try doing what DavidSinRocks does on his covers where he records the cover on his computer via USB plugin and record the video at the same time so you get better audio. Just a tip that may or may not help haha
nice work man! those sting are a bit on the treble side, but i think it sounds pretty cool. those rotosounds are one heck of a bass string though:) i got some on my bass
This bass has some really nice '62 Fender Reissue pickups and a very very slim neck. Picked it up brand new at Guitar Center for $800 and now the price is almost doubled and now it's at $1300. The sound that comes out of this thing is simply amazing.
what settings did you set your tone to? Please tell me, bc I actually ordered this. Cant wait to get it, ive had a pbass replica for over a year, I learned on that.
Love the cover, Just wondering, Can the Geddy J bass get a slightly punchier tone than usual? Because I've been wanting to upgrade from my P-bass standard an was looking at getting a J-bass for the tone.
hmm nice cover :P, but the part between 3:06 and 3:19 were missing the quick D,F,D,E,C runs. You play this song the same as i do in every aspect except the part between 3:06 and 3:19, i do the quick runs there. but we all here things differently when we play music, thats a part of what makes every musician unique :P
No, it's the camera, it picks up some crappy sound. When you are actually in the room it's more growl than treble, and it sounds exactly like Geddy Lee's.
In Guitar Center, I tested out a P-Bass and it was nothing compared to this Geddy Lee Jazz Bass.
great job man! how do you get that sound? i've got the same bass but i can't seem to get that "Geddy Lee Tone." what type of amp do you use and what are your eq settings?
I have a Gallien Krueger Backline 250 amp. Run with a 1x15 GK goldline cab.
My eq settings have the mid tones up all the way and the treble usually about halfway or close to all the way up, I also have a Contour Voicing that I put up all the way as well. Also, don't put alot of bass into it.
Great playing! You nailed it dead on...

I don't think the Geddy Lee Jazz is worth it....
As far as I know, the only difference is the bridge. It would cost less to buy a jazz and change the bridge than to get this.
I like Rush, but I don't really like that bass.

I don't know about that...

make sure to get some rotosound 66 long scale strings, I cant tell you how much better it is for that guitar.
rendog92 3 years ago
Yeah, this is when I first got the bass, so it had the stock Fender strings.
The only strings I will ever play are Rotosound RS66LD's.
DWreck025 3 years ago
yea man, what settings do you use?
I ordered mine today for $680, I have some rotosounds coming also

RVS94 4 years ago
Right now, I have the Fender Super 7350M, #073-7350-006, (Gauge .45-.105)(These come stock)
I will be switching to Rotosound RS66LD's (Also gauge .45-.105) after these wear out.
I have tried those exact strings you have, they are really good.
