  • I had to show this video to my mum who not only believes that men haven't been to the moon, but that they've not even been into space at all lol. She thinks it's all a big hoax lol. This video convinced her that yeah, ok.....maybe they HAVE been into space at least lol. She still thinks the moon landings were a hoax though lol. Bless her!

  • 2:57 looks EXACTLY like the slave II from star wars.

  • HAHA fast forward to 2:53 and it looks like Slave1

  • This would be the ultimate thrill ride for me, but knowing my luck if i were to actually go up in that thing i'd probably lose my lunch. Despite that part i would still go up, i mean how many times do you get to say " my ass was once launched into space!"?

  • Thanks for uploading this...

  • Poor astronauts, they didn't stand a chance.

  • What???

  • These videos are my favorite thing on the internet. Never get tired of these.

  • i would jump off at 2:22

  • @charleTHEbanana At 2:22, you'd be going too fast to jump off. you'd be ripped to shreds.

  • Some day i will be a shuttle!

  • THATS FAST!!!

  • The external tank burns up in the atmosphere over the Indian Ocean. Its only the SRB's which are used again. They dont burn up. They are retrieved and used again.

  • The external tank falls into the ocean where it is picked up and either barged or floated back to port... correct me if I am wrong...

  • The solid rocket boosters (SRB's) fall off into the ocean and are retrieved but the external tank burns up falling back to earth.

  • Does the external fuel tank burn up? or just hit the water?

  • I've seen these time & time again but I never get bored at watchin these this why I miss Florida's beautiful weather

  • I've got the mission patch for this very mission! :)

  • amazing this launch

  • wow!!! this is really cool. thanks for posting

  • Too bad the camera got all fuzzy, it would have been awesome to see the entire launch.

  • why in the min 2:42

can i see something transparent ?

    atmosphere ?

  • It's the exhaust plume from the SRB separation motors that fogged over the camera..

  • I've just been on the shuttle ..lol..:)

  • ya my ass

  • No, not your ass he's said shuttle, how can you not tell the difference between an anus and space travel?

  • maybe their ass is the size of the shuttle? lol

  • We have great technology...problem is the ships go in circles and the jets go for tet flights...can't win any war with that mentology.

  • @ChevyManDan77 it was a german that invented rockets and got most of their problems sorted out.. Nasa was founded by a german.....tool

  • @ChevyManDan77 Don't forget that Wernher von Braun(German!),he's the person who was responsible for all the american 'space breakthrough'

  • @ChevyManDan77 Hahaha. What could this video possibly say about us Americans as a whole? You and I have done absolutely nothing to contribute to our country's space travel, yet simply because a select few exceptionally talented and dedicated individuals worked their entire lives to achieve what we could only sit and watch on youtube; that miraculously makes you and me smart? Do you have any idea how ironic your comment is? I assume you believe all Muslims are terrorists and Germany hates Jews?

  • What hepping the white emmm white missles when drop?

  • They fall to the ocean.

  • they fall in the house with boy and mother hungry =O!

  • Amazing system. It's not perfected, far from it, but this is mid 1970's technology.

We need to perfect and advance our systems to get us back to the moon and Mars.

  • So now we need to be perfect?!?!

Why not just resort BACK to the 60's technology that got us there in the first place...(allegedly)

  • allegedly? I smell the stench of a moon hoaxer.

  • i love mission control's voice on this launch...

  • LOL Listen to this on headphones...you can hear a sound like birds chirping from 2:31...there must be a nest stuck in a crack somewhere... :p

  • everyone should go check out kennedy space center visitor complex.

  • i went there twic it was awsome

  • nice view man!

  • Amazes you seeing the advanced technology we humans posses

  • Amazing technology and bravery. Kudos to all concerned!

  • awesome video!!

  • This makes me feel sick watching it! I could not do that!

  • 780 miles in 8 minutes, and that's just sideways, never mind upwards. Amazing stuff.
