Bluedrake is correct. You have to invest a LOT of time in this game to be able to do what you see in this video...unless you cheat.

Some of us don't have that sort of choice. I picked the X-Tended mod Terran start, so all races apart from Argon won't have you in their sectors or stations. I have to admit, it was fun sending my M5s to map out a path to Argon Prime through hostile sectors then jumping my Argon-Terran fleet there, Galactica style.

There aren't really missions in the traditional sense. If you land at a station and use the Bulletin Board, occasionally a randomly generated mission will appear for you to take. There's the plot stuff that shows right off the bat. Otherwise you just do what you want.

It exists a cheat package. I have it and its really good. You can have sohnen ships or terran valhalla. You can be god if you want to :-)

Try using less mouse while playing X.

You can use the command menue with Shift + C and then using Numbers, like

Shift + C, 1, 3 -> move to sector

Its a lot faster than using the mouse, in my opinion

To take down a station the fastest method is to ignore the shields completely and go Old Tech on the target. Lots and lots of Mass Drivers. :D Say an M^ class with 6-8 main guns and MD's on the turrents, tell turrets to attck your target(Station). It'll eat the hull away faster than the shields and pop before you know it. Fastest way of taking out pesky pirate bases after buying the "illegal" upgrades you want.
