Some old news: Wisconsin had a huge Fiscal Problem before Walker was elected.
Some new news: After Walker was elected, 2011 saw Wisconsin gain 13,500 private-sector jobs, double the number from the previous year & the most since 2006.
Finally, here's some future news. The Recall election will cost Wisconsin Tax Payers, between 7 & 9 MILLION Dollars.
CONCLUSION: Even if the union thugs get their way & Walker is kicked-out of office the Fiscal Problems will still remain
I love how the liberals accuse the Republicans of class warfare when it is THEY who engage in it. Who is ALWAYS talking about the "rich"? How about the fact that nearly HALF of the American people pay NO FEDERAL INCOME TAX! The problem is that the PUBLIC sector is out of touch with the rest of world. We can no longer afford to pay for schools that do not educate and pubic bureaucrats that do nothing for a living.
Republicans keep saying that raising taxes on the rich will end jobs. Well, where are the jobs that their lower taxes are supposedly supplying. Those jobs are going to India and other countries. Big corporations are not worried about jobs for us, they just worry about the bottom line and keeping wages low.
@snowsmommy You're right. Those jobs are going overseas. Partly because only one other country in the world has a higher corporate tax than us and partly because they can pay people in most other countries less money. While lowering taxes won't necessarily create jobs, raising taxes on corporations WILL cause this country to steadily bleed jobs. And no, they aren't worried about keeping wages low. It's the costs they want to keep low. There IS a slight difference there.
Actually, the Bush tax cuts greatly benefited the economy after the Dot Com Crash. And if you want to look at what caused this housing crisis, look no further than government intervention in the housing market.
@tazru333 Well, there you go again..full of sound and fury et al et al and signifying not a damn thing..well, except getting his dole from the productive people
@kn9ioutom Obama had control of both house of congress in the first 2 years of his term...Now he has the executive branch and one house of congress....Hope for change Bachman 2012...
@kn9ioutom well lets think about this...Obama had control of the both houses of Congress in his first 2 years of his term.....Oh and I will clue you in on how a market economy's works...With every expansion ,there is a crash..Examples,savings and loan crisis of the 80s,3rd world debt crisis of the 90s,the Dot com bubble of 2000,and the Housing bubble of 2008..But recovery usually arrives a year to 18 months or sooner...Not this time, socialism does not work..Hope for change in 2012.. ;)
Whatever. These guys are nuts. They don't care about the rest of there state. Just there over paid salaries and other benefits that the average person doesn't even get. Vote republican. Vote these selfish ignorant dems out!
The Democrats regulated & overtaxing whole industries out of existence and killing off many private sector unions, flooded the country with cheap labor that suppressed wages and devastated Blue Collar workers, and the Democrats have done nothing to prevent countries like China from stealing our jobs. The GOP has been the same all along, its the Democrats who have betrayed working Americans. Obama and the Democrats had their chance to restore the American Dream and failed with a super majority!
My first rebutle against this video. Democrats wanna dump more money into the over inflated welfare system and into a health care system that'll lower the nations ability to get decent health care and wanna make EVERYONE WHO WORKS pay for it. My second point. Almost everyone in this video is reading from a script. Watch their eyes. RIght, left, right, left. Hmmmm. Wanna talk about class war fare? 1% of the population pays 40% of America's taxes. FYI I'm a janitor so please don't assume I'm rich.
@hooplablahblahblah If your a janitor then realize, You pay a higher percentage of taxes out of your income then a rich man on wall street. Of course 10% of a rich mans income is more then 10% of a mcdonald's worker income. But do the rich need that extra 3-5%? I understand that things cost money, but hate to break the news. Money does not trickle down. Also Obama's health care reform saves money then the current system :\ In fact democrats wanna raise taxes on the rich not working people.
@adbms No you do not. Typical bs wealthy democrats say to fire you guys up so they can have some angry peons to help push through income redistribution bills, that actually end up hurting you all first, and helping the rich democrats who used you. Tsk tsk tsk. Don't be someone's tool.
Our tax system is progressive. Period. End of story. The more you make, the higher income bracket you fall into. Now, the tax code is a whole nother story.
@adbms Sorry I haven't replied earlier. My internet was being stupid so I finally switched my providers. Aaaaaaany who. 1% of the US population pays for 40% of the US's taxes. And what do you think job creation by the rich does. The rich spend money to create a company, creating jobs (which generally speaking, hire people who have less money) and then people get that money. Meaning, trickle down money. Obama's healthcare destroys MILLIONS of jobs! Losing private citizens money. Then those same
@adbms Part Two those same citizens have to pay the taxes. As my previous point would show you, while taxing the rich doesn't make the working class and lower classes, it does cost them something more valuable. Job opportunities.
@hooplablahblahblah Sorry to tell you, money doesn't trickle down. The income inequality in this country is at its highest in 80 years and the tax rates for the rich are the lowest since about the same time. Dont get me wrong Its only a few rich people that take advantage of the situation. But when you have so many of these "job creating" companies outsourcing to different countries while making record profits the whole "trickle down" doesn't work. That idea has never worked.
@adbms "money doesn't trickle down" Then where does YOUR money come from? How do you earn a living?
"...outsourcing to different countries..." If you have a choice between a can of peas that cost 5 dollars and a can of peas that cost 2 dollars, assuming they taste the same, which would you chose? If a company can get the same work for less than half the money, of course they're going to do it. The money IS tricking down. It's just going to other countries.
@adbms Income inequality is largely due to mass immigration,Chinese Yuan policy and deficit spending, not the free market. Mass immigration suppresses wages by creating an oversupply of labor, the undervalued Chinese Yuan steals our Blue Collar jobs, and deficit spending is just a wealth transfer from the poor and middle class to the rich. You want to solve income inequality? Shutdown mass immigration, end the cheap Yuan policy with high tariffs, and balance the Federal Budget. It worked before.
@adbms "You pay a higher percentage of taxes out of your income then a rich man on wall street". Do you have a source for that claim? Or did you just make that up?
@stoicsquirrel Rich people can hire accountants and lawyers to reduce their tax burden. That's why lower rates for high incomes are more effective to raise tax revenue than high rates. Hence the Laffer Curve.
It amazes my how Republicans have convinced people that unions are the devil and that these rich corporations are somehow angels. I'm sorry that people want fair pay, I'm sorry billionaires aren't making more money to exploit the common folk. I'm sorry unions aren't the puppets of corporations...
NEVER VOTE FOR A REPUBLICAN AGAIN! The PAUL RYAN BUDGET PLAN will DESTROY MEDICARE for those of us 54 years or younger. IMAGINE being an old man & having to do BATTLE with a PRIVATE insurance company BECAUSE THE voucher you got is not enough to pay for the coverage you need or you just can't get the coverage you need for your illness! REPUBLICONS slipped this into their budget proposal with NO DISCUSSION OR DEBATE! TELL YOUR STATE REPUBLICON$ THAT YOU WILL NEVER VOTE FOR A REPUBLICON AGAIN!
@poindexterwitkowsky-Couldn't agree with you more. For all too many voters the conservative spin machine has convinced them that having their pocket picked by conservatives and giving it to those who need it the least is the right thing to do. This country has been moving to the right since the election of Reagan. It isn't a coincidence that since that time the quality of life for the average citizen has been in decline while the most wealthy have become more so.Stop the decline- vote democrat
Actually, the term "anti-liberalism" is in reference to Classical Liberalism. Meaning belief in free markets, natural rights, and constitutionalism. In other words, everything so-called American "liberals" stand against.
@s9z9s - American liberals are not against constitutionalism (nothing constitutional about banning gay marriage and abortion or busting unions and giving corporations money) or natural rights.
