I dont go out to read. I just stay at home on my laptop, though sometimes this makes me get headaches. On that occasion I take out my dog for a walk and make a cup of coffee to wake me up when I get back. I'm writing a pirate story.

I loved this video. I carry most of that stuff with me...though I don't have coffee receipts more like smoothie receipts for me. And I usually carry junior mints and hand sanitzer with me as well. Good luck with your book this year.

I have all that random junk in my writer's bag. My friends always ask, "Melissa, what the hell do you have in your backpack?" Except I don't bring my laptop, but my trusty 'ol USB drive as a stylish necklace. I have like five notebooks filled with plot less, random writing when I'm supposed to be taking notes. No one understands why, but then again, who does?

And for variety, add a Twix fun-size bar from Halloween.

Thank you for posting this. Now I know what I should start carrying around with me everywhere. I always have most of that stuff and some more with me while I'm out and about with a backpack. I also have books with me in case I get writers block, reading helps me get out of the writers block But I never thought of having a bunch of pencils with me. I always just have a couple of refillable pencils with me, but never have the extra led I end up needing and I can't carry a laptop around with me.

That's a lot to have in one bag. Mine is probably worse. I found a backpack I used in the first grade and found a two stale cookies and a mess of papers and doodles the I have hidden deep within the junkyard I call a room. Oh! I have the exact same laptop. Mine acts retarded sometimes, but is overall good to me. I can't say I'm always good to it. My dogs will make a toy out of anything...

wow. This is the anatomy of my bag pretty much. Not even kidding. Except for the laptop, I usually write it all out by hand, then type it up, if the ideas go anywhere... and minus the tooth... unless it WAS an eraser (and I really dont need to know)... lol

The movie did Lemony Snicket absolutely NO justice at all. -head shake- Except for Jim Carey, which was the only good thing about it, in my opinion.

I've gotten better about my own bag. I used to use my library book bag, but now I've improved to a smaller cloth bag. (I carry around way too much more than I should for the average high school student.)

I wish I could take my laptop with me. It'd be....just ASKING for some high school punk to steal it, though. =/
