  • putting out a report like this causes uneducated people to immediately turn its back on the technology, ignorance breeds ignorance.

  • the benefits out weights the issues that it is posing to the general public. there more issues associated carbon emissions, and we do worse things to our bodies every day that we know are known carcinogens. to be fair the poisons that cause the most amount of damage to our bodies are respectively about 1/3rd due to tobacco usage and the other 1/3rd due to a poor diet. and to go on about the phenol, we even use the most deadly toxin of all - Botulinum toxin in small doses in botox

  • As for phenol It was used in high amounts with the Nazi's but it is currently used in products that we use every day including sunscreen, and aspirin. in small doses it is acceptable. (and yes I do know its link to BPA) as for Styrene the US EPA has described it as "a suspected carcinogen" but it has not been classified as such in any other nation, and we also must remember it has only been in it current form for less then 30 years.

  • It is fear mongering, especially when presented and promoted in a manner such as this. The study was just released this week from Berlin Alab Laboratory.

  • This is a fear mongering report. The UV coming from the light bulbs are comparable to that of the sun, meaning that a small percentage is more effected then others. . It's making seem like this was a huge conspiracy. For the past few years drs have been prescribing CFL bulbs for people who suffer from S.A.D, meanings they have known about the UV coming from them. If anything people should. be more worried about the usage of mercury that are in these bulbs

  • @TamaraTamel Well its not fear mongering when its true, Its not only mercury they contain, but lots of other carginigens such as Phenol which was used by Nazis in Auswitz, and other toxins like Napthaline & Styrene from ethylbenzene, used in rubber & plastics.