Actually, since the Constitution doesn't give the federal government authority over gay marriage, abortion, or unions, the states have the right to handle these issues. As for constitutionalism, it's always from the left that we get these attacks on not only the 10th Amendment, but the 1st, 2nd, 5th, and 9th as well, from gun control, to opposition to the Citizens United ruling, to abusive eminent domain (Kelo v. City of New London).
@s9z9s - Actually the 14th Amendment forbids citizens voting on the rights of other citizens. Which is why Civil Rights was not left up to popular vote and gay marriage rights will no longer be denied by the federal government.
"on not only the 10th Amendment"
Most of the violations from that have been from the right. The Patriot Act, Citizens United, Jim Crow Laws, banning abortion, union-busting, etc. are all violations of the 10th Amendment.
@s9z9s - Gun laws targeting minorities are arguably violate the 2nd, etc. It's illegal for state governments to violate the Constitution as well, not just federal. The Constitution says these laws are uniform THROUGHOUT the nation. A so-called "Constitutionalist" should know this.
Right-wingers support eminent domain too. It's called "gentrification", like what Republicans often do to poor communities. Like what is happening now in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.
What a shock. I was trying to have a civil conversation, but the leftist has to resort to the "Republicnz r raycist" card, despite the fact that it's the Democrats we have to thank for every racist institution in history, from Jim Crow to affirmative action. I'd love to see you try explaining how gun control isn't an attack on the 2nd Amendment. Also, photo ID laws are about preventing illegal aliens from voting, and the Democrat-owned media has you brainwashed into thinking otherwise.
@s9z9s - I'm being civil as well. You haven't seen me insult you, have you?
""Republicnz r raycist" card"
1) Because the modern Republican party engages in racist activity. 2) What Democrats are you referring to? The 19th century Democrats were the states' rights conservative party while the Republicans were the progressive-leaning federalist party. Anyone with cursory knowledge of American history is aware of the 1920s-1960s party realignment.
Oh dear. Now the "Fox News! Fox News!" card. Do you statists have any idea how predictable your routine is? First it's "You're racist!", then it's "Fox News! Rush Limbaugh! Fox News!", and finally, it's "You're being paid by the Koch Brothers!" You're insisting that you haven't insulted me, and then proceed to tell me to "Turn off Fox News", implying I'm a cable news zombie.
@s9z9s - Yes, because "Democrat-controlled media" is such original thought. Have any more conspiracy theories?
"you statists"
My dear, Neoconservatives like yourself have absolutely no room to accuse anyone else of statism. You don't get bigger statism than union-busing, abortion-banning, gay marriage-banning, bailout-approving, Patriot Act-approving, NDAA-approving, building fences at the borders, declaring wars against international law, tax cuts for failure and outsourcing, etc.
It's incredible that there are some of you who can even deny the media's bias with a straight face. Do you statists ever wonder why reading the NYTimes, watching CNN, ABC, CBS, and MSNBC, you're constantly having your opinions confirmed for you and never challenged? Do you have the delusion that what you believe is what all "informed" people believe and that's why the media is always agreeing with you? And I see you dropped the photo ID, historical revisionism, and 2nd Amendment subjects.
Everyone to the right of you is a "neoconservative" now? And since Obama supported the bailouts, NDAA, and wars, and signed an extension of the PATRIOT Act, is he a neocon now too?
@s9z9s - Only idiots get their news from cable TV. 2) Fox News (which right-wing statists constantly brag about is the most popular news channel) is somehow not part of "the media"? lmao
Well, I can see we're both using the term "statist" in a disparaging manner, which doesn't make sense to me, as you seem to be a fan of gun control, high taxes, and forcing the federal government's will on the states on social issues. I generally consider people who take up these positions to be on the left. And I don't know what independent studies you're talking about.
@s9z9s - I'm quite sure you have no problem with gun control on certain people (ones who don't look like you) and I'm quite sure you have no problem with raising taxes on the poor.
I think this conversation provides a great view of the bigotry and racism that we always see coming from the left. All of you are constantly betraying your own racial insecurities by projecting race onto every topic possible, every chance you get.
@s9z9s - Do tell what I said that was bigoted or racist. Pointing out Republican bigotry is racist? That's like saying identifying a kidnapper makes me a kidnapper. Lol
@s9z9s - You're the one who supports tax hikes on the poor to pay for tax cuts for the rich and you're the one who supports tyranny of the majority by having rights up for popular vote.
When have I indicated that I support raising taxes on anybody? And murdering your child (abortion) isn't a right. Private property is a right; free speech is a right; trial by jury is a right.
@s9z9s - I haven't heard you condemn tax hikes on the poor. And yes, abortion is a right by law. Unborn embryos and fetuses are not children. Women have a right to their bodies, you have no say
@s9z9s - You want the government to have control over what women do with their bodies. You also want rights up for popular vote (tyranny of the majority) That makes you a statist.
And yes, I do view abortion as in the domain of the federal government, as it is a 5th Amendment issue. Gay marriage however, should go to the states.
People like you, who can't stop talking about race, I believe have insecurities of their own. Looking for every opportunity possible to project your own hatred onto others is your only way of venting this deeply rooted bigotry boiling inside of you. Perhaps it was a negative experience in childhood, or perhaps the reinforcement of negative stereotypes we see in the pop culture and the media.
Could you show me in the Constitution where marriage is mentioned? As for the 5th Amendment, private property cannot be taken without due process of law, and our body is our property.
@s9z9s - That's the point, marriage isn't mentioned. Banning gay marriage has no constitutional validity because the Constitution does not define marriage as a heterosexual union. Banning it is based on nothing more than religious beliefs, which violates the 1st Amendment (no law shall be based on religion). Banning it also violates the 14th Amendment - citizens' rights can't be subject to popular vote. Hence why states were banned from subjecting the civil rights of blacks to popular state vote
@s9z9s - But the 1st Amendment is. Banning gay marriage is a law based on religion, which explicitly defies the 1st Amendment and the 14th (rights being up for popular vote). States don't have the right to violate the Constitution, hence why banning Jim Crow was not left up to state vote or popular vote. Not to mention anyone who believes that some laws should be based on some of the population's religious beliefs but claims to not be a "statist" is a hypocrite and a liar of the highest order.
If you're upset over segregation, blame the Supreme Court, which in Plessy v. Ferguson ruled that Jim Crow didn't violate the 14th Amendment. I disagree with that decision, and you leftists reveal your desperation in having to bring up Jim Crow every time the balance of powers between the states and federal government is mentioned. The balance between the states and federal government is just as important as that between the executive, legislative, and judicial branches.
@s9z9s - I do blame the Supreme Court and the federal gov't for those atrocities along with the federal gov't. My point was that state govs can be just as barbaric and unconstitutional as the federal gov.
I brought up Jim Crow because it's perfectly apropos to what's going on with gay marriage. Just like with JC there are state govs explicitly violating the Constitution and conservatives are again upholding tyranny of the majority and unconstitutionality while accusing others of "statism".
@s9z9s - I meant I blame the federal govt just like I blame the state govts.
"The balance between the states and federal government"
This is the line rightists always attempt to use to justify their authoritarianism. They use the balance of power as an excuse to allow state govs to violate the Constitution. It's the EXACT same argument they used to oppose Brown v. Board of Education. The exact damn argument. Hence why I brought up Jim Crow. And like back then it's just as wrong.
There it goes, I'm at the 195 character limit again. We both agree that Jim Crow is a violation of the Constitution, and we both agree that states cannot do this, so what are we arguing about?
@s9z9s - I'm arguing that banning gay marriage is in the same vein of laws like "Plessy v. Ferguson" and that any state banning it is in direct violation of the Constitution.
The 14th Amendment states that the states can't make any law that abridges the privileges of its people. The gay marriage debate is about granting an additional privilege that did not previously exist.

