If this song came out in 1971 then I was not born for 14 more years. I am not born in the U.S.A either but have live here most of my life. I am learning about the pop songs of this era by exploring You Tube. This song and group music is almost not to be believed! This is a song that is perfected in all the elements of song writing, musicianship, singing, and production. It is a stunning work that is so much fun and energetic to hear! It is romantic but has an edge on it.
Sooooo many memories of waiting for the Grass Roots to come on 'LS or 'CFL when I was a teen.....air guitar before it was fashionable, and beating the metal dashboard to death doing drum solos in the car. This was a great time to be alive, Bucks, Grass Roots, Shadows of Night, so many places to see and hear them. This song in particular brings back so many memories. Thank you so much for posting it
Looking through lots of videos on youtube. so much crap!... and then there are your uploads... good sound, good video/slideshow. Very enjoyable. Thank you for bringing back memories of the late 60's, high school and my garage band.
Blue and green definitely seem to be the most tempting here and shown the most. Brown can be gorgeous but they did not seem to show that many that were beautiful.....Awesome song.
Elizabeth D. You were my "Temptation Eyes," that summer of '71 in our little lonely, subdivision in N.W. Ohio. All of those preteen, marshmellowly, angst ridden, puppy-love feelings that bound me up over you have come back time and time these past few years to haunt me.
@cforssi- Charles, I can't believe you are asking me this! I just posted a video with 4 songs from the "Move Along" album and of course "Monday Love" is one of the 4! Ron
@larrydh57 I know!!! I didn't even know about this until I checked the news!!! He was gone TOO SOON!!!! I even went to a concert a several years ago!!! Now I was not around when they first debut, but to be able to go to a concert and hear their biggest hits live, that's a belssing!!!!
Holy s**t - I need to send a thank you note to my douchebag former employer for letting us go. Now I have time to listen to some really great songs that I almost forgot about. Temptation Eyes and Midnight Confessions are probably my fav Grass Roots tunes. Rock On.........
I was a 10 yeas old Drummer in 71..i would play to this song over & over..I was also in love with almost every Girl in my class..One was special to me we were very close..I never pushed for more,I Should have though because i found out through a friend of hers a few years later after she had moved that she always wanted more, I never saw her again..who knows.... im alone today though
@PurpleFade10.. Hi PurpleFade, I love the story you shared. Don't you sometimes wish you could kick your own ass for not doing something you really wanted to do...lol .. what you described has so happened to me and that's usually how I felt... I love a good love story, maybe you can find her on facebook or something... good luck... Maria from northern cali
These great songs of the 1960s to the early 1970s in contrast to the sh_tty "music" of today proves that marijuana destroys far less brain cells than cocaine and whatever they are doing today.
Listen to this band work, they were catchy and talented. The time of their success was no small feat as there were many, many great bands vying for listeners and fans.
How the hell did this do only #15 on the charts?

A catchy, beautiful song which nearly perfectly reflects my thoughts on my girlfriend. Surprised it only reached 15.
I wonder what the 14 higher ranked songs were (or where i can find the chart for those weeks in '71).
