  • Can I get the tab somewhere ? This is awesome !!! =D

  • Wow, this is amazing. Do you suggest a Cittern or a long scale Zouk like you have? Nobody over here in the states seems to know about either.

  • @xxguitarhero48xx Hey man, thanks. I have both cittern and long scale bouzouki. They're actually pretty different (at least the ones I have). Bouzouki tuned GDAE or GDAD... Cittern tuned GDGDG. The Bouzouki comes with octave strings, while the citterns usually come with unison strings. I love them both, but I'm finding that I record more with the bouzouki.

  • @BmoreBusker Thanks for the info. I was told that Zouks are "murder on the left hand" for melody playing; and also that Octave Mandolins are better for mandolin players, while Citterns are better for guitarists. I'm a guitar player, but I'm not sure at all what I want. All of them sound sweet. I'm trying to figure it out in my head, but which instrument has the smallest jump" from string to string? I'm still getting used to mandolins being in 5ths.

  • @xxguitarhero48xx Playing a long scale bouzouki takes time getting used to playing. I didn't like playing it without a capo for a few months, because the frets are so far apart towards the headstock. But I love the sound of the long scale because it has such a nice deep tone to it

  • @BmoreBusker I noticed that. Is there a large difference in the tuning of an octave mandolin and a bouzouki?

  • Great playing! Where did you buy your lefty bouzouki?

    ;)

  • @negativebuzz Sorry for late reply. This was made left handed by Fylde in England.

  • Great tune, nicely played. Are you GDAE or GDAD? Bri

  • Thanks, that's a Terry Woods original from a collaboration album called Lilt - "For the Children".

I don't do the tune justice and I'm not even sure if I'm playing it correctly as I'm going by memory of the tune. Lost that album a long time ago and it's out of print (I'm pretty sure)

I'm tuned GDAD, and love it for the high droning D
