  • Judas is Heavy Metal End of Story

  • Jesus.... I'm 26 and I've seen them 5 times. Some of their song send a shiver down my spine.... Judas priest is the best band of all time. FACT.

  • @Marcg1986c mate I'm 26 and I've seen them a few times too. Wish more guys our age liked them!!

  • Crazy like/dislike ratio! The numbers don't lie!

  • @TBass050

thats only because justin beiber fans dont listen to judas priest.

    look at it this way.

5 people came here looking for judas priest, and were diappointed

  • there are onlt 3 things that will survive a nuclear war 1.cockroaches 2.ted nugents double live gonzo. and 3.judas priests finest hour sad wings of destiny.

  • Rob sang, and the Gods wept

  • @cyberwaffles

the gods wept for "pink floyd ECHOES" live at pompeii

look up "seamus" live in pompeii

    its god singing

  • @edslides1 dude i've always loved Echoes live in pompeii. been hooked to that song for years. definitely like that song more than this, but halford's voice is still amazing in this track.

i also like saucerful of secrets, careful with that axe eugene, and other stuff from live in pompeii. wish you were here, dark side, the wall, animals, ummagumma, etc are great stuff too. i even like syd's work with them in the beginning.

  • Sabbath wrote book one and Priest wrote book two...and there's others than came after,

  • Rob rocks !

  • WHAT A FUCKING VOICE

  • People get too up in arms about the shroom lyrics. Because they're not; JP was never a stoner band. The lyrics are about the band, and their close-to-disbandment in the 70's. They followed their dreams (dreamer), got lost in the clouds (fame), but didn't really know if they were happy (nihilism from success) and Halford asks if they can find a way out, one can surely try, but there might not be hope. Luckily they did find their way out, and have been preaching the metal for 30+ years. :)

  • @DoYouWorry haha justify it all you want but this song is about smoking weed, not shrooms

  • @TheHalfordFreak i think i remember reading or watching an interview with halford and he simply stated "he doesn't exactly know what the song is about." to him it was pretty much run of the mill lyrics around the time it was made and there was nothing significant about them. i do think this was around the time they were experimenting with psychedelics however. who knows really.

  • @DoYouWorry the thing with music and any form of creative writing is that the listener will have different interpretations of the song. that's the beauty and sometimes the sophistication of good song writing. a good song is meant to be somewhat vague and ambiguous. look at roger water's lyrics in pink floyd. so many of their lyrics can have dual meaning or different takes on them. it's like analyzing a rorschach painting: what do you see/hear?

  • i fuckin love it. this is the shit to fuck to. fuck luther teddy p. marvin .axe anyone .....sucka

  • Always had a soft spot for this album ! Especially these two songs ! JP didn`t start with British Steel !! Ace album !! Peace Ye`All !!

  • Jumalainen kappale musiikin historiaa !

  • My song

  • Bravo! Brillant!!!!

  • Even though I favor their more heavy stuff, this has got to be my 3rd favorite, behind Cathedral Spires and Here Come the Tears

  • its tebow time. *slowly bows head*

  • Saw this band 3 times and in the day they were the best!

  • What can I say about this song that hasn't already been said. I still have the LP, it was songs like this that made the 70's the greatest era of Rock ever. My all time favorite. Thank you Judas Priest.

  • Standing by my window, i jumped from it (9 floors). Crippled but happy to be listening to this. d(:

  • @pervertedmind Holy shit dude! I hope you feel better man!

  • @chefmastershake Thanks. :) Watch my videos if you want.

  • This song just blows my mind

  • brividi...

  • such profound lyrics! ARE we really happy? DO we really know? should we follow the purple hazy clouds? out in the cosmos, is there really a single sonic sound? that is vibrating constantly? that if we were to hold on to the note, we would realize our minds were free?

    someone was trippin on shrooms.

  • Anyone know the chord progression in dreamer deceiver?

  • @metalmilitia137 Em D C Em for the 2:58 part at least ;)

  • @metalmilitia137 It's not really a chord progression, but if it were I'd say it'd be Em/D/C/B/Em

  • fucking awesome

  • metal

  • this song show am good.

  • this whole album is amazing to listen to when high. man i love listening to judas priest stoned. my first high was listening to them years ago and the music sounded new. lol good times.

  • OH man I miss heavy metal...

  • @HubertWolfen You sentence is contradictory ... Good music never dies

  • Reminds me of Remember Tomorrow on Iron Maiden's debut. Though of course that came several years later. Listen to Rob at approx 2:43. Paul Di'anno does that same voice in the aforementioned song.

  • absolutely awesome song.

  • Black Sabbath made Heavy Metal, but Judas Priest made it HEAVY METAL.

    METAL GODS!