By your logic no state government should have the right to ban gay marriage then since there is no right to marriage being defined as "man and a woman". Your own logic defeats your own argument.
There is nothing in the Constitution that says the government can't enact gun control either or that the government can't levy different tax rates on people of different income levels. That doesn't stop conservatives from trying to oppose it anyway.
As for commenting, Youtube is only giving me a 195 character limit, so I'm having trouble touching on everything I want to here. Are you having the same problem?
@s9z9s - And, by your logic, the government should be able to ban citizens from owning televisions since the Constitution never specifically mentions television by name and doesn't specifically say that having a TV is a right.
@s9z9s - Yes, I had the same error with it the day before yesterday and part of yesterday. It seems to have cleared up for the time being. At least on this page.
Yes, it seems like it's back at 495 characters again for me. As for banning televisions, look up the 9th Amendment. It basically means that no rights we already have are lost by omission. The Constitution is meant to limit the government's freedoms, not ours, and that's why they had to put the 9th Amendment in, because they never wanted people to interpret the document as meaning "these are the only freedoms you get".
It's your opinion that the unborn child is not an individual. I don't understand this position that the child only receives rights after exiting the birth canal, but you're entitled to it.
@s9z9s - Also, banning certain concenting adults from wedding can easily be interpreted as an abridgement of "Liberty", also part of the Constitution. Telling certain people they cannot marry is taking away their liberty.
You're failing to factor in that we're dealing with the property rights of two separate individuals, which is indicative of the left's anti-human worldview.
@s9z9s - An unborn fetus is not an "indivdidual" and has no constitutional rights as it is not born and not a full person. It's like saying a zygote or a tumor has rights. An unborn fetus can't own property, a pregnant mother can.
It shows the Right's anti-woman sentiments and their statism that they believe the government should own a woman's body. You don't hear the Left proposing that the governemnt should own people and tell them what they can and can't do with their body. The Right does.
That's right, a woman's body is her private property. The govenrment has no right to possess or control what a woman does with her body. The fetus does not have a right to stay in the woman's body, that would violate the woman's constitutional rights. Her 5th and 1st Amendment rights. Banning abortion would violate the 10th Amendment.
You sir are no Constitutionalist. You believe in things that violate the Constitution.
@s9z9s - And let's be real about something else, we all know state govs have had a shitty record on human rights (see Jim Crow). That's the reason you want it as a "states rights" thing.
@s9z9s - The minute state govs don't vote your way rightists go running to the federal gov. Hence why they want a federal ban on abortion despite their states' rights bullshit rhetoric.
When you project race onto a topic which has nothing to do with race, in this case gun rights, I can only take that as an unwitting revelation of your own racial issues. In fact, up until this point, I have never seen the 2nd Amendment hatefully spun into a racial issue. I mean, what isn't racial with you statist, flat-earther types? Is offshore drilling going to be considered racist next?
@s9z9s - Politics have nothing to do with race? That's not true at all. Race does play into gun rights politics as well, no use in trying to play dumb about that.
@s9z9s - Independent studies have confirmed liberals get grilled harder on cable news on average than conservatives. Channels rarely question Republican statist talking points.
Everyone to the right of you is a "neoconservative" now? And since Obama supported the bailouts, NDAA, and wars, and signed a reextension of the PATRIOT Act, is he a neocon now too?
@s9z9s - Yes, Obama is a Neoconservative too for the most part. He's Neoliberal mixed with Neoconservative and the occasional moderate position. Everyone to the left of the GOP is a "leftist"?
@s9z9s - Not to mention racism is bipartisan. The conservative wing of the Republican Party, especially in the South, always cooperated with or refused to act against the conservative segregationist wing of the Democrats in the Solid South. It was known as the "Conservative Coalition". Most segregationists weren't progressive.
"how gun control isn't an attack on the 2nd Amendment"
Because the only people it bans from owning guns are criminals and psychos. Not law-abiding citizens.
@s9z9s - But I guess I can trust a rightist to engage in historical revisionism by pretending the Northern Democrats of the 1960s are the same people as the Dixiecrats of the 1860s.
"to affirmative action"
Affirmative Action was passed by Richard Nixon, chief. Not to mention it benefits mostly white people.
"photo ID laws are about preventing illegal aliens from voting" And a lot of blacks since a lot of poor blacks don't have a gov't ID. Turn off Fox News and you'll learn something.
And I'm afraid it's you who're engaging in revisionism. If the South has always been conservative, how do you explain their support for leftists like Wilson and Franklin Roosevelt?
@s9z9s - "how do you explain their support for leftists like Wilson and Franklin Roosevelt?"
Wilson was hardly a "leftist". A cursory reading of history shows southern conservative Democrats and Republicans were FDR's biggest opponents and spent most of his presidency trying to block everything he passed. Similar to their tactics with Obama now (who is far, far to the right of FDR, FDR was the closest thing to a "leftist" President we ever had).
Gun control is not a violation of the 2nd Amendment. The only examples in American history that arguably are are usually modern laws in urban areas that often put up excessive barriers to ownership or possession for some poor minorities. Of course, white conservatives don't oppose gun control when it comes to minorities.
Let's not even get into conservatives/Republicans enacting barriers to keep minorities from voting, like ID laws.
@s9z9s - Not all capitalists view "free markets" as laissez-faire (which most so-called modern "classical liberals" don't truly believe in either). Nazis were also against social democracy.
Stop whining and crying and join the real world, it's about time. Union bargining is not a right, it's not a right. Get it! It's a privilege and the unions abused it to the point of running every state including Wisconsin near bankruptcy. When a privilege is abused, it's taken away, just like you treat babies, which is what these people are.
