this a tube amp?

  • @ultimategamer07z

Unfortunately, it's solid state. However, it still sounds good for a solid state practice amp.

  • @ultimategamer07z Epiphone have a cool tube amp 5 watts.

Its real loud since Tube is louder, aslong as you got a distortion pedal it sounds brutal!

  • ive already got the marshall 15 watt single amp without the stack, and i was looking at this and thinking about gettin it, is it any better than just the 15watt amp by itself, does the stack help it at all?

  • It's not much better. The stack is really cool and the 2 speaker cabs make a slight difference in volume. But I wouldn't recommend it to you if you already have the MG15, unless you just want it for the novelty.

  • how much was this amp? i'm saving up for it but the cheapest i can find one is $200

  • I paid $300 for it.

  • Can the cabinets and head come apart?

  • Yes it's all separate and you can even use the head and one micro cab, or use the head with another cab.

  • i have a question so if i buy this amp can i change the head to any other head because i cant have a big cab because i have no space

  • I don't know if you could use a tube amp head with the micro stack cabinets. Maybe a small wattage tube head, and a solid state head should work with these cabs.

  • Yeah that's some good tone on your Fade To Black video!

  • can you do a small gig witht his amp? i'm talking like 75-90 people

  • Definitely. I've played a few duo gigs for 20-30 playing classic rock with the volume on 3-4 set clean and crunchy, I've had band practices playing hard rock/metal with volume on 5, that's with a drummer, and I once played in a guitar ensemble using this in a theater that seats about 1,000 people with the volume on 5-6. The point is this amp will probably be loud enough for you: if your guitar has humbuckers. Using a guitar with single coils will reduce the volume by almost a half.

  • But also keep in mind that this amp is solid state. It sounds good for a solid state practice amp. But you might want to look into a tube amp...

  • no way, i don't kno what this guys talking about, with 15 watts there's no way you can play that loud. With my old 40W peavy envoy 110 you could barely hear me over a drummer and with my marshall mg4 half stack i still don't think you could play all that loud and it's 100W

  • Well I'm sure you couldn't play a gig or something with a drummer using this amp. It was loud enough for band practice in a living room, maybe not on a stage or something. TStouffer, do use use humbuckers or single coils? This is a contributing factor to volume.

  • humbuckers

  • I'm no expert, but I guess you couldn't do full band gigs with this amp...

  • yea because i have a marshall mg4 halfstack(100W) and i never turn the amp up above 8 but it's barly loud enough

  • I will soon buy a Marshall JCM 900 half stack and that's gonna be very loud. It'll be my first tube amp. Tube amps are probably much louder than solid-state amps.

  • yea and they have better tone

  • Right. Part of me regrets buying the micro stack in terms of tone, cause it was a lot of cash for a 15 watt amp, but then again, it's so cool, kind of like a novelty!

  • @JTstratman13

man - not 'probbaly" - WAAAAAY louder - be careful to try b4 u buy or u will have sumpn in ur bedroom so loud yo will go deaf playing it on anything over 2. Big tube amps are for gigs not bedroom bandits

  • I tried it out before I bought it and it's awesome. And yes it's very loud. I made a video of of and put it here on YouTube and the volume was only on 1. But hey it sounds good, and to me that's all that matters.

  • it really depends on the amp. I play with my youth group and a drummer and I have a 20W amp and can crank it loader than the drums. The size of your speaker effects it as well.

  • hey

  • ima get this amp,my friend is selling it for 150

  • That's a great deal! You won't be disappointed cause this is an awesome practice amp and it sounds great for a budget solid-state amp.

  • They only cost 60 at guitar center

  • The tiny ones are $60. I think you're talking about the MS-4. This one was $300 at Guitar Center.

  • Marshall also came out with a Zakk Wylde micro stack that looks and sounds totally bad ass!

  • Yeah but what sucks is it's been dicontinued

  • how much was this

  • where can you get this amp and is it good for metal

  • if you have the right peddle but alone its not that great :\

  • I have a DS-1 and the Micro Stack has better distortion than that. But a nice distortion pedal will blow the overdrive channel away.

  • the overdrive can get you up to maybe...GNR... MAYBE if you have a bad ear haha. Just get a Metal Zone pedal and u can get some massively sexy tones out of this mofo... i actually recommend it... cheap too

  • oh well how much does it run for with the pedle

  • Uh I'm not sure what you mean but I got my Boss DS-1 for $30. It's a decent cheap distortion pedal.

  • what i ment was is the amp itself good for metal can you get good tones like that from it and how much is the amp itself withought pedals

  • Yes you can get a pretty good metal tone for a solid state and the micro stack is about $300. I never use my DS-1 anymore.

  • I've jsut bought one of these off ebay for the tidy sum of £150 about $250, i'm getting it on sunday it's a great deal there are a few more still around on ebay i think :)

  • i was so close to buying this... i'm glad i didn't though. instead i ordered the bugera v22, for 50 bucks more. all tube, 2 channels 4 band eq, etc.

  • good amp

i got one of these for sale if anyone is interested?

    pm me

  • can anyone give me a link of where i could buy the cable that lets me plug in my mp3 and cd and stuff?

  • what site can you get this for $300

  • so in your opinion do you think you're getting your monys worth?

  • Oops... accidentally removed my comment...

It's $300 for a 15 watt amp. I think it's worth it, but that's just me. If you like the way this amp sounds but don't want to spend $300, I suggest you get the Marshall MG15CD, which is the combo version of this amp, and is about half the price.

  • OR TRY EBAY ITS CHEAPER

  • so ive got this ibanez 30 watt amp would this be louder than that cause its a micro stack or what?

  • god love ibanez guitars but their amps sound like watered down goat piss to me...no offense lol

  • na none taken lol its my first amp and i figured since the guitars are good maybe the amps are too. so im wanting to get either a line 6 or a marshall.

  • better than no amp. personally i like line 6, and marshall...play them and trust your ears and dont listen to all the hype on youtube. they both sound good, just different. then again, about the best sounding 15 watt amp i ever had was a CRATE. IMO these amps are way underrated. i never played on a crate that didnt sound good for what it was. and i never had one break down on me in 16 yrs either.

  • is this amp good for using pedal board systems such as my rp350? my line 6 spyder 3 15 doesnt let pedals work right... on clean it makes the pedal sound acousticy and on metal/overdrive the amp with the pedal sounds like shit... this amp isnt like that right? ive had many problems with my spyder...

  • The only distortion pedal I have is a Boss DS-1 and I don't use it with this amp, but it sounds fine with it. I use other effects such as chorus, delay, and wah with this amp and they sound great. The other effects on your rp350 will sound good, and I think the distortion will sound good also.

  • your using a pedal right?

  • No I didn't use any pedals in this video.

  • Thanks man, KEEP ON ROCKIN!!!!!

  • Can you plug your ipod into it?
