I love the movie, but I wish the main characters were Punjabi at least. For instance the guy Salim and the woman are not remotely convincing as Punjabis or Pakistanis for that matter. The language is strained.

Plus, I have lived most of my life in Pak. Punjab and I ve never seen a lot of these customs in Pak. Punjab. I wish the movie was a little more 'accurate' in its everyday life depiction

@arepha Thanks for uploading this movie! This the second Pakistani movie I've watched till date (after Khuda Kay Liye) and also the second Punjabi movie (after the Indian movie 'Des Hoya Pardes'). It really makes me realize how I'd been oblivious to the artistic wealth in cinema all across the subcontinent in my obsession with mainstream Hindi and English movies.

I am not indian..however if you want to know Jaswant singh is a politician and a writer from india.. Rajhistan I guess the book he wrote Jinna-India-Partition-Independ­ence in which he argued that it was Jawaharlal Nehru who was actually responsible for partition. And initially Quaid-e-Azam did not want india partition however later on he realised that we cannot live together and major cause for that realization was Jawaharlal Nehru..

This ANIMAL Zia killed our dreams. I remember growing up in small town in Pakistan. We went to mosques only for Friday prey or eid. People made fun of Mullah. We all lived peacefully with Christens, Ahmediys and Shias then an animal took over and changed everything.

It was British who gave the "Country" concept to these conglomerate of pricely states in Indian region. There was no India no pakistan...this entire Indiap-Pak problem would not have existed at all if leaders of then congress simply made severely ailing, diabetic and about to die Jinnah PM for few months...!! It is so painful and sad to see millions killed in this incessant insane and brutal juggernaut of "country-ism" and horrendous things stemming from that! I wish it ends. Peace to All:)

@bazookajoe77 The same thing seems to be happening in India. I'm not Punjabi, but I've lived in Northern India all my life. Although in Indian Punjab the Punjabi language is protected by government policy and is a mandatory subject in the school curriculum, there are several ethnic Punjabis in Delhi and my home state Haryana (formerly a part of Punjab) who can't speak a word of their ancestral language! Urdu and Hindi are important, but regional languages must be conserved, too.

There is a difference between the 1947 concept of Pakistan , represented by Qaid-e-Azam , Iqbal , Faiz , etc. It was an economic concept , that Muslims of South Asia should be free from upper-caste Hindu domination.

The 1979 concept was different. It was based on the concept of global Islam , etc.

Iqbal was right.

" Mazhab-e-Mullah , fee-sabeelillah fasaad ".

Though it feels in the begining that film is trying to proof the 47's concept of Pakistan and 1979's Zia islamic idology the same But both were far different. Pakistan was not created by the islamic MUllahs, it was created by the Muslims ving moderate thinking and concepts.
