I fuckin spend $80 a week on diesel fuel for my home! When the temp drops under -20, that diesel that would last a week would last three days, and December-January was -20 all the time. I did work 32 hours a week at $10 per hour this past winter, and now I am currently unemployed. Now I got to move back into my mothers house till mid summer when its warm enough because I got no heat. I live in the same town as this guy.
Fuel in the rural parts of Alaska are paying around $7.00/gal for heating oil(#1 diesel) and a little less for gas really hard to get by. Many had a poor salmon harvest this summer, almost 100% of processed food is flown in at a 200-300% markup. No large supermarkets mostly mom and pop stores, not alot of jobs, and colder than a good portion of the rest of the state for longer.
Daris89, if you'd ever been to rural Alaska (which I have been) you'd understand why this is nothing like CA or FL. Let's not sit here and point blame at particular parties, because here in AK, both dems and repubs are working to try and help these people, with a glaring exception of our governor.
that's happening all thru out the country, go to california and florida!! its worse!!! you're an idiot for blaming that on sarah! blame it on the democrats in congress that didnt bother to do anything in 2007 and 2008!!! if you didnt know they have had control in the last TWO YEARS!!! and by the way Alaska is one of the few who isn't completely bankrupt!! IDIOT!