  • @jfkdjfd I think Deep Purple had more influence, and made Heavy Metal a lot of what it is today. So many people consider them hard rock, listen to their classical influences, their screaming, and operatic singing, and tell me it doesn't sound exactly what would come of metal not much longer afterwards.

  • @DavidKinner Depp Purple is heavy, a lot of feel in their songs. I will always think of them as a "heavy" blues band really. What i get from them is blues, not "metal" Bluse can be heavy as can Classical music be. Take Gustav Holst's "Mars, Bringer of war" for example. That song is heavy.

  • @jfkdjfd I get what you mean, but Deep Purple was much more classically influenced than blues. Black Sabbath seemed more bluesy than Deep Purple. Regardless Gillan's vocal style was definitely the most dominant influence on the metal genre.

  • @jfkdjfd

    BWAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH!

    NOT!

    why contadict yourself.

this was probably jps ONLY real metal album.

    after this, they just sucked.

in a good way, but nevertheless..............

they lost their way when they began thinking that they were better than "god" (sabbath)

halford said "we took what they did and came up with something new" (paraphrase)

THIS album was metal, but ...........

  • @edslides1 The rest were, as well.

    lol

  • @edslides1 Idk about that. Rocka Rolla was pretty badass too

  • sounds like Planet Caraban

  • love this album

  • after this one i cant listen one other song I SWEAR TO ROB !!!!

  • I sang along to this song hundreds of times and those were the best of times....

  • I'm proud to say way back in 10th grade, this was my favorite song in the world.

  • awesome priest. this is what my dreams are made of.

  • I`M HAPPY ME AND MY HONEY ARE GONNA SEE THEM IN MIAMI 12/01 JOHN LOVES CINDY

  • @johnbuysdimes

I was there. Awesome show. (From California) :)

  • inkredible

  • Three people were deceived in their dreams.

  • definitely one of the best metal songs..

  • ye the picture is going in and out of focus but its rob's singing making me go blind to increas my listening power hahaha

  • I may be high, but the picture is definitely moving right?

  • This is my favourite Priest song and quite possibly my favourite of all time. The guitar solo still sends shivers down my spine.

  • @Bluehighlander Agreed. I feel the exact same way about this song, and this solo...Despite the fact that I love every Tipton solo, I think this piece is one of the best he's ever done. This solo just screams "emotion", and it fits the song perfectly....

  • yea i cant fucking wait goin to see them to night

  • one word: AMAZING!

  • It's not human to have such a powerful and consistant vocal range...

  • @jevimetal13 It is indeed and there is only one and only Metal God able to do so ;)

  • @jevimetal13 That is why he is the METAL GOD ! ! ! !

  • @ElChero2008

tony iommi is not on this song!

  • did maiden steal their idea for number of the beast artwork?!

  • priest is priest... nothing can compare..they are the single sonic sound, caught in the cosmos, that is vibrating constantly... when i hear this, i get chills, my hair stands on end, i cry... it's like all the perfection in the universe just crystalizes in Rob Halfords voice... Rob, ian, glenn and kk neeting and making this band, was a huge event in human history, a touch of ? the beyond? the infinite and eternal.. they are THe masters..

  • Most beautiful lyrics ever created. I always believed that Priest is the most creative band in lyrics. This song it's a masterpiece. It's a shame that isn't very famous but that makes it more special.

  • i remember Joe Anthony of 99.5 KISS announcing this new band from Birmingham,England 1976, first to last song on the Sad Wings of Destiny, loved it back then still love it, Instant Classic, thanks Joe...

  • its not about the no. of octaves.. blues singers made a difference to the music industry with just one octave and 3 chords...

  • what is the song talking about though? lyrics sound like they're talking about tripping almost.

  • @cyberwaffles As with music (being an art) it's always up for interpretation. There's a couple of theories I've heard.... (either Drugs or Aliens) However, during the Priest "trial" back in the late 80's, while Rob was being questioned about their song lyrics, he did seem to mention something about this song being about some kind of alien encounter...So, who knows, really???? But, the whole "alien" topic did influence some of their lyrics, however....

  • A great masterpiece.The beginning of metal......

  • one of priest's best songs. a little underrated too.

  • my first vinyl :)

  • the best thing i ever hear

  • Rob can do 4 octaves

  • @MegaDogwater

6 he can do dickinson can do 4 google it ;)

  • this is one of the greatest albums ever recorded!

  • I actually went to a christian meeting and done a bit of a talk and got stuck,so i said, caught in the cosmos is a single sonic sound, that is vibrating constantly, and if we could grip and hold onto the note,we would see our minds were free, yes i did,you should,ve seen the looks, they mustve thought, words of extreme beauty, truth and harmony.the words of rob halford,i don,t give a shit if he,s gay, this is the ultimate rock track ever, led zep, black sabbath, thin lizzy, aerosmith, you name them, noone ha

  • @theneil100 the world needs more of that kind of a kick in the ass

  • 3 dislikes omfg!!! im sure pop fans come on to watch these videos just to put dislike

  • 3 dislikes omfg!!!

