What you term baby is a non-viable fetus, likely with birth defects, usually wanted by the parents. It's tragic. For the parents.
It sounds like you would rather they put the non-viable fetus out of its misery first. What you say is disturbing is that the fetus suffers. Then you support regular abortion practice.
this put me in tears. I am pro life and view abortion as murder, but THIS...this is just horrible. how could a hospital under christ's name do such a vile thing?! Bless Jill for what did and bless her for her views. I may be only 15, but i know this definately accounts as murder and the people who do not care about these poor preborn infants are horrible. I hope that abortion becomes illegal in the future, though i know chances of it becoming illegal now is rare with Obama as our president.
Abortions never happen at Catholic hospitals. So why does that Christian hospital allow such travesties? There is a choice not to offer abortions under the 1st amendment.
@benburkhardt13 There is no right under the First Amendment. Hospitals can refrain from providing certain services because there is no law forcing them to provide those services. The Constitution is one of negative rights, not positive rights. I'd appreciate people read the document before referencing it. Respect for the Constitution, people.
An Illinois law since 1975 has stated that if an abortion is performed when the fetus is deemed to be viable, the doctor must:•Choose the method of abortion least likely to harm the fetus.•Have in attendance a second doctor who can immediately take over care of the child if it's born alive.•Use every available means to keep any born-alive child living and healthy. To do otherwise constitutes a Class 3 felony, which carries a sentence of two to five years in prison.
unlimitedcowboy, that's one of Obama's deceptions. The key is the phrase, "when the fetus is deemed to be viable." It is the abortionist who makes that judgement.
When a baby lives, without care, for nearly a full 8 hour shift, as in one of the cases that nurse Stanek recalled, that baby is at least plausibly viable. However, in ALL those cases the abortionist judged the baby unviable, and until the Born Alive Infant Protection Act passed, the abortionist's judgment was the last word.
And we wonder how the Nazis could be so cruel, when it's going on all over the West today, being called "pro-choice." Hitler was pro-choice. He chose to "abort" Jews and dissenters.
But, good point you brought up; eugenics is behind abortion in the US. I'll let you do your research on that one - it'll keep you out of trouble and from commenting without reading the poster you're replying to. =D
You never mentioned eugenics in the post to which I responded. Not once. Nor has anyone else mentioned it at this comment section prior to your response to my reply. The post hoc ergo propter haec fallacy may exist in your mind, but apparantly, in no one else's.
BenAliGtor, you are misinformed. NAZI Germany was the first country in the world to legalize abortion.
Granted, the NAZIs didn't legalize it for everyone. It remained illegal for most Germans. But in 1934 they legalized abortion for "racial health," and in 1938 they legalized abortion on demand for Jews.
Legalization of abortion for Jews and the "unfit" in NAZI Germany was the first step down the long road to widespread legalization of elective abortion in much of the world.
BTW, in case it isn't obvious, policies to promote "racial health" are eugenics.
When (as talitha00cumi mentioned) Hitler's gov't legalized abortion for undesirable people, that was eugenics in action. Abortions were legalized for undesirables because those people were deemed undesirable as contributors to the human bloodline. Eugenic theory was the reason for the policy.
(I think that perhaps you misunderstand what the "post hoc ergo propter hoc" fallacy is.)
I hate Bill OReilly.

Word is that Jill Stanek lied in this regard to the Chicago Trtibune. Is there more to this? What actually is the truth?

Why are there comments about Obama in a video from 2000?

22:10 hrs, CST, 4 November 2008: McCain concedes, Obama WINS!
Your campaign of fear and smear has failed, Ms. Stanek. Barack wins, and YOU LOSE!!

Obama is the only senator who voted against BAIPA.
Seriously, he is evil.

She was fired 10 years ago from Christ Hospital. I called the hospital, but I don't know why, and I don't know if she is working anywhere else.

"Hitler was pro-choice."
Guess again, dumb ass. Abortion was illegal for German women during the Third Reich.
You might want to actually READ some history before launching into your next 'reducto ad Nazi-am' argument.