All these protest need to go for their AMERICAN DREAM. We start with THEIR PAY CHECKS and dispense it to everyone POORER than them. For what they do not realize is that they are RICHER THAN SOMEONE ELSE. Put that in your CONTRACT
BACK DOOR CONTRACTS that the private sector taxpayer can not see until the deal is done. Yet we have to pay for the contract!!! THE UNION SCAM IS UP> We are talking about the economic ruin of every man, woman, and child in AMERICA> They are talking about THEIR SALARIES,BENEFITS and PENSION payed by all taxpayers.
The only extremism is coming from the democrats that failed to pass a budget last year and helped to put the USA into economic turmoil with Bush/Obama big Socialized intrusive government policies that are failing to create jobs or a recovery. The democrats have lost all credibility with their embrace of Socialism in a constitutional republic, that's real extremism folks.
@gaddez You falsely accuse "private enterprise", whatever that is, of "consistently" doing something. Certain over-taxed and over-regulated industries have left Wisconsin, for example, and relocated to Florida. Florida is a right-to-work state and thus labor is lower. The state also has no income tax. This is better for the relocating industry and it's stock holders. Wisconsin is not the only state chasing tax paying industry away. And "fistfuls" of lying won't bring them back. Word
@GammaRay43 So Florida is the new China is it? Corporations that do not want to pay living wages are NO asset to ANY community. Good riddance Ebenezer Scrooge!
@socialmedic : It's more like "so Wisconsin is the new Soviet, is it?"
Oh yeah, sure, I hear that those slave wage workers are starving to death by millions in Florida, just like the old Soviet empire or socialistic China under Mao.
@shm224 No it's like Walker is the new HITLER. And like Nazi Germany, those who knew Hitler was no good cried Wolf to DEAF ears like yours. Wisconsinians are honest; they say, "I voted for Walker and I am sorry." Wow, an American admitting a mistake? Its a miracle three decades overdue: Americans accepting accountability for their STUPID voting decisions and their effects. Meanwhile morons like you continue to give the fascist Nazi corporacracy free license to rob America blind.
@socialmedic It's not that they "don't want to pay a living wage". It's the fact that they CAN get their work done for cheaper and still get people to buy their product. It's no different than you getting your car fixed at shop A because it's cheaper than shop B. If people in general (it's not just corporations. I don't know why so many don't see that) can buy something cheaper, they usually will. Labor, for instance.
@stoicsquirrel "They" are the "supply-side," legally defined (phony) "persons" who have convinced a good number of sheeple that THEY know better about EVERYTHING than any REAL person, especially well educated people (e.g. fascist anti-intellectualism). THEY are driven by an abstraction called the "bottom line" which takes short term costs into account while DELIBERATELY ignoring long term costs, whatever they may be, and to whom (every living creature present and future, on planet earth).
@socialmedic Whether "THEY" know better that I do or not, it's not my company, nor is it yours. Nor is it the governments'. If a company wants to outsource, they are allowed to. Yes, I think it's a shame to have a company NOT hire American workers. BUT, what do you suggest? Should we just have the government control corporations? I think the answer is, if you don't like what a company does, don't do business with them. If we all did that, those companies would get the message. That's what I do.
@hellotommy "The only extremism is coming from the democrats that failed to pass a budget last year"
Are you not aware what filibustering is? Are you also not aware the republicans, by a wide margin, broke the record for most filibusters ever? Are you also not aware that "constitutional republic" and "socialism" have nothing to do with one another? Are you ALSO not aware that socialism is just a buzzword republicans like to use to get fucks like you riled up?
@BadLuck765 Socialism is characterized by the working-class effectively controlling the means of production & the means of their livelihood either through cooperative enterprises or public ownership (with the state being re-organized under socialism) & self management. Trumpka is in touch with Obama everyday… These people are enemies of liberty – and they will fight tooth & nail to make sure we have less of it. Try to make even modest cuts and the Unions go berserk and riot in the streets.
@SuperNolimetangere Furthermore, if Chris Gardner, who was a poor black doctor and father barely keeping his family fed and lived on the streets for 6 months could pull his bootstraps up and pass the Stockbroker test and become a millionaire stockbroker, you, a white woman, have no excuse. Nobody of any race has any excuses. You are just someone who thinks the world owes you a favor when you should know the world owes you nothing, especially not collective bargaining.
@SuperNolimetangere There are plenty of people without jobs and would give anything to be working even if it's for slightly less and they know they are expendable unlike you fringe left wing radical commie-pinkos who either do not get what strikebreakers are or just don't care about America. You and your anti-American ways are not welcome in the USA. Go to Canada or back to Europe you commie-pinko bitch while niggers go back to Africa or pick fruit from crops in the hot sun.
@SuperNolimetangere Unions couldn't do shit. Businesses are the rule of this country. Businesses have the gold, so they make the rules commie-pinko bitch.
Republicans leaders will call this socialist or anti-American... Republican voters will continue to be lied to and manipulated... middle class families will suffer... then they will blame it on Obama.
@SuperNolimetangere You Union supporters are done for you trashy bitch. I hate commies and commie-pinko leftists. I hate liberals, I hate niggers and I hate feminists.
@SuperNolimetangere You would do nothing to me. I'd punch your ass in the mouth, slap you in the face and taser your bitch ass and make you cook my dinner at the same time bitch.
Walker wins, unions lose. All of you bleeding heart liberals, potheads, commie-pinko leftists, bunny huggers, pillow biting fags, man hating feminists and crybaby ass whiny niggers get your asses back to work.
Do us all a favor, turn on fox news, bend-over, and get ready to be to be "filled" with more rhetoric to regurgitate. Your hate speech is refreshing..how you might ask? It affirms my notion that only morons would support Walker.

