i don't play bass really...but i'm trying to figure out where the slap is coming from. i'm assuming it's the strings hitting back down on the neck. but do you also slap the strings with the same fingers you're plucking with? i.e. index finger...just curious. thanks.

@BuddyTheeElf: yes, that is correct. Pluck the string, then slap against the back board. Thats what gives it a douple slap sound. And it depends on how im playing. in this video, i do slap with the my index and middle fingers. other times, i'll use all my fingers at once, or the palm of my hand occasionally.

@1010omarchino: when i took this video, about 3 years. and all i can say is start off slow when you practice slapping. teaching yourself is the best way to learn.
