Carnivale is one of the best shows i've ever seen.

They've made a great dubbing work here in Brazil for this serie, but the original voices in english rock!

A friend just recently bought me the two seasons on DVD. I'd seen previews of it on HBO before, but wasn't too interested in what I THOUGHT was the premise of the show. Carnivale was amazing. I cannot understand how it only managed two seasons when it easily could've survived much longer. I'm almost glad I wasn't a fan while it was airing because I would've gone rabid after it's cancellation. This song was perfect. I would've loved to see Sofie and Ben's relationship in the third season.

I think partly because of just what you said. There were many people who just had this preconceived idea of what the show was about and weren't interested. Ironically, the ratings weren't all THAT bad when it was canceled. HBO canceled it because of internal politics involving someone's pet project called "Rome", which was an ok series, but wasn't anywhere near the quality of Carnivale.

I just hated the fact that they ended the series so soon, it was magnificent. Henry Scudder was the best! His character was so awesome!

Ben is the character I admire & like most.

Interesting point, the etymology [meaning] of Benjamin is ; From the Hebrew name בִנְיָמִין (Binyamin) which means "son of the south" or "son of the right hand".

Ben is a son of a southern state, he also a force of good which would make him a "son of the right hand".

Yeah, he was demonic, but not by choice. He spent his whole life running from his destiny, he did'nt want to hurt anyone. He just wanted to raise a family and live in peace. He was forced to run from the Russian and Lodz.

I found it odd that Justin's father was the prior creature of light and Ben's father was the prior creature of darkness. The roles were switched with thier offspring.

it's unlike anything you've ever seen, it's trippy shit, but I believe with what limited understanding i have that the atmosphere matches the time, certainly worth checking out

Honestly, I bought my seasons at Gamestop for like, $30 which is what an AVERAGE show costs (HBO jacks up prices, I SWEAR). But yeah, definitely worth checking out.