@Lucky12Duck Meanwhile in America, we are fighting back Tea Party FASCIST CORPORATISTS attacking us who don't give a damn if public workers have a decent living wage or not! Why don't YOU pay your own wages for 5% lower towards the deficit if you work in the private sector, if YOU don't want corporations to pay corporate taxes instead of getting continued cuts, loopholes and exemptions?
@HUMANSAREBENEATHME Scott Walker, Rick Scott, and the rest of these Tea Party governors are from a very evil elite. These are the type of men that Our Founding Fathers declared independence from, and WON! The US Constitution is their everlasting victory over abusive aristocracy and callous corporations. We will prevail, we have the living breathing document on our side!!!
@Yankhadenough You're forgetting about RUPERT MURDOCH and his FOX NEWS CABAL.This TREASONOUS FOREIGNER(MURDOCH) and his talking heads, need to be held accountable!!
As long as FOX NEWS remains in business, the manipulation of the low education masses, will continue by gangster capitalists criminals and their republican lapdogs...Time to remove the snake's(Fox News) head...
@Yankhadenough In order to pay these union workers the outrageous wages they demand, the government will have to raise taxes. Even on poor people like me. THAT is what our founding fathers declared independence from. Being forced to to pay high taxes while having no say.
@stoicsquirrel you r buying into a BIG LIE. I make 23,800 yr (gross) as public worker after 10 yrs of service in FL. Now Rick Scott wants to tax me 3% a year while continuing to allow corporations to go Scott-free on taxes. The reason why revenue is dried up in the State of Florida is because the past three Republican governors want state revenue dried up so that their corporate campaign donators can get away with tax exemptions & loopholes. Then GOP cuts Public Services for poor & disabled!
@Yankhadenough There's a corporate tax of 5.5% in Florida. There are states with higher corp. tax rates that are doing worse and there are states that have LOWER tax rates that are doing better. That being the case, there must be another reason for for revenues "drying up". Do you even research this stuff before making claims?
Corporations who invest in renewable energy are eligible for a tax break in Florida. Is that the kind of loophole you're against?
@stoicsquirrel In Florida, 98% of businesses pay 0% taxes due to tax exemptions and loopholes given to businesses and corporations in our state. That is why the State of Florida has a deficit, because our state has NOT been collecting revenue from corporations! What we have is a REVENUE problem NOT a deficit problem. State of Florida needs to STOP tax loopholes and exemptions for corporations!
Keep fighting Governor wanker does not stand a chance against the people.

