I meant that on a subconscious level people know that something is horribly wrong, but they don't consciously realize this or for that know what it is. There are also those who know a little bit, maybe about 9/11, maybe about the banks, but either don't feel the urgency to spread the word or feel peer pressure not to speak out for fear of harassment.

Good thing is, there are more awake people now than at any other time in all human history.
