The problem is that the vampires from Twilight are not 'vampires,' but simply Stephanie Meyer's wish-fulfillment fantasy about a cute guy with super-powers, given a 'vampire' spin to appeal to the pretentious teen gothy, anti-establishment crowd. The vampires here are objects of terror. Clearly, they could never meet.

I have nothing against going with the more romantic aspects of vampires over the BLOODTHIRSTY DEMON portrayal...if it's done right. But unfortunately, SM sucks as a writer.

Well, since vamps dont exists, each movie, books, games, etc have their own interpretation of vampirism. Look at the vamps in Van Helsing, Dracula (1992), BloodRayne, 30 Days of Night, etc, they're different and they all have different rules and explanations concerning their powers, their numbers, their origin, the means to kill them, their weaknesses, their bite, their anatomy, etc. That probably didnt help you though, did it? lol

I don't believe they exist either but usually the myth surrounding them is that they exist and almost no one knows it so if they did we likely wouldn't know anyway i think pre movies the myth was pretty simple in detail like feeding on blood so their appearance and personalities have been imagined in wildly different ways.

Actually, this one comes AFTER the movie (at 4:00 you'll hear them discussing the fires in Barrow, Alaska and how it wasn't a fire). The order is the movie, then Dust to Dust. I just don't know where Blood Trails fits.
