  • not really his fault maybe 50% he got hit by a crosswind, and that things too light.

  • Lately at the summit of the mountain where I herd my sheep I see more and more of these predator birds some of the locals call "hang gliders",so I carry a shootgun now around the sheep. The other day had to shoot at one six times till finaly let the man go.

  • The only casualty is pride so it's not so bad.

  • Darth Vader costume?

  • Is he OK after the landing?

  • Right wing stalledth.

  • fail

  • hahahaha Fail

  • stall!

  • turbulence!

  • landing against the wind?

  • @antoniooliveira287 Everyone lands into the wind. (:-}-|----<

  • Trying to land on a slight down grade is tough, really drags the landing out ;-)

  • guy looks like a flying tarantula with its legs dangling.

  • @usivio980 can't stop laughing...seriously :D

  • Damn..... is the glide ok?

  • I hate it when the glider wants to keep on flying like that.

  • Any landing that you can walk from is a good landing.

  • Shame , I have seen lots of worse landings than that and they have got off without danages, Cheers for showing. i supose some we win and some we lose, Pete

  • @pepersorte dude his name is not pete

  • @pepersorte Did i say his name was Pete? cheers Pete

  • i thought he was going to stall and then nosedive. Wasnt so bad afterall.

  • Si yo fuera supermán te llevaba en la mano volando

pero como no lo soy te jodes y vas andando

  • It was quite good landing except the last part, because the glider lost speed due to him staggering too long in the air and stall....

  • @002182 I agree with you, a little bit too fast, but you have not second chance.

  • Ouch.

  • lol

  • Important e ca a scapat fara nici o fractura.

  • Should have spent more time practicing on Pilot Wings

  • hey whaaaa happaned? he was doing such a cool landing.

  • whats wrong with this landing,,,its perfect,,you know what they say: every landing you can walk away from is a good landing!

and i can walk away from it every time i see it

  • "A good landing is one where there's no damage to aircraft, pilot/passengers, or any other property."

  • hahahahahahha...poofter....

  • hahahahahaa funny

  • He is the Dragonborn

  • @kompradorantigo WHAM-BAM-THANK-YOU-MA'AM!!! KABOOM!!

  • You need leg extensions!

  • Is Hangliding easy?

  • @Hamradioismyhobby if you get good instruction you will be OK, its hard work at the begining but well worth it. The landing in this video the pilots approach is too slow so the glider has a minds of its own (low airspeed) plus the pilots hands are too high on the control frame reducing roll authority.. but at the end of the day the pilot walked away with broken uprights and probably won't do that again I hope !

  • well... he landed in one peace.

  • I would love to do this... don't know if i would have the guts to... what a buzz!

  • Nice landing... if in doubt just fall out of the sky!

  • That looks like a learning experience. Glad the pilot made it. Hang glider parts can be replaced.

  • Of all the ways you can fly hang gliding looks like the most risky method.

  • Well... that was a fail

  • 100% boring

  • He was stalling but the ground kept falling out from under him . Thank goodness

nothing was damaged but his pride . I notice whenever I start recording the incidence of problems rises ... everytime !

  • and hes gay 2

  • bad flare

  • @jorge93martins Ha ha... brilliant!

  • He didnt die?! I was expecting decapitation by tree at the least! LOL, j/k

  • I think that is a demonstration of what happens when you don't directly into the wind.

  • What music is this?

  • hes an pro

  • rigid wing would be safer. It look easy for a bird or perhaps debris to maybe rip the wing material. I would definitely prefer rigid wings.

  • that's what happens when you get impatient....the wing was not done flying...that thing really wanted to fly and fly and fly....good video !

  • Yah... dont turn when that close to the ground ;)

  • no flame, no fame.

  • I don't like the look of having to control a hang glider in sudden strong gusts of wind. THat would most likely make it possible to lose control

  • $200 what broke?

  • His motor is broken :)

  • ATERRIZAS COMO EL PAJARO BOBO

  • good camera work

  • go around...go around

  • He should have had a gun to shoot holes into the wings to reduce lift ^^

  • My God! it exploded in flames!

