The way I hear it, it goes: Taeyeon, Jessica, Tiffany, Seohyun, Sunny, Yuri - Sooyoung, Yoona, and Hyoyeon are all interchangeable in my opinion. But as of recent Sooyoung is in the lead of the two.

Sunny's actually considered a lead vocalist, which is less of a main but still gets a decent amount of lines, SooRi usually have the same lines or one gets one more like in Hoot. SooRi has 2, Oh they have 2, etc. Hyoyeon and Yoona are usually the ones that get 1 to 2 or none as of late, Hyoyeon being ahead of her. So I think SooRi are considered "sub-vocalists" and HyoYoong are considered "vocalists."