Big corporations are not worried about jobs for us, they just worry about the bottom line and keeping wages low.
snowsmommy 5 months ago
@snowsmommy You're right. Those jobs are going overseas. Partly because only one other country in the world has a higher corporate tax than us and partly because they can pay people in most other countries less money. While lowering taxes won't necessarily create jobs, raising taxes on corporations WILL cause this country to steadily bleed jobs. And no, they aren't worried about keeping wages low. It's the costs they want to keep low. There IS a slight difference there.

FYI I'm a janitor so please don't assume I'm rich.
hooplablahblahblah 10 months ago
@hooplablahblahblah If your a janitor then realize, You pay a higher percentage of taxes out of your income then a rich man on wall street. Of course 10% of a rich mans income is more then 10% of a mcdonald's worker income. But do the rich need that extra 3-5%? I understand that things cost money, but hate to break the news. Money does not trickle down. Also Obama's health care reform saves money then the current system :\ In fact democrats wanna raise taxes on the rich not working people.
adbms 10 months ago
@adbms No you do not. Typical bs wealthy democrats say to fire you guys up so they can have some angry peons to help push through income redistribution bills, that actually end up hurting you all first, and helping the rich democrats who used you. Tsk tsk tsk. Don't be someone's tool.
Our tax system is progressive. Period. End of story. The more you make, the higher income bracket you fall into. Now, the tax code is a whole nother story.
bweazel 9 months ago
@adbms Sorry I haven't replied earlier. My internet was being stupid so I finally switched my providers. Aaaaaaany who. 1% of the US population pays for 40% of the US's taxes. And what do you think job creation by the rich does. The rich spend money to create a company, creating jobs (which generally speaking, hire people who have less money) and then people get that money. Meaning, trickle down money. Obama's healthcare destroys MILLIONS of jobs! Losing private citizens money. Then those same
hooplablahblahblah 9 months ago
@adbms Part Two those same citizens have to pay the taxes. As my previous point would show you, while taxing the rich doesn't make the working class and lower classes, it does cost them something more valuable. Job opportunities.
hooplablahblahblah 9 months ago
@hooplablahblahblah Sorry to tell you, money doesn't trickle down. The income inequality in this country is at its highest in 80 years and the tax rates for the rich are the lowest since about the same time. Dont get me wrong Its only a few rich people that take advantage of the situation. But when you have so many of these "job creating" companies outsourcing to different countries while making record profits the whole "trickle down" doesn't work. That idea has never worked.
adbms 9 months ago
@adbms "money doesn't trickle down" Then where does YOUR money come from? How do you earn a living?
"...outsourcing to different countries..." If you have a choice between a can of peas that cost 5 dollars and a can of peas that cost 2 dollars, assuming they taste the same, which would you chose? If a company can get the same work for less than half the money, of course they're going to do it. The money IS tricking down. It's just going to other countries.
stoicsquirrel 9 months ago
@adbms Income inequality is largely due to mass immigration,Chinese Yuan policy and deficit spending, not the free market. Mass immigration suppresses wages by creating an oversupply of labor, the undervalued Chinese Yuan steals our Blue Collar jobs, and deficit spending is just a wealth transfer from the poor and middle class to the rich. You want to solve income inequality? Shutdown mass immigration, end the cheap Yuan policy with high tariffs, and balance the Federal Budget. It worked before.