  • @Holliethedog it di?

  • Any landing you can walk away from is a good one.

  • He lived. Thumbs up!

  • nice face plant

  • that looks fun actually

  • ive been watching a lot of HG videos and reading some books trying to get me some knowledge before i sign up for a lesson and really appreciate when people are posting this kind of video to hopefully minimize the mistakes that a newbie will be making, like me. Thanks

  • How is that Pilot error? That was excellence, since man was not meant to fly or glide to begin with.

Perhaps I'm missing the humor among pilots. To which I can only say, Pilots are snobby assholes whose only redeeming quality in life is that they can fly your ass. Otherwise, they are garbage characters. Real terrible people to befriend or talk to.

  • @BallsInYourJawsBitch .....if i have to explain it to you then you shouldnt be here, you should be watching justin beiber video`s, now scoot along. btw, thank you for the awesome compliments, im all of those things and more......cuz i can flyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. ; )~~~~~~~~

  • @BallsInYourJawsBitch You called it

  • A similar mistake costs me a plate and seven screws in my arm, so be happy with just $200

  • Good reminder video.

We've ALL done it...... many many times... (or, at least I have HA!)

It was selfless of you to post it here for the couch monkey's to chime in. Good to see the easy mistake from a different view. Thank You.

  • manezao !!!!!!

  • lol

  • Tried too hard to muscle it at stall. Better to over-shoot unless you're going to over-shoot into an obsticle.

  • gravity allways wins

  • I think any one who gave this video a thumbs down was probably expecting the glider to crash into a rock and explode into flames.

  • @caatabatic Well, duh. Didn't you? That's what all the HangGliders do in the movies. You mean they don't do that in reality? Well, what use are they, then? :P

  • @caatabatic Thumbs up & thumbs down

  • those things need like large flaps you can open just before touch down so this does not happen.

  • The aeroplane was invented a century ago, why to experiment with stuff like this? ;)

  • @makos007 It's a more pure feeling of flight, it's way more affordable, and it's very hard to hurt people other than yourself doing it.

  • the failglider has arived

  • No looks like he is a student and couldn’t maneuver sufficiently

  • Looks like a thermal was developing right about the time he decided to land. You see as he turns base and final that his turns were coordinated therefore not a rookie. The double surface glider is not a beginners bird. As he's descending to the deck he appears to gain altitude (could be the filming angle or could be thermal activity). My bet is thermal -- especially when you see the wing lift suddenly during flare. He got away without broken glider parts or injury.

  • muy malo,ja,ja,ja

  • Downwind and cross slope - not a good combo.

  • Lol, tried getting your $200 worth.

  • I want to go hang gliding sooooo bad, but it's soooo expensive. Wouldn't mind going bungee jumping or sky diving too. I don't now, but I would like to live on the edge :)

  • LOL

  • that was the wind

  • Wingtip slope. Slope wingtip. Ouch.

  • lol i keep thinking how they film it in aerial view..its just a camera zooming in xD

  • That was awsome but less moving the legs but I was watching this for a funny fail XD

  • hahahahaha...I could feel your desperation! You were probably thinking "Damn performance wing". It could be worse for sure!

  • It could be worse...

  • hahaha i was laughing the whole time !!!

  • He didn't flare out quite as much as he should. Then again, the wind was pretty strong.

  • looks like a jiggling spider pig jumped off Homer's roof with a blanket

  • NOOB

  • i think this is radiohead - no?

  • lol..bringing back some memories..your not far away from safer landings now..hang in there!

  • I didn't know Darth Vader can fly?

  • 100% true

  • lol he was doing so well! i am taking my first course this spring after watching my father fly for years.. excited!

  • I would LOVE to do this....but I'm not necessarily the luckiest guy on earth.

  • This reminds me of that hand glider level in Pilotwings for SNES. I can just picture the blonde instructor dude saying "I AM DISAPPOINT" as the "you failed" music plays in the background.

  • I like his legs moves lol

  • Any landing you can walk away from is a good one.

