  • 2700っぽい振付だな

  • The one on the left wants his belt tucking in properly lol.

  • 杏樹はなんでこの過去を日本でひた隠してんの?

    Kakkoの過去、ナンチテwwwwwwwwwww

  • It's Matteo from Benidorm on the right.

  • 鈴木あんじゅ

  • I've uploaded the music video for this - see my channel.

  • I had this on vinyl back in the day and autographed by Kakko herself! A perk of knowing someone who worked in a record shop. The disc is long since unplayable. :( A shame it's not available on iTunes.

Thanks for posting this. Made me smile!

  • What the hell was that big balloon behind Kakko's ass at 2:45? LOL

  • She looks/seems so 'nice'... Poor thing, she was probably heart-broken when her pop career didn't take off, and still cries herself to sleep at night over it :-( I'd "make her a plate of spaghetti" - Tori Amos said a comment like this when asked about Madonna in a '92 interview, saying that she probably hasn't been nurtured much as a person.

  • Pity she didn't have even 1 minor 'hit'. She seems like a 'nice' girl who probably got gutted/burnt by PWL and the fact that her entire trip from Japan to the UK was really a waste of time. No doubt her resulting self-penned 'angsty'-and-quite-good album inspired by the ordeal either never got released or was shelved.

  • Kakko was fabulous, and so was Mandy! I can't believe the tastelessness of some people.

  • Japanese women are very beautiful :))

  • this song is very like something from 1986, it sounded soooo dated in 1990, its very sabrina sounding. mandy smith was fabulous, her album is my 2nd pwl favorite, kylies first one is my fave pwl album.

  • who puts this stuff up? gotta love it.... good for a laugh...

  • No wonder she flopped over here! What a load of old shite! Its like a Kylie z-side! Cute dancers tho!

  • arrghh! Someone stabbed my ears with pencils - oh wait, it's only Kakko singing.

This is an abomination. Shame on you, PW!

  • Good god. It's no wonder Stock-Aitken-Waterman fell apart if that's the kind of crap they were producing toward the end of their time together.

  • God those dancers are rubbish, did they find em at the flying handbag in Blackpool!

  • she was well fuckable...i bet she`s a right fat cunt wih udders and 34 kids these days....or dead

  • Jesus, 'Ooh, ooh, ooh, we should be dancing?' Is Variety Lab really a swagger jacker?

  • Actually, she, SUZUKI ANJU 鈴木杏樹 is very famous actress, MC, in Japan.

  • did pete waterman seriously think she could b a success????? awful.

  • Of course he did LOL! pwl hits were HUGE in Japan so why not make Jap-PWL! lol! probably thought he'd struck a gold mine!.

  • im talking about a success in the uk tho! it is arguably the worst pwl release ever. the standard of pwl singles declined rapidly in 1990 tho and this was an example! if she was on the x factor she wouldnt get past the auditions!!!

  • No shit--gotta love how the hook uses a pentatonic scale i.e. a "Japanese scale." They did the same thing with "What Kind of Fool, too."

  • This 3 minutes and 5 seconds is very very long

  • HAHAHAHA!!! I just thought the dancer on the left was David Henrie.

  • Lol the dancing and music was so distracting that i didn't even notice the little heart-shaped balloon until after i saw the video a second time.

  • STOP!!!!

  • She is Crap and no way is she as good as Mandy Smith

  • I agree no comparism at ALL! mandy forever :P

  • Sorry guys, although this is not in the league of say Kylie, Donna Summer or Hazell Dean, it is way better than anything Mandy Smith could ever deliver. Talking about flogging a dead horse that one...

  • Each to their own :P hahhaha

  • @pwlmagic mandy had success in europe and japan and looked fabulous, she was the best pwl pop star after kylie.

  • Actually, they SHOULDN'T be dancing. Not in public, anyway.

  • Kakko is very cool. Katy was compared to Kakko on the Hit Factory Forum in language unfavourable to both of them. It seems that fashion and technical skill is more important than soul these days- I think it was really cool of SAW to work with an Asian artist. There's a lot of Asian people in the UK (sorry Dannii) , especially of mixed origin.

    a great track

Katy is of native Australasian descent...