  • my, my, Rob! Starts out nice and low and then reaches the freaking heavens! What a vocal range! This song as a whole is perfect as whole really - I mean, christ, that guitar solo is a beautiful classic and the bass and drums and main riff are powerful and driving to boot. Enough said!

  • Just imagine being there (in the recording studio) during the recording of this song...I can just imagine the looks on everyone's faces in the control room when Rob reaches the 2:58 mark. Rob just unleashes the ultimate fucking vocal fury! Jaws must have hit the fucking floor, skulls must have exploded.....Angels wept

  • @laney50w Dont forget penises ejaculated

  • @laney50w And vaginas flooded

  • @Hughesy16LFC LMAO!!

  • @laney50w I have a live video, of JP doing this tune. Sweetest thing I own. Live and during the creation of the album.Rob was much better live actually. Wanna see it?

  • @MrSavagerocks OH, FUCK YEAH!

  • @laney50w It probably went more like "*sigh* take 226. Listen, Rob are you sure about this?" XD

  • @laney50w I'm impressed to see an inteligent, straight from the heart, comment rated on the top comments. Nicely said here.

  • @Stefan1703 hehe, thanks!

  • @laney50w this music makes me go :D

  • Rob Halford=best vocalist ever.

    Judas Priest=Best band ever. Forever.

  • maiden are great but they are just mortals!this is the god!

  • Bruce vs Rob again -.- They are both gods each one better at some things. I'd say Bruce is better on aggressive stuff where Rob's lyrical style and ballad way of singing is unmatched. Also Rob is known for his high pitched screaming while Bruce is one of the very few if not the only metal singer who almost 100% sings with chest voice only still had incredible range when he was young.

  • @vazelos87 Well, not really. Halford actually sang on chest voice that's why his "screams" are so powerful and unparalleled, whereas Dickinson always had a powerful, limited upper scale delivery. This is well documented in YT, you can look for these comparison.

  • damn thats good

  • Damn that's good!

  • 0.57 the melody that starts reminds me of an iced earth song....

  • dreamer deceiver and deceiver are the successors of stairway to heaven.

  • YOU CANNNNNNN ALLLLLLLLLLLLLWWWWWWWWWWWWAAAAAAAYYYYSSSSSSSSSSSSSS TRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYAAAYAAAYAYAYAYAYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!! [m]

  • Excelente simplemente excelente |m|

  • Epicness bound in sound... In memory of all friends that I've lost along the road. Let the sad wings of destiny carry your memory to the afterlife. I'll meet you there...

  • Mother of God, how do his vocal chords not break?

Ooooh right, they're made of METAL!!!!!

  • @jevimetal13 ..LOL....and the best part is, Rob smokes! He even said that the cigarettes don't bother his voice much (or at all). Was listening to an interview with him on Sirius Radio (a week or two ago), he was talking to Eddie Trunk about it. Said his vocal range is not affected by them! I couldn't believe it...

  • @jevimetal13 Made of sharpened steel

  • 1979 palladium NYC nov 9 my 17th bday they did this tune.......priceless

  • im now pure again. Thanks priest! Love ya!

  • gawd i love this song

  • What a fucking disgrace, there's a Justin Biebfag ad on this page!!! Kill it, KILL IT!!!

  • i get goosebumps when rob halford starts the high pitched singing at 2:59,fuck what an epic voice.

  • the intro to this is how i tune my guitar

  • @beastforum1 LOL...I've always used "The Sentinel" to tune my guitar!

  • Best Priest-Album ever! And I like most of their stuff!

  • Awesome ! I wore this album out in the 70's Rob has the best voice ever. all over the spectrum he sounds fantastic.

  • I thought that this song would end at 5:57. O_O

    Great video. Bloody brilliant.

  • @warnpassion "dreamer deceiver" ends at 5:57 and then "Deceiver" starts, its two tracks

  • these songs made me love metal. what a voice. i used to listen to this for hours over and over again.

=WHAT A FUCKING AWESOME SONG !! In dutch and frisian

ps could everybody say this in their home country speaking ?

    something new :)

  • holy shit rob had a low vocal range and and extremely high vocal range the guy is amazing

  • @xDXPxJOEx456x1 The best description I ever heard for Rob's voice is; He can go from Beelzebub to Mae West in mere seconds.

  • @xDXPxJOEx456x1 Vocal range is the vocals as a whole. Rob had a huge vocal range. Vocal range isn't separated into low and high. There are high notes and low notes low octaves and high octaves they are all included in the entirety of his vocal range.

  • old priest is the best!!