  • i though it was the brown sky i was confused >.> lol

  • fuk all u douche bags this guy would smoke every one of you in a glider.

  • hahahahah

  • ooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee that must hurt

  • what is he doing?!

  • ouch!

  • O Trouxa pouzou a favor do vento e so ver o movimento dos matos no chaõ

  • He was itching to be slapped much worst than this by physics for a long time

  • What goes up must come down. There's no guarantee how though.. Glad the pilot was okay.

  • Mother Nature is a bitch.

  • less nothing broke off

  • wind to the ass and down the slope = nice :))

  • sorry officer, two minutes ago I thought guiness made me Chuck Norris :P

  • that was a graceful landing

  • Tho shalt keep up thy airspeed, least the ground reach-up and smack thy.

  • The music is an error

  • Ok. Skidt sker.

  • I tried to land downhill once - can´t do that. I didn´t know I could run like that. But maybe a better planning of the landing approach could have helped. Sxxx happens.

  • You gotta' learn one way or another.

  • I'd go back to flying a Wills Wing Falcon if I ever landed like that!

  • Looks like fun, rough landing notwithstanding!

  • i fly and some times ill see guys at the hanger messing with these always wanted to try it although im sure its alot diffrent then a plane.

  • no don't help me just keep filming

  • lmfao earths like Cant touch this

  • LOL

  • this is a beautiful sport, which i am gonna involved with! awsome stuff man!

  • how much do these gliders cost ? and do you need a permit for it or anything ?

  • @N1bbyZ certified ep and CP pilot to allow u to fly on recognised sites

  • @N1bbyZ, a good used glider and harness is about $1500 and up. In the USA the sport is regulated by local clubs and the USHPA. Google USHPA for their website, youTube won't let me post the url.

  • lol that wasn't so bad.

  • nn capisce un azz di volo e di delta - metti almeno 2 ruote e comprati un paracadutino di arresto ....... stai a casa va la'

  • holy dumb paragliders batman!!

  • Fuck it, that STILL looks like fun.

  • it s not bat

  • Justin Bieber can do a better job than you!

  • Looked like a downhill slope and hard to get the speed down.

    Bob

  • OR you could fly something with an engine

  • go around anyone?

  • coitada da asa!

  • Sorry officer i was drunk. I didn't see the land coming.

  • @bikramjeet001 the ground came up and hit you..not your fault!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Oh well walk away from another landing in the iz, thats impact zone...

  • Dude flared WAY too early!

  • better to keep the legs crossed, swinging the legs makes the glider less predictable in flight, more airspeed keep that bar in...and a hard flare, just looked like a tentative attempt at landing stalled one wing...i'll stay in my beginners glider for a while yet

  • Any landing you walk away is a good one, any landing that you can reuse the plane/aircraft is a great one

  • When starting my lessons, I was told that crossing the street or riding a horse is more dangerous than this amazing sport. And really, the deaths are mainly sourced from aerobatic pilots, or unfortunentally pilots that have never obtained any hours of training.

  • hahahaha ronaldo

  • EPIC FAIL!

lol but rlly that looks soo fun

  • those gliders like to fly a lot , specially downhill. :-)

  • Speed is your friend.

  • sketchy LZ's, switchy conditions, sometimes zhit happens, tailwind or downhill, you gotta keep up airspeed even when your groundspeed seems excessive. If you're on steadily increasing downhill with carnage awaiting below, end it sooner not later with an aggressive flare and be sure to maintain extension (no ccllapse of flare) It's amazing how far you can parachute without damage, If possible, take crosswind or light tailwind over downhill.

  • At 0:58 I could just feel your stall.

    'been there.

  • Hey dude, wasn't that bad eh. Approach circuit was really sweet. Odd how you went from uprights, back to base bar though. Nice wing :)

  • well, all i can say is EPIC FAIL

  • Are boogers nutritious? Oh, nice landing.

  • @hartistry1957 if they are, i'm healthy for life

  • watch his legs its so funny!

  • Ooops!
