@mikethegent For years they claimed that old man daley shouted " FUCK YOU, YOU JEW SON OF A BITCH!" But the camrea never actually captures him saying that. You can certainly tell that he is saying "FUCK YOU!"

The year the democrats became divided. Conservatives vs liberal democrats. Conservative went over to the republican party, and republican party had control of the white house 16, out of 24 years 1968, to 1992. Carter a one term president proved that America was not ready for a liberal, and failure.

@macdogq You're right, except that the division was between liberal Democrats and a far-left cadre of socialists who wanted revolution. By the '72 convention, the left wing had all but won, though there were still a few moderates and so-called Blue Dogs up until very recently.

One interesting thing about it is that, for the past 40 years, many Democrats have had to pretend to be moderate in order to get elected. And people keep falling for it.
