can't get enough of it, and i remeber grand turismo2 when u started a race only 1 song would play all the time, either it was rob zombie or the cardigans or this. especialy when you drive a 50lap race for like 1,5 hours and jam to this one song ^^
Yuval Gabay and Mark Di Gli Antoni were the soul of this band, Sebastian's bass lines were the spinal chord, and Doughty was the cerebrum. I've never seen their videos but this one was fuckin awesome!
all I can think of is a dodge viper fishtailing on a hairpin turn on Rome Circuit course. in retrospect.. its pretty hilarious that they put this song on GT 2... along with powerman 5000 and rob zombie.
i'm surprised it was later revealed mike doughty was on heroin cuz his lyrics are so logical and coherent...in all seriousness, this band kicks a lot of ass, one of the most underrated of the 90s or any decade.
first time hearing them a friend told me to hear em and they are good not usually my music style but their good any other good song from them u guys recommend me ?
FUCK the CHICAGO CUB players and fans, and all you yuppies over prevlige Preps, from the so "CALLED OC" come to the Chi, Cook County and will see how cool you'r really R, God bless the White SOX, DA Bears, and the BUlls R.I.P. Walter Payton best running back in NFL of all time>
sO fUCK the chicOgO cubs the south side of chicogo is way more hare Harecore then the north side, You take 10 Dudes from the south side of CHI agingst 50 Nouth side Fafigits, I guarantee the south side'ers will come out on top! Go WHITE SOX BULLS AND BEARS, and I guess you can throw the BLACK HAWKS in there 2, but FUCK the CUbs!
This song was on the Gran Turismo 2 soundtrack too, if I'm not mistaken. This song is one of those things that's embedded in your memory and you didn't even know it was there.
This song is also from a scene from "Homicide: Life on the Streets". THE best show of the 1990's. It's what the makers of The Wire did before The Wire. This song always reminds me of Baltimore.
This is part of the 90s music american consciousness. If you were not a nub, you saw this on MTV late at night coming off some cid and got pretty tripped out at the video to boot. Good times. Thanks for the vid.
Okay, I /love/ Soul Coughing, but this video could stand to have less of Doughty doing his spastic hand-jiving. The kitten chewing on knobs looks less awkward.
oh ok. Judging by some of there other tracks it was a continuation of there drug imagination with lyrics. Then again, if it was mango they would have had a mango dancing through the tunnel I guess. Still, thats how I relate to soul coughin. One day I hope to upload my video of morkus dueporkus the singing lemon.
I needed a break from scrolling upscreen at my pedestrian job. I love this song. Listen to it all the time when I'm driving home from work. "Move aside and let the man go thru, let the man go thru, move aside and let the man go thru, let the man go thru." Makes traffic somewhat tolerable.
True dat his work with Soul Coughing was godlike. But some of his later solo stuff like Haughty Melodic has hints of his past work in it. Far more creative than you'd think. I recommend that album.

The bassline in and of itself is alright, in my opinion. It's the fact that it fits so well with the beat that completes it and makes it awesome.

Sebastian Steinberg was the bassist for Soul Coughing. or should I say Bull Fiddle?

It was a joke. And if you don't know who Hank Paulson is, you need to read a newspaper once in a while.
