Dont give a damn if it was forward or not. Nothing actually happens here except for 2 bog standard passes down the line. Its all about the body language of the second receiver. Only one Welshman falls for the ruse and hes got 3 men inside him ready to take the French 15 should he get the ball, only problem is that hes marking the scorer. Lack of concentration and awareness. Its a very clever try, but from a move that should never have worked.

If you pause the frame at :18.....you see that when he catches the ball, the 2 men are lateral with each other.....I can see why this was not called....its very very close.

Bottom line is that if you try this over and over, you will not always get away with it, and turning the ball over 10 metres out is unforgivable. Better to not be so cheeky.