@stoicsquirrel Rich people can hire accountants and lawyers to reduce their tax burden. That's why lower rates for high incomes are more effective to raise tax revenue than high rates. Hence the Laffer Curve.

@A86
Actually, the term "anti-liberalism" is in reference to Classical Liberalism. Meaning belief in free markets, natural rights, and constitutionalism. In other words, everything so-called American "liberals" stand against.
s9z9s 1 week ago
@s9z9s - American liberals are not against constitutionalism (nothing constitutional about banning gay marriage and abortion or busting unions and giving corporations money) or natural rights.
A86 1 week ago
@A86
Actually, since the Constitution doesn't give the federal government authority over gay marriage, abortion, or unions, the states have the right to handle these issues. As for constitutionalism, it's always from the left that we get these attacks on not only the 10th Amendment, but the 1st, 2nd, 5th, and 9th as well, from gun control, to opposition to the Citizens United ruling, to abusive eminent domain (Kelo v. City of New London).
s9z9s 1 week ago
This has been flagged as spam show
@s9z9s - Actually the 14th Amendment forbids citizens voting on the rights of other citizens.
A86 1 week ago
@s9z9s - Gun laws targeting minorities are arguably violate the 2nd, etc. It's illegal for state governments to violate the Constitution as well, not just federal. The Constitution says these laws are uniform THROUGHOUT the nation. A so-called "Constitutionalist" should know this.
Right-wingers support eminent domain too. It's called "gentrification", like what Republicans often do to poor communities. Like what is happening now in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.
A86 1 week ago

What a shock. I was trying to have a civil conversation, but the leftist has to resort to the "Republicnz r raycist" card, despite the fact that it's the Democrats we have to thank for every racist institution in history, from Jim Crow to affirmative action. I'd love to see you try explaining how gun control isn't an attack on the 2nd Amendment. s9z9s 1 week ago

"should go to the states"

A86 1 week ago
@s9z9s - Banning gay rights by popular vote violates the 14th Amendment.
You're fine with statism, as long as it's from state govs or the federal gov on issues states won't cosign with you on.
A86 1 week ago
@A86
People like you, who can't stop talking about race, I believe have insecurities of their own. Looking for every opportunity possible to project your own hatred onto others is your only way of venting this deeply rooted bigotry boiling inside of you. Perhaps it was a negative experience in childhood, or perhaps the reinforcement of negative stereotypes we see in the pop culture and the media.
s9z9s 1 week ago
@A86
Could you show me in the Constitution where marriage is mentioned? As for the 5th Amendment, private property cannot be taken without due process of law, and our body is our property.
s9z9s 1 week ago
@s9z9s - That's the point, marriage isn't mentioned. Banning gay marriage has no constitutional validity because the Constitution does not define marriage as a heterosexual union. Banning it is based on nothing more than religious beliefs, which violates the 1st Amendment (no law shall be based on religion). Banning it also violates the 14th Amendment - citizens' rights can't be subject to popular vote. Hence why states were banned from subjecting the civil rights of blacks to popular state vote
A86 1 week ago
@A86
Marriage isn't a right granted to us in the Constitution, so it goes to the states. And you're not reading the 1st Amendment correctly.
s9z9s 1 week ago
@s9z9s - Marriage would fall under the "Pursuit of Happiness" part since that's what marriage is chiefly about in modern times.
A86 1 week ago
@A86
The Declaration of Indpendence is not a legal document.
s9z9s 1 week ago
@s9z9s - But the 1st Amendment is. Banning gay marriage is a law based on religion, which explicitly defies the 1st Amendment and the 14th (rights being up for popular vote). States don't have the right to violate the Constitution, hence why banning Jim Crow was not left up to state vote or popular vote. Not to mention anyone who believes that some laws should be based on some of the population's religious beliefs but claims to not be a "statist" is a hypocrite and a liar of the highest order.
A86 1 week ago
@A86
If you're upset over segregation, blame the Supreme Court, which in Plessy v. Ferguson ruled that Jim Crow didn't violate the 14th Amendment. I disagree with that decision, and you leftists reveal your desperation in having to bring up Jim Crow every time the balance of powers between the states and federal government is mentioned. The balance between the states and federal government is just as important as that between the executive, legislative, and judicial branches.
s9z9s 1 week ago
@s9z9s - I do blame the Supreme Court and the federal gov't for those atrocities along with the federal gov't. My point was that state govs can be just as barbaric and unconstitutional as the federal gov.
I brought up Jim Crow because it's perfectly apropos to what's going on with gay marriage. Just like with JC there are state govs explicitly violating the Constitution and conservatives are again upholding tyranny of the majority and unconstitutionality while accusing others of "statism".
A86 1 week ago
@s9z9s - I meant I blame the federal govt just like I blame the state govts.
"The balance between the states and federal government"
This is the line rightists always attempt to use to justify their authoritarianism. They use the balance of power as an excuse to allow state govs to violate the Constitution. It's the EXACT same argument they used to oppose Brown v. Board of Education. The exact damn argument. Hence why I brought up Jim Crow. And like back then it's just as wrong.
A86 1 week ago
@A86
There it goes, I'm at the 195 character limit again. We both agree that Jim Crow is a violation of the Constitution, and we both agree that states cannot do this, so what are we arguing about?

