If you are 6 ft. or taller, you can take a tour of Panmunjom. I took the opportunity. I stood at the same spot that group of six is standing, facing the central approach to the North. i went here on a class field trip because i live overseas in south korea. i saw the rock soldiers (south korean soldiers) they were trained in taikwando. also when we went outside to the area where the soldiers are staring at each other, we saw north koreans getting a tour on the other side. it was kinda weird cus they were taking pics of us.

i went here on a class field trip because i live overseas in south korea. i saw the rock soldiers (south korean soldiers) they were trained in taikwando. also when we went outside to the area where the soldiers are staring at each other, we saw north koreans getting a tour on the other side. it was kinda weird cus they were taking pics of us.

This is actual one of the most amazing things I have ever seen, I cant believe like 60 years after this war, this is the actual state of affairs between these 2 countries, a million land mines, 2 million troops, electrified fences like my God. The South Korean troops are so intimadating, like look at their fists cleanced. It's almost like at any moment the war would start again. But am sure we'll probably kick the North's ass again.

If only China didn't invade Korea, the country would've been unified and not only would there be no North Korea to torture its own people and attempt to threaten South Korea and parts of Asia, but also think about how much more of an economic powerhouse Korea would be now.
All these years, instead of NK falling further and further behind, the North could've joined the South and now it would be even more prosperous. =/

I would like to see the DMZ eventually kept as a nature sanctuary and preserve. And even enlarge the area even further on both sides WHEN KOREA UNITES. @ssgduke56 with all due respect to your service...the ultimate goal has to be the reunification of the two Koreas....so at some point both sides are gonna have to make alot of compromises.....somehow i don't see that happening with thousands of troops, tanks and land mines lining the border. It's easy to forget that there are no good guys or bad guys....just ppl.

Somalia is a far better place than it was when I was a child, and actually does have a government now, however weak it may be, thanks almost entirely to the United States. Atrocities in Kosovo were committed by our enemies. Port-au-Prince was devastated by a quake, and we are rebuilding it. The country would cease to exist without us.

Well, two million people were murdered in Iraq in the 80s and 90s in death camps, with chemical and biological weapons, and by extermination squads, the bodies have been uncovered and Saddam himself admitted to it (though stating he was immune to prosecution by being "President of Iraq").

I guess that's why they quit and signed the Paris Peace Accords of 1973, and waited until we came home to continue their murderous rampage (killing another two million people). We were obligated to intervene, however a liberal-dominant US Congress refused to appropriate funding for it, and laughed while those poor people were slaughtered.
