number one defect of the iPhone 3gs is its battery life. depending on how much you use it the longest it can go without charge is three days but if you are a 15-year-old like me three days is about right. but for anybody who got the iPhone to be used for business and such it rarely goes a day without charge (i am not just speculating, ik bcuz my entire family has iPhones (3gs) and it really depends because my sibling and i barely charge ours whereas my mother and father charge theirs evrynite)

I don't have sprint or verizon i have at&t and i want a phone that has good memory and alows me to talk and surf the web at the same time. Even though verizon has more coverage than at&t why have coverage if it is so limited as to what you can do. COVER FLOW owns all.

I total agree verizon has horrible phones great service I couldn't a good signal with iphone 3GS so I bought verizon mifi which gives me great service with my ipod touch 64G and of course at home and a lot of places I get free wifi. With the purchase of the mifi I got a free phone it's basic but I'm not gonna deal w/ AT&T to get an iphone w/ spotty coverage ;-/ Hope this helps

well, the iPhone also has free apps. both networks are alright (personally, I use Verizon. i have one of those free phones.. but I ALWAYS have service, even at school where they attempt to block calls). it's up to you.. the iPhone is pretty beastly, but HTC also makes good phones (shooting myself in teh foot for saying that here haha).

again, it's your choice. the iphone will have many more apps, but Android is also becoming fairly common, so it's app #s will increase as well.

att does tend to not receive signal in places where Verizon, sprint etc does. They use GSM which is an older technology. As for verizon and some other companies they use CDMA which is faster and more reliable. But not as widley used. If you want the iphone then I would recommend it. It all depends on whether you want more wide band coverage.

Thats Bull Shit CDMA was established earlier in North America and thus has a bit more coverage than GSM. GSM on the other hand is an international standard backed by an international organization and the protocol is a more mature and thus more robust. There is no clear winner in the CDMA vs. GSM debate here; it all depends on your needs.

Yeah.. the battery life is just god awful. I have an iPod Touch and its basically the same, without all the extra calling and the camera and stuf, and the battery life on the iPod is just.. terrible. Ha, I was playing 1 app (Bowman, actually) and the battery was fully charged. After 20 minutes of playing it said "Battery is less than 20%" or somethin like that. Its pretty bad.

If you have the extra money 3GS 100%, but if you don't and you just want to have an iPhone ASAP, then stick with the 3G and just Jailbreak it to get the Video Recording feature, then the only real difference is the speed and the voice control.

i think the screen freeze could be the device error try contacting apple customer service. and the overheating is not that new it is been from the iphone 3g itself but it is not that hot to handle the phone at that point. You could be overusing the GPS or anyother application.
