  • even if young gms are lazy, this was even really strange for theory lazy gms. did anyone hear any commentary from caruana how he could go so wrong??

  • Shows how an early error can lead to a quick loss - good commentary. It's the sort of thing Kasparov or Karpov (inter alia) would also punish. Sometimes the young masters or GMs are lazy on chess opening theory... of course also if one doesn't know it pays to study the position very carefully -the Be7 move looks relatively impulsive...

  • Good show KC.

How about some of the flashy victories frmo the Rising Stars? Give us some hope, man!

  • what a crush! Plz post more games from this tourney!

  • Looks like a very interesting tournament with some good matches. Are there any other games worth posting you think?

  • omg the youngster got put in his place

  • After 1. ... Rd7 2. Bc8

g3 seems fine to me forcing

    3. ... Qg4 4. Bd3 just treatening h3

Also locking down the knight on h5

  • great commentary -- this sort of stuff (postgame analysis in any form) + 'live' 5 min games = bliss.

why so afraid of rybka all of a sudden, though? i get not wanting a computer to dictate yr interpretations, but it seems useful as an analysis tool.

  • genius. great annotation!

  • 19...Qf5? was black's blunder. 19...Qg6 20. Bd3 Qh6 21. Qxh6 gxh6 is a more plausible continuation.

  • Beyond the massive weakness on d5, 11. ... e5 would fail to 12. Bxe5, since the pawn is pinned.
