1. You have to want to go, so don't complain if you can't go because it's a privilege
2. It's not about what you learn, it's what you get in the end: a degree that shows employers that you had the will and determination to work your ass off for 4 years
@Tirius9393 Just because you decide not to waste 4 years of your life for a degree that may or may not get you a job doesn't mean that you don't work your ass off. I know plenty of people who never went to college and have worked their butt off and are actually even more successful than people who did go to college. Honestly it all depends what works for you. For some people it makes sense for them to go to college and for others it doesn't.
@Tirius9393 Yes, it is about what you learn. Employers do not care if you work your ass off.. They care if you can do your job and do your job right. You are stuck in the mindset that employers care about the piece of paper... They dont... they just use that piece of paper to filter out job applications... The paper means NOTHING anymore, its experience and knowledge that does.
I dropped out because I realized that college was more of a business than an institution that taught knowledge. I just felt like a cog in a giant machine that was created to bleed me dry of my hard earned money for a degree that won't land me a decent job after graduation. Sorry folks, this is the truth.
How about making degrees less full of bullshit? 2 years of those 4 years are spent taking classes most people took in highschool. There is no need for American citizens to waste their time and money on somehting they should already know.

I dropped out of college and became a self taught web developer.
It was very hard at 1st but after a few years it got a lot better.
