  • How does it work on complex comments with links and images etc.? Will links automatically expand and show images and captions etc.?

  • @avoca99 yep :) we are actually about to release an updated concept video and in two weeks we will have our site ready so that you can sign up for beta access.

  • I like it, I think it will work.

Unfortunate that you use the term, "Streams" however, since it already is in use in the same space meaning something very different, ie, streaming video. I think "Strings" is available, string theory is not this space. "Strings and bubbles", the bubbles on a string. To me it works as well as Streams without complicating the mind share that streams and streaming have.

  • @p0psHarlow Thanks for the feedback! We are pretty committed to the terminology, and I think we will be fine (google plus uses "stream" to talk about their comment threads).

Always good to think about though. The new video will be out this week, which displays the idea where we have it now. If you like us on FB you can follow releases. Search for Streable. Cheers!

  • Great video, Luke!

  • @BlueseedProject Thanks! This was created by my partner - Sam Selikoff. He does excellent work!

  • what about when you get say 1,000 stand alone comments. Will they all have their own bubble?

  • @stevensouto Yes, but our system will make it very easy to sift through all of the comments. And our system will point new users to the most popular conversations. All of the spam will be the very last thing a new user sees if they are sifting through a conversation.

  • I don't know how this situation fits in to your system plans but I want you to be aware of the strategy some users use to steer the conversation:

There are a few people that will respond to you and they don't want you responding to them. What they will purposely do is address their comment to you but instead of using the reply button they will post it as a stand alone comment hoping that you miss their comment.

  • @justintempler Good point. What I find now is that when you post a stand alone comment directed at someone in particular you run the risk of wasting your time because that person may never see your comment. In this system the same is true about the person who you direct it at (if it is stand alone). However, if it is not stand alone (you reply to their bubble) you have a good chance of actually continuing the conversation with them. Thanks for the feedback. Cheers!

  • I liek the idea! ^.^

  • Nice. What about searchability? Attachments, weblinks?

And, instead of thumbs, why not a ranking scale, 1 to 10, so the choice is not just up or down?

  • @jwquinlan Great questions/suggestions. We have a ton of bells and whistles for this system that are not introduced in this video. The purpose of this video is to attract enough investment to start development. If you have any suggestions I would be happy to let you know more about what we already have and I would love to learn more about what you have in mind. Cheers!

  • @lukebessey This conversation is only four comments and already it looks terribly disorganized.

  • @jwquinlan YouTube used to have a 1-5 star rating systems. I personally liked it and hated when they moved to Thumbs Up/Down, but I believe they did serious research before this move.
