OMG I totally thought "Ghost in the Shell" when I saw the optical camo cloak by Tachi in Japan. Granted it needs work but still. .... wow. Yes, Shirow is probably got a tear in his eye like myself when I heard about that.
NexAngelus405, the technology is far from perfected. Basically, he is wearing a reflective jacket, with a camera behind him, and a projector in front of him. Don't get me wrong, it is an awesome demo on their part, and this tech can only be improved upon, but you make it seem like it is combat ready. do a google search for university of tokyo optic camouflage for an excellent breakdown of how this works. Oh, and nice vid. Great job of sneaking in the majors boobs. ^_^
about the boobs, it wasn't intentional, I just wanted to use this scene cause it was the first part where they show the camo in action (and the exploding head).
@Sorazorashii Not being a douche, but if it is a projection then why does it not appear on the hands faces and other given instances likr the rear of the hand mirror? Maybe the trick is the type of surface used reflects the projection and, let's say the skin, does not. I've no real insight into this so I'm going to take your advice and explore this on the net. Thank ye!
The camouflaged guy messed up. The image that we were supposedly seeing through him was still showing up on his skin where he wasn't wearing the camouflage stuff. It's pretty obvious that it was just a projection in front of him as well as the image behind.