    Andy W

    stellar art wars

  • Pupssikboi, please let me know where you found it or please send me a copy... I have some rare PWL mp3s to trade.

  • There's a lot of people who slag off Kakko's voice, but I still she say she's a hell of a lot better than Mandy Smith ever was.

  • Is that Mark Balas dancing on the left? It sure looks like it.... man! he is a hottie back then as well as now!

  • This is lost pop. I wish I could download these tracks but they don't seem to have made it to the digital age ;o(

  • It has! ;) I have it on my iPod right now.

  • how old is this is she still hot?

  • she does adverts for seaweed sandiches or summat in Japan - totally true! She also is in quite a bit of TV there although she should really come back here and reboot her pop carer.

  • Please please can someone locate and upload the music videos for Kakko's songs!? Then we can get started on the Kakko-roll...

  • How wonderfully gay is that!!? lol I like the guy on the left, I bet he's pretty active in bed, he's got the pelvic thrusting motion down to a T!!! heh he ;-)

  • LOL that was awesome

  • Love the dancing boys with the very high waisted jeans and big floppy belts. Oh how I did that look! I miss the 80s!

  • MTV if the Axis won the war

  • I saw this here in 2006, but thought I would comment now ;-) Thanks so much for uploading this - I remember seeing ads for this in Number One (UK pop magazine) in 1990, and wondering what on earth it would sound like, but not knowing until you posted this. It's quite catchy actually - pity it wasn't a hit.

  • I would love to do a cover version of this song... I love it.

  • Surely its about time we started a 'Kakko roll' instead of that obvious and very workaday 'Rick Rolling' business. Who needs to see the seen-it-all-before Rick Astley when this undiscovered gem is crying out for exposure! Its all about Kakko!

  • I totally agree! I was a closet Kakko lover !! I bought two 12 inches of this and also her second What Kind of Fool! Let's get dancing on the web again!

  • I agree a Kakko roll would be so funny.

  • What the fuck!!....

  • does anyone have the video for what kind of fool

  • ROFLMFAO

  • She has not been change ever

(sorry, I do not better English. )

  • I absolutely love this video--it's so bad it's good. The choreography is just wonderfully awful--clearly the dancers are NOT American. Too bad this song flopped, though--by the time this single was released (in 1990) Stock Aitken Waterman were already declining in popularity. I'd also love to see it get reissued, but I may as well pray for a miracle.

  • It didn't work though. I don't think it was even released in Japan. Mandy Smith didn't need the competition I guess... :-) Later Kakko became Anju Suzuki... And a japanese idol singer covered the song, but I can't remember who...

  • Love the dancers! I remember reading of Kakko in 1990 but never heard any of her songs. Nice to see this one for the first time! Thanks for posting - I remember wearing those jeans that the guys are wearing and those belts! (Cringe-factor kicking in now!)but its fun to look back - who knows Pete Waterman might give this song a dusting down and give it to one of his current acts such as Scooch!

  • the guy on the left is dancing like he is on crack or something looking a hot mess

  • This is the best song EVER!

  • I loved this song back in my teens years. Never saw this vid before but um...it doesn't stand the test of time...

  • SUZUKI ANJU YANKE! now She become good actress and MC in Japan

  • Another SAW song I have never heard of until now. Very cool song too.

  • I agree. Just look at the Reynolds Girls or the Blakeney Twins... Kakko was much better.

  • God.. This brings back memories! I was at high school when this came out... I forced people to listen to it cos I loved it so much. Still have my cassette single!!

  • OMG ! Little did I know such a lovely vid of her ever exists and I'm very happy to see her singing for the first time.

    Thanks for sharing ! :D

  • Thnx. Danniiboy ~ I've been waiting to see a video to this for 16 years ! (Do you know is there was an official 'promo' video to this ever made ?) cheers ~ Gruffkub ~
