Actually Cambodian citizens in this Capital Phnom Penh are not so many. But It was happened because it was the last night of annual "Water Festival" that multimillion people came around the country to give cheering to representative boats of each province. Thus they (mostly rural Cambodian teenager and some Vietnamese) went across the bridge for fun the new open island. Celebration become mourning.

Last year I were almost a victim but I hate the crowding atmosphere then I left there once that night once I found too many people back and forth from and to the island.

I think beacuse they have no experience with suspension bridge before. Once too heavy load and it shook, they fell panic.