By your logic no state government should have the right to ban gay marriage then since there is no right to marriage being defined as "man and a woman". Your own logic defeats your own argument.
There is nothing in the Constitution that says the government can't enact gun control either or that the government can't levy different tax rates on people of different income levels. That doesn't stop conservatives from trying to oppose it anyway.

A86 1 week ago
@s9z9s - The minute state govs don't vote your way rightists go running to the federal gov. Hence why they want a federal ban on abortion despite their states' rights bullshit rhetoric.
A86 1 week ago
@A86
When you project race onto a topic which has nothing to do with race, in this case gun rights, I can only take that as an unwitting revelation of your own racial issues. In fact, up until this point, I have never seen the 2nd Amendment hatefully spun into a racial issue. I mean, what isn't racial with you statist, flat-earther types? Is offshore drilling going to be considered racist next?
s9z9s 1 week ago
@s9z9s - Politics have nothing to do with race? That's not true at all. Race does play into gun rights politics as well, no use in trying to play dumb about that.
A86 1 week ago
@s9z9s - Hatefully spun? What race am I hating against? Republicans aren't a race.
Of course you view abortion as in federal domain. Rightists always do when state govs don't agree with them.

Everyone to the right of you is a "neoconservative" now? And since Obama supported the bailouts, NDAA, and wars, and signed a reextension of the PATRIOT Act, is he a neocon now too?
s9z9s 1 week ago

A86 1 week ago
@A86
And I'm afraid it's you who're engaging in revisionism.

A86 1 week ago
@s9z9s - "from gun control"

@hellotommy So what is throwing fistfuls of public money at private enterprise that consistently ships work overseas?
gaddez 11 months ago
@gaddez You falsely accuse "private enterprise", whatever that is, of "consistently" doing something. Certain over-taxed and over-regulated industries have left Wisconsin, for example, and relocated to Florida. Florida is a right-to-work state and thus labor is lower. The state also has no income tax. This is better for the relocating industry and it's stock holders. Wisconsin is not the only state chasing tax paying industry away. And "fistfuls" of lying won't bring them back. Word

THEY are driven by an abstraction called the "bottom line" which takes short term costs into account while DELIBERATELY ignoring long term costs, whatever they may be, and to whom (every living creature present and future, on planet earth).
socialmedic 10 months ago
@socialmedic Whether "THEY" know better that I do or not, it's not my company, nor is it yours. Nor is it the governments'. If a company wants to outsource, they are allowed to. Yes, I think it's a shame to have a company NOT hire American workers. BUT, what do you suggest? Should we just have the government control corporations? I think the answer is, if you don't like what a company does, don't do business with them. If we all did that, those companies would get the message. That's what I do.

BadLuck765 11 months ago
@BadLuck765 Socialism is characterized by the working-class effectively controlling the means of production & the means of their livelihood either through cooperative enterprises or public ownership (with the state being re-organized under socialism) & self management. Trumpka is in touch with Obama everyday… These people are enemies of liberty – and they will fight tooth & nail to make sure we have less of it. Try to make even modest cuts and the Unions go berserk and riot in the streets.
hellotommy 10 months ago
@SuperNolimetangere Furthermore, if Chris Gardner, who was a poor black doctor and father barely keeping his family fed and lived on the streets for 6 months could pull his bootstraps up and pass the Stockbroker test and become a millionaire stockbroker, you, a white woman, have no excuse. @Yankhadenough In order to pay these union workers the outrageous wages they demand, the government will have to raise taxes. Even on poor people like me. THAT is what our founding fathers declared independence from. Being forced to to pay high taxes while having no say.
stoicsquirrel 11 months ago
@stoicsquirrel you r buying into a BIG LIE. I make 23,800 yr (gross) as public worker after 10 yrs of service in FL. Now Rick Scott wants to tax me 3% a year while continuing to allow corporations to go Scott-free on taxes. The reason why revenue is dried up in the State of Florida is because the past three Republican governors want state revenue dried up so that their corporate campaign donators can get away with tax exemptions & loopholes. Then GOP cuts Public Services for poor & disabled!
Yankhadenough 10 months ago
@Yankhadenough There's a corporate tax of 5.5% in Florida. There are states with higher corp. tax rates that are doing worse and there are states that have LOWER tax rates that are doing better. That being the case, there must be another reason for for revenues "drying up". Do you even research this stuff before making claims?
Corporations who invest in renewable energy are eligible for a tax break in Florida. Is that the kind of loophole you're against?
stoicsquirrel 10 months ago
@Yankhadenough May I ask what you do for a living? And what do your private counterparts make in your area?
stoicsquirrel 10 months ago
@stoicsquirrel In Florida, 98% of businesses pay 0% taxes due to tax exemptions and loopholes given to businesses and corporations in our state. That is why the State of Florida has a deficit, because our state has NOT been collecting revenue from corporations! What we have is a REVENUE problem NOT a deficit problem. State of Florida needs to STOP tax loopholes and exemptions for corporations!
